Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Another Encounter

On the other side of Wang Jin and Lu Yao’s camp is a rocky mountain, and behind them is a broken wall formed by two giant rocks, extending towards Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s camp in the direction of the jungle.

Overall, the jungle they are in is a small jungle, a small one by the seaside.

If there is only one group, survival wouldn’t be a problem at all. However, with two groups, food will only become increasingly scarce.

Unless there’s abundant food by the seaside.

But they had gone a few times and hadn’t had much luck.

Today, they want to try their luck and see if they can gather some bounty.

If it doesn’t work out, bringing back some coconuts and sea salt would be good too.

So, the two of them headed in the direction of the seaside.

After more than an hour, Wang Jin and Lu Yao arrived at the seaside.

"Sis, the sea wind and waves are pretty strong today, is it suitable to go out?" Wang Jin said, looking a bit upset towards the sea.

"Since we’re here, let’s take a look." Lu Yao hadn’t expected such a situation either.

Thus, the two of them started searching along the seaside.

After an hour, they collected three crabs and about a dozen shells.

"It’s just like before; this sea is really quite poor," Wang Jin complained, feeling like it had been overfished. But there were no natives living here, so why is there so little ocean bounty?

"It’s indeed quite poor. Let’s try checking the seaside over there; Xu Yi found something there last time." Lu Yao pointed with her finger; after all, they had brought their lunch and weren’t worried about returning late.

Wang Jin nodded and said with a hopeful face, "Sure, maybe it’s just our side of the coast that’s poor."

This possibility was still relatively low, but it was worth a look.

So, the two of them passed by the natural Salt Pool and arrived at the other side of the beach.

"Ah, sea urchins! Sis, look, there are two big sea urchins here." Wang Jin exclaimed excitedly and picked up the two sea urchins.

This was the first time Wang Jin found sea urchins on the beach; he hadn’t seen them before.

"They are indeed quite large." Lu Yao nodded with satisfaction, glancing towards the sea.

With so little stuff by the sea, could it be that many sea creatures are being penned outside?

After all, the organizers are an advanced civilization, so setting up a net around the shore shouldn’t be too difficult.

Otherwise, the sea should be nurturing many animals, not just this few.

If it were on their planet’s sea island for wilderness survival, relying on the coastline between their camp and Xu Yi’s camp should easily sustain dozens of people.

And the entire island’s coastline could fully sustain all the challengers.

But now the coastline is abnormally poor; there is a high probability that creatures outside are blocked.

Of course, this was just Lu Yao’s guess; the actual situation remains unknown.

"This side is much better than ours, plenty of shells." Wang Jin happily put shells into the wooden bucket, as for other seafood, there wasn’t much.

"Sis, what are you looking at?" Wang Jin saw Lu Yao gazing at the distant jungle and couldn’t help asking.

"There seems to be some movement over there; let’s go check it out and leave the bucket here first." With that, Lu Yao walked over.

Wang Jin followed Lu Yao and arrived at the destination.

"It should be Xu Yi and Lu Ke, right?" Wang Jin noticed the so-called movement, which was cut palm leaves.

"Probably, let’s go say hi." Lu Yao said, putting away her bow and arrow.

"Alright." Wang Jin said happily, and then called out loudly, "Lu Ke, Xu Yi!"

Lu Ke, who was bundling palm leaves, stopped and stood up, saying happily, "Xu Yi, it’s Wang Jin calling us."

"Hey, we’re here." Lu Ke responded towards the direction of the voice.

Xu Yi glanced over and already saw Wang Jin and Lu Yao walking into the woods.

Soon, they met with Lu Ke and Xu Yi.

"What a coincidence, it’s really you." Wang Jin said happily, glancing at the bundles of palm leaves on the ground.

"Yes, are you out hunting?" Lu Ke asked with a smile; she was quite pleased to meet them here.

"No, we’re just here to pick up some shells and crabs." Wang Jin immediately explained, and then curiously asked, "What are you doing with these leaves?"

"Xu Yi and I collected lots of grapes; we’re planning to weave some mats to dry raisins." Lu Ke explained briefly; after all, this was just communication, not mutual assistance, so it wasn’t against the rules set by the organizers.

"Wow, drying raisins! You guys are too awesome!" Wang Jin exclaimed with sparkling eyes.

While she and Lu Yao were worrying about staple food, Xu Yi and Lu Ke were preparing snacks?

The difference between people, does it have to be so great?

"It’s not that great. Since we discovered them, we can’t watch them rot on the vine, right?" Lu Ke replied modestly.

"That’s true, if my cousin and I encountered them, we’d probably find a way to dry them too. Waste not, that’s not our culture’s style." Wang Jin agreed wholeheartedly.

What’s more, having some snacks is great for improving quality of life.

If possible, she believes no group would refuse.

In a pinch, raisins can also be used to satiate hunger and save lives.

"How about your harvest?" Xu Yi asked casually after descending from the palm tree.

"Just average, there’s too little seafood here." Lu Yao replied.

"Exactly, there’s not much seafood here by the sea, and once picked over, it virtually doesn’t replenish." Xu Yi said while glancing towards the sea.

An ocean without overfishing shouldn’t be this poor!

"Feels as if there’s an invisible net blocking everything." Lu Yao commented.

Upon hearing this, Xu Yi nodded and said, "It’s not impossible, otherwise the seafood at this beach shouldn’t be this little. I’ve seen people live stream sea fishing before, and they had a lot of harvest."

"No way, setting up such a big net seems wasteful, doesn’t it?" Wang Jin thought Xu Yi and Lu Yao’s guess made no sense, possibly just naturally low marine life?

"Their civilization is much more advanced than ours; perhaps it’s just trivial for them. Whether it’s true or not, when we make a boat and go outside, we’ll know." With that, Xu Yi looked towards the sea again.
