Keyboard Immortal-Chapter 2820: A New Lease on Life
After the call ended, Isabella turned to Zu An with an apologetic look. “Big brother Zu, I was planning to invite you to the Conglomerate as a guest, but you’re going to rescue big sister Chu, so I won’t hold you up.” 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
“It’s all thanks to you. You did me a huge favor. After I rescue Chuyan, I’ll pay a visit to the Conglomerate to express my gratitude.” Zu An was thrilled. He had resolved half of the three problems that had been troubling him.
Isabella nodded with a strained smile. She had hoped to visit Zu An’s world, but her father issued a strict order for her to return right away. Her father was worried about her after the dangers she had been through, and he wanted to inspect the Death authority in her as well.
She'd tried to buy some time, saying that she would return after visiting Zu An’s world, but Alfred stopped her. It was demeaning for someone of her standing to visit Zu An’s world when their relationship hadn’t been confirmed. Furthermore, she would be at a disadvantage against Zu An’s many lovers.
It would be wiser to wait for Zu An to first visit the Universal Conglomerate and confirm their relationship with her father before visiting his world.
Isabella was young, but offspring of major clans knew the importance of doing things the right way. It was just that her emotions had gotten the better of her. After Alfred’s reminder, she gradually calmed down and decided to return to the Conglomerate to wait for Zu An.
She pulled a starship model out of her bag and handed it to Zu An. “Big brother Zu, your world is too far away from Dreamland. You should take this starship instead. It might be smaller than a typical starship, but it’s a smart vehicle equipped with an auto navigation system. Our headquarters’ coordinates have also been entered into the system, so you can come visit me whenever you want.”
Zu An was completely flabbergasted by the insanity of her casually pulling out a starship and giving it away. “Alright, I’ll look for you after I’m done handling things on my side.”
“I’ll be waiting for you.” Isabella pursed her lips. Redness tinged her cheeks.
Zu An could already tell what was going on from her shy and expectant look.
Aragorn had said that he would hand him the Agate of Enlightenment when he visited their headquarters, but that was clearly an excuse. He could have delivered the item using their spatial transportation technology.
Ultimately, Aragorn wanted him to visit the Conglomerate to give his daughter greater leverage. Zu An wasn't averse to that. He thought that it was only right for a father to do that for his daughter.
That night, Zu An and Isabella chatted about the Conglomerate and the Cultivation World. The Myriad Worlds was a huge place, so neither of them knew when they would reunite after parting ways.
Isabella had been worried about Firework disguising as her to fool around with Zu An, so she hadn’t been sleeping well in the past few nights. Now that Zu An was beside her, she felt calmer than ever. At some point while chatting, she lay on his shoulder and fell asleep.
Looking at Isabella’s long eyelashes and delicate features, Zu An felt a rush of fondness for her. He took off his outerwear and draped it around her.
Initially, Alfred was still worried about them, using the pretext of delivering tea and snacks to check up on them. His heart was finally put at ease when he confirmed that Zu An had been maintaining propriety all this time.
Just like that, Zu An sat with Isabella by the beach, taking in her scent while gazing at the beautiful sky and serene ocean. His heart was tranquil and warm.
The following day, Isabella woke up and immediately blushed furiously. She wiped off her drool while feeling so embarrassed that she could almost cry. “I’m sorry, big brother Zu...”
How embarrassing! I fell asleep while chatting. Sleeping on a lover’s shoulder should have been something romantic, but I ended up getting drool all over big brother Zu’s shoulder!
She even wondered if she should hang herself to atone.
“It’s fine. I find it adorable. Hahaha.” Zu An chuckled.
“Big brother Zu~”
After Zu An consoled Isabella, it was finally time for the two of them to part ways. Isabella reluctantly waved her hand as Zu An boarded the starship and left Dreamland.
This starship was nowhere near as big as the one he had arrived on, but it was much faster. It leaped straight into a wormhole and traversed through folds in space. All Zu An needed to do was key in the Cultivation World’s coordinates, and the starship would automatically navigate its way over.
The starship also had all kinds of robots to service him. He could simply issue an order to the AI for them to get moving.
While traversing through a wormhole, a monster tried to attack the starship. Zu An didn’t even need to lift a finger for its self-defense system to obliterate the monster. Meanwhile, if a monster appeared that was exceptionally strong, the starship would go into stealth mode and make a detour.
Zu An was amazed by how advanced the Universal Conglomerate’s technology was. No wonder they are able to do business in so many worlds.
Little did Zu An know that Isabella had handed him a state-of-the-art starship equipped with the crystallization of the Universal Conglomerate’s most advanced technologies. Aragorn had given it to his daughter for her protection, but the latter had given it away just like that.
Months later, the starship finally reached the Cultivation World.
Zu An stopped the starship some distance away and stowed it away before discreetly entering the Netherworld. He didn’t want to deal with anyone else right now; he simply wanted to save Chu Chuyan as soon as possible.
When he reached the Bridge of Forgetfulness and saw the silhouette wrapped in a lotus, his heart quivered. “Chuyan...”
Chu Chuyan sensed his arrival and woke from her rest. She was delighted as well. “Ah Zu, you’re back?”
“Mm, I’m back!” Zu An flew onto the lotus pad and embraced her tightly.
Chu Chuyan tenderly embraced him back. “How was your trip? Did you encounter danger?”
“We can talk about that later. I have found a way to save you.” Zu An took out the Emerald Card and explained its use to her.
“Turning into a card?” Chu Chuyan was hesitant. These concepts were much too futuristic for her.
Zu An summarized the pros and cons for her. “I’ll leave it to you to decide whether you want to use this card or not.”
Chu Chuyan smiled. “Using it spares me from a thousand years of suffering, and I can be with you all the time. There’s no reason for me not to.”
Those words dispelled the final slivers of Zu An’s hesitation. He activated the Emerald Card using the method Aragorn had taught him. Soon, a gentle ray of light shrouded Chu Chuyan’s body.
Chu Chuyan quickly examined her body, but she didn’t sense any anomaly. Moments later, she morphed into a ray of light and entered the card.
The Oblivion River began to rage. Countless vengeful spirits stretched their hands forth to pull Chu Chuyan back.
Zu An’s expression turned cold. He exerted his authority as the Netherworld’s master to quell the vengeful spirits. However, the Oblivion River appeared to have gained a will of its own as it tried to re-imprison Chu Chuyan.
Zu An’s expression darkened. He couldn’t stop this phenomenon as the Netherworld’s master, as it was one of the fundamental laws governing the Netherworld.
The will scanned the Emerald Card, but it was unable to find its target. A long time later, it reluctantly dissipated.
Zu An was stunned. What’s this Emerald Card? It bypassed the Oblivion River’s influence! No wonder it’s one of the rarest cards in the Universal Conglomerate’s collection!
A beautiful woman wearing a light blue dress appeared in the previously empty card.
Zu An was so mesmerized that he gently stroked the card. I can see why there were so many card collectors in my previous life.
He suddenly felt a ripple in his heart. He quickly used the card’s summoning method. The card lit up before transforming into a beautiful lady.
But Chu Chuyan’s face was a little red. “Ah Zu, your touch made me feel itchy...”
