"I thought you'd have learned your lesson by now," Grey said coldly, shaking his head as dozens of metal spears closed in on him. His eyes held a piercing calm. "I'm not on your level... I never was."

"Fusion Magic: Phantom Annihilation."

With a calm exhale—

POOF!

He vanished.

In the next instant, the spears slammed violently into the earth, erupting into a deafening explosion of dust and debris.

Cracks snaked across the ground, and deep craters carved into the arena floor testified to the destructive force.

The crowd gasped collectively, stunned silence sweeping through the stands. Every spectator leaned forward, eyes darting across the arena, desperate to find a trace of the vanished mage.

"Where the hell did Grey go?" Raze blurted, his voice echoing through the chamber below, where participants were gathered.

"I don't know, he just... vanished," Jay muttered, eyes wide, scanning the arena above. "Like—poof."

"Wait! Didn't he use that same skill before?" Raze said, scratching his head.

"Right! During the necromancer attack," Jay recalled, snapping his fingers. "He moved so fast it felt like he was teleporting. Just a blur."

"But back then… we could at least feel his movements. Now…" Raze trailed off, his mouth slightly open.

"He's broken through," Jay whispered. "He's even faster than before. It's not teleportation—it's speed on a whole new level."

"Crap!" Raze's eyes widened. "If Dave can't sense him… he's dead the moment Grey shows up!"

Jay shrugged casually. "So? If Grey kills Dave, Vince is safe."

"But Grey would be expelled from the academy," Raze shot back. "He'll have Captain Amir to face—and maybe even lose Vince's trust forever."

"Relax," Jay yawned. "Grey won't go that far."

"You think?" Raze raised a brow.

Jay began flashing back to moments when Grey had definitely gone too far—when Dave first ambushed Vince under the guise of a duel... again during the award ceremony... and the time Grey decimated over five hundred invaders in one furious blaze of vengeance.

"Okay, I take it back," Jay muttered, panic rising. "Grey might do something worse to Dave if he's not stopped now."

In the private viewing booth, Captain Amir lounged back, his eyes narrowed as they searched the field.

"Damn it. How is this kid moving this fast?" he muttered under his breath. Still, a small smirk tugged at his lips. "Dave deserves what's coming... As long as Grey doesn't kill him, it's fine."

Suddenly, Dave's voice rang out, echoing through the silent arena. "Did you run away?!" he barked, spinning in circles, frantically scanning for Grey.

"Tsk! I didn't know you were such a coward. Show yourself! Let me put you in your place once and for all!"

"You're strong," a whisper sliced through the air, like a ghostly wind.

"But too bad for you..." Grey's voice came again—this time directly in front of Dave.

Before Dave could react, Grey emerged from thin air, lightning already crackling around his arm. The electricity formed a gauntlet of pure energy. Without hesitation, Grey slammed his palm into Dave's face, the lightning exploding on contact.

"ARGHH!" Dave shrieked as electric tendrils surged through his body, biting deep into his skin.

In desperation, he snapped his fingers—summoning a hundred metal swords that shot toward Grey's unguarded back.

But he had forgotten one thing.

Behind Grey, his Lightning Snake materialized, its glowing maw stretching wide. With a hiss, it fired a barrage of lightning spears that clashed head-on with Dave's metallic ones.

BOOM!

The entire domain shuddered from the cataclysmic collision, a storm of smoke and magical pressure erupting. Amidst the chaos, Grey's grip tightened on Dave's face—

BANG!

He drove Dave's skull into the ground with thunderous force. A massive crater exploded beneath them as Dave's stunned eyes locked with Grey's blazing white ones.

"I am the Supreme Mage," Grey declared, his voice deep and final.

He leapt back. In a flash, a dozen wind-forged swords materialized in the air, then shot toward the groaning Dave.

"Wait! Is he trying to kill him?!" someone in the crowd shouted, horror spreading.

"Stop him! Someone stop that kid! He's going to kill Dave!"

Max, from the stands, watched with a deep frown. "Grey… what are you doing?"

"I told you," Grey roared, voice echoing like thunder. "The wages of sin… is death!"

He snapped his fingers. The wind swords accelerated like missiles, slicing through the air toward Dave's weakened form.

BOOOOM!

The earth trembled again. But from beneath, a towering wall of metal erupted, shielding Dave just in time. The impact roared through the coliseum, but the wall held—barely.

As it crumbled, Dave staggered up from behind it, coughing violently. Blood dribbled from his mouth, half his face was bruised and torn. His eyes, however, burned golden with rage.

"You want to kill me?!" he shouted. "Then I'll take you down with me!"

His domain trembled, golden sparks flaring wildly.

"What? Trying to scare me?" Grey scoffed. "You're doing a terrible job."

"Scare you?" Dave muttered.

Then… a soft chuckle.

It grew.

A laugh—maniacal, unhinged, rising from his gut as he bowed his head, covering his face.

Suddenly, the laughter stopped.

A deadly silence fell over the arena—thick, oppressive, heavy enough to smother breath.

Dave raised his head.

"I'm not trying to scare you…" he growled.

"I'm trying to kill you."

With a roar, his domain detonated with power.

From the ground, metal twisted and erupted—massive constructs clawed their way to the surface, one after another.

Fifty metal giants.

Each one towered like an ogre, arms forged of obsidian-colored steel, bodies pulsing with enchantments. They wielded titanic hammers, each the size of a small carriage, glowing with magical etchings.

Their armor gleamed with dark luster, reflecting the arena lights with a menace that sent chills down spines. Every movement of their limbs echoed with clanks and mechanical growls.

The earth rumbled beneath their unified steps. Dust swirled. The very coliseum shook as if afraid of the power Dave had unleashed.

A wicked grin stretched across his bloodied face.

"Metal Creation Magic: Ferros."
