{'Broth…her, what are those things?'} With fear evident in her tone, Nyria asked while suppressing the innate urge to flee in the opposite direction the Trolls were heading.

{'Ice Trolls, key points: they heal really fast, hit really hard, wear armor, and have weapons. On the upside, they lumber, meaning theyre slow-moving, and their attack patterns are far simpler than what we have faced before. Oh, and they're Dumb, like ACTUALLY dumb, unless something is directing their movements, they pretty much just go on a rampage destroying anything that moves.'} Clutching his right hand with his left to stop it from trembling, Aoni rattled off a bunch of information for Nyria; however, there was still one thing he was uncertain of.

'Those spikes on their backs, I've never heard of anything like that on a Troll before. It's like they are carrying small ice mountains on them, like a movie monster that wrecks cities.'

**Think Godzilla Spikes on their Shoulders and upper back**

It appears that they have been surgically implanted with high-grade Energia Crystals

'WHAT!' Aoni screamed in his mind while his eyes flickered from the floating chat box toward the Trolls.

It is advised the Host uses extreme caution; although these Off-Shoot Species of Mountain IceTrolls carry all the known specifications of a standard member of their race, these ones are capable of using Powerful Ice Magic thanks to the integration of Ice Energia Crystals, and have become something similar to walking artillery units

'Gulp, so theyre literal walking tanks, is what you're saying. Mobile war machines,'

That would be a fair comparison

{'Brother, there are others with the big baddies…'}

As Aoni read through the messages from his Attribute Notice, his birb drew his attention; however, unlike her, his eyesight wasn't nearly good enough to spot the other mobs surrounding the trolls just yet, so he took her word and inquired further.

{'They have the same faces, weird bumpy noses, and are varying in size, lots of little ones maybe a bit bigger than Sister, and then four bigger ones that are taller than you!'}

'Shit, goblins and hobgoblins, that means THIS is the full tide then,' Feeling the pressure of impending doom settling on his shoulders, Aoni took a steadying breath, and his face morphed into a resolute expression.

'With this much firepower, while the walls of the fort will be able to hang in there, who knows what kind of damage the surrounding mountaintop will sustain.'

{'Nyria, go and wake up your sister. You may be the fastest of us in the air, but on the ground, she reigns. I have a plan, but for it, we will need to be stealthy.'} Looking over at her, Aoni calmly gave her a few head pats and sent her off.

---

Now alone, Aoni didn't wait for his summons to return and made a move.

Jumping off his perch and traveling through the treetops to stay out of sight from the enemies below, he circled behind the small army, trying to get a good grasp on the numbers he was facing, and soon enough, he was able to get a rough estimate.

'850ish goblins all between Gradeless and 1-Star, with the higher grade ones wielding primitive weapons and the weaker barehanded.'

'Four hobgoblins, on the weaker side of 2-Star, and Eight Trolls; the Hobbys are in charge of maneuvering the Trolls, so that means they will be my first target.'

Finding a decent vantage point, Aoni posted up some 200 yards away from the Hobgoblins and aimed.

'One shot, then move, heh, guess I can really be called a sniper now,' wearing a stupid smile, Aoni used his thumb as a sight and began molding Energia around his finger gun.

However, right before he was about to fire off the first round at an unsuspecting hobby, One of the four suddenly snapped their head in his direction and snarled sinisterly.

'Oh…no…'

"Atta so? Taat Chaat'oor!ITAA!" A Hobby sporting dinged up and battle-worn armor and covered in scars screeched in some strange language that Aoni couldn't understand, but clearly wasn't for him because not even a second later, a fierce guttural roar rumbled the air with such intensity Aoni could feel it in his chest.

"GROAHHHHHHh!" With a wave of its fatty arm, the 20+ foot-tall Troll nearest to Aoni lit up with a bright flash of blue light as the spikes on its back activated and launched a wave of instantly generated Ice Spears in his direction.

'Shit shit shit,' Watching the projectiles heading his way, Aoni didn't hesitate and fired off his fully charged bullet and kicked backward, flinging his body away from the tree.

Mid-air, he spun around, drew his swords, and ran for his life.

'Three left, nope, no time to worry about that!' Whipping his body around as he hooked one branch after another and kicked out with his legs, Aoni flew through the tree tops at speeds he normally wouldn't have tried, and well, wouldn't you if there were hundreds of ice spears rapidly bashing through every object behind you?'

CRASH, BOOM, CRACK CRASH

It was pure destruction, but since the Lad was quick to move, he had completely avoided the attack and even killed his first of four targets.

---

Safely some distance away now and surprisingly close to the barrier, Aoni slumped to his ass on a tall tree branch while staring at the direction he'd come from.

'That was fucking close… as if it weren't bad enough that Trolls are the pinnacle of Tanky beef; they now have ranged capabilities too, and overpowered ones at that. Hundreds of Ice spears in a second.'

'And all that for a measly 2 Progress Points,'

{'Nyria, I am on the Southwestern side of the mountain, near the barrier. Circle from the north and be careful not to use any Energia or attacks we've been learning.'}

{'On our way, brother,'}

{'Yawnnn, Brodder we amost dere.'}

Hearing the cute yawn from Glacia almost made Aoni snort, but given the fact that he'd just had a brush with death, that may just be a side effect of his sanity cracking ever so slightly.

'So it's finally happening; I've come up against a monster that can sense Energia, that's a problem.' Running his tongue along the inside of his bottom lip, Aoni stared off into the distance, toward where his enemies were positioned, and as expected, they had begun moving toward where he'd run off.

'Only a little smarter than those bugs, I suppose, falling for such a clear feint; at least it buys me some time to strategize with Nyria and Glacia.'
