Chapter 2819: The Method to Rescue Her

Zu An was confused as to what was going on. Isn’t it too early for me to meet her parents?

Isabella realized that she had gotten ahead of herself, so she hurriedly explained with a furious blush, “I asked my father about the items you needed, and my father replied that he might have a solution.” 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Zu An was overjoyed to hear that. The Universal Conglomerate commands untold wealth and influence across the Myriad Worlds. It might just have a way to do that.

The two of them soon arrived in Isabella’s room.

Isabella had a watch on her wrist. She tapped on it a few times, and a hologram appeared. It showed a middle-aged man standing in a study room. He wore a collared robe embroidered with profound runes. He had electrifying eyes that gave him an air of sharpness and authority.

“Father, this is big brother Zu. Big brother Zu, this is my father.” Isabella gently tapped on the ground with the tip of her right foot. Her expression showed her excitement, but there was also a tinge of embarrassment.

Even through the hologram, the middle-aged man’s gaze was so piercing that it could bore a hole through Zu An.

Zu An had been through too much to be shaken up by that, though. “Pleased to meet you, uncle.”

A hint of approval flashed through the middle-aged man’s eyes. “Pleased to meet you. I am Aragorn Acadia. You have my gratitude for saving my cherished Isabella.”

Zu An smiled. “That was the result of our combined effort. Isabella helped me a lot as well.”

“It’s rare for a young man as accomplished as you to remain humble.” Aragorn smiled. He proceeded to ask a few questions about Zu An’s background, such as his background and his homeland, only stopping short of asking about his eight characters[1].

Zu An was perplexed, but he still politely replied to the questions. Of course, he made sure to leave out sensitive information.

“Father, we’re here to request your help. Why are you asking so many questions?” Isabella grumbled, unable to take it anymore.

Aragorn laughed. “I nearly forgot about our main agenda. Isabella has told me about your circumstances. Only a handful of extremely unique artifacts in the Myriad Worlds will allow you to access ancient spacetime fragments to search for your old friends. One of them is known as the Nature Jade.”

Zu An replied, “I have chanced upon a Nature Jade, and I successfully traveled back in time with it. But it turned into a stone after one use, and it’ll take a long time to regain its functions. Do you know of any other artifacts like it?”

Aragorn was surprised. “Artifacts used to travel through spacetime are rare. Even with our vast information network, we only know about the Nature Jade. In the first place, spacetime is a jurisdiction exclusive to universal deities. That said, the fact that you obtained such an artifact proves that you’re blessed with great fortune. I’m sure you’ll find another way in the future.”

Zu An couldn’t help but be disappointed. Is there no way except to request a universal deity’s help? The Deity of Memory said that she knows a way, but I don’t know what tribute I have to offer to satisfy her.

Isabella anxiously interjected, “Father, didn’t you say that you have solutions for the other two matters as well?”

Aragorn quietly sighed. My daughter, you’re favoring him over your own father. “Isabella told me you require the Agate of Enlightenment and One Life Water. Our Conglomerate has the Agate of Enlightenment; I’ll give it to you when you visit our headquarters. I’ve browsed through our records for One Life Water, and there is some information on it. Let me verify the authenticity of the information first before sharing it.”

Zu An was overjoyed. “I don’t know how I can thank you, uncle.” To think that my unexpected meeting with Isabella would resolve Mi Li’s quandary.

“Those things are valuable, but they are nothing compared to Isabella’s life,” Aragorn replied. “The third matter is a bit more troublesome.”

Zu An’s heart skipped a beat. The third matter concerned Chu Chuyan staying in the Oblivion River for a thousand years.

“I thought of a few ideas, but only one of them is apt for your circumstances.” Aragorn didn’t beat around the bush. He opened a box beside him and retrieved an emerald card from within. He flicked his finger, and the card flew toward Zu An.

Zu An sensed a distortion in space before the card appeared before him. Astonished, he grabbed the card. Aragorn should be in the Universal Conglomerate’s headquarters, a long distance away from where we are. Yet he’s instantly transported an item over.

“Big brother Zu, that is the spatial transportation technology we have been developing. Unfortunately, it can only transport non-living items at the moment,” Isabella secretly explained to Zu An.

Aragorn’s expression darkened. Daughter, at this rate, you’re going to give away all our secrets!

Zu An smiled at Isabella before examining the card. It was extremely thin and had an emerald, jade-like color. It resembled collector’s edition cards in his previous life, though it was made of a far more valuable material.

Aragorn spoke up, “This is a super rare Emerald Card that wields the power to turn a living entity into a card. If you use it on your little sister, you can circumvent the rules of the Oblivion River and rescue her from it.”

“Little sister?” Zu An glanced at Isabella, and the latter averted her gaze. He figured that she dared not tell her father the truth. However, there was a more pressing question on his mind. “What does it mean to turn someone into a card? Do you mean it literally?”

“Yes, it literally turns a person into a card. Don’t worry, it won’t affect her day-to-day life. She can still function like a normal being.” Aragorn briefly paused before continuing his explanation, “Let me put it this way. Many entities might not necessarily be living beings. For instance, some beings are a stream of numbers in a supercomputer. We might also just be a simulation created by a higher-order being.”

Zu An understood what Aragorn was driving at. “What are the downsides of being turned into a card?”

“She’ll automatically be contracted to you, but that shouldn’t be a problem since you won’t hurt her. You can summon her to fight for you, though it’ll expend your energy. Also, the method for her to raise her strength will be different. She’ll have to consume special materials and cards to evolve...”

Zu An frowned. There were quite a few limitations.

Aragorn consoled, “You don’t have to worry. This card is one of the most precious ones, even within our Universal Conglomerate. It has a high power ceiling, so it won’t hinder your little sister from growing stronger. Personally, I think the downsides are a small price to pay to escape a thousand year imprisonment.”

“Thank you for your generosity.” No matter what, Zu An was glad he had found a way to save Chu Chuyan.

Aragorn laughed. “You saved Isabella and shared Death’s authority with her. What I gave you is nothing in comparison. I’ll need time to prepare the Agate of Enlightenment, so I’ll give it to you when you visit our headquarters. Hopefully, I will have confirmed the information about the One Life Water by then.”
