Chapter 113: The Reinhard Family

It was quite surprising. Aiden didn’t expect Helen to come straight to him. Helen stepped closer, her face right in front of Aiden’s. That didn’t make Aurora happy.

The white-haired girl looked aggressive. She moved quickly to stand in front of Aiden, brandishing her sword, which was charged with powerful magical energy.

Seeing the young lady of the Reinhard family being threatened by a stranger, the guards at the gate and the horse-drawn carriage escort appeared to be on alert. They raised their shields and thrust their iron spears forward.

Everyone was on high alert! The life of Young Lady Helen was far more valuable than the lives of ordinary guards like them. Aiden was certainly aware of their change in attitude.

He gently patted Aurora on the shoulder to try to calm her down. Slowly, Aurora began to dispel the magical energy from her sword, then sheathed it again.

"Phew," Helen sighed in relief, her life had been saved.

"I apologize for my friend’s behavior. She didn’t mean to threaten you," Aiden replied.

"It’s fine. I’m sure she had her reasons for acting that way," Helen replied, turning her head to the side of Aiden so that her eyes met Aurora’s.

"Welcome to the Reinhard family residence. Do you need anything?" Helen asked.

Aiden glanced briefly at Aurora, then looked back ahead and nodded firmly.

"That’s right. We plan to form an Independent Group to improve our abilities. I heard that only the approval and recognition of the noble families can help us," Aiden explained.

"That’s correct!"

According to Helen, there were already six Independent Groups approved by the Reinhard family. The amount of initial registrants reached 15 groups, but only six groups were allowed to start their independent missions.

Helen explained the test in detail. The test was called the Group Courage Test. In the test, each independent group that registered had to be able to defend themselves against a group of noble elders.

The higher the status of the noble family they register with, the more difficult the test becomes. But if they pass, they will gain the prestige of carrying the Reinhard family name.

Among the highest ranks of nobility, 1-3 were the royal nobility. 4-6 were the regional nobility, and 7-10 were the city nobility.

With the remarkable development of Lunor City, it was no surprise that the Arcanis Kingdom awarded the Reinhard family the title of 8th-rank city nobility.

Helen led them into the city. As far as she knew, there were already three independent groups that had registered before Aiden’s group. In total, there were four groups that would challenge the elders of the Reinhard family.

"While you were gone, the Academy Head was really busy," Helen replied.

"They’ve been watching the Fire Fountain Hill to prevent something similar from happening," Helen explained.

"Are they still hunting me?" Aiden asked, and Helen nodded.

"Yes. However, you don’t need to worry. The Reinhard family has promised to protect you and your family," Helen replied.

Aiden was startled by her answer. He had managed to escape the academy elders’ pursuit, but he had abandoned his family. He believed the academy must be intimidating his parents due to his actions.

"My family? What happened to them?" Aiden asked, emitting a strong red aura equivalent to that of a High Mage.

Helen was startled, raising both hands to protect herself. Surprisingly, a man appeared and helped Helen. He extended his hand to cast a water spell, forming a solid shield.

"Aiden?" said the white-haired man, wearing a blue noble suit with sharp blue eyes.

He clenched his fist and stopped Aiden’s intimidating magical aura. Aiden was pushed several steps back, feeling the magical power of the white-haired man was far stronger than his own.

"Impressive. You’ve been gone for two years, but your abilities are almost on par with mine," the man replied.

"Who are you?" Aiden asked.

"My name is Henry Reinhard," Henry explained, standing with his hands folded behind his back, exuding authority.

Not only Henry, but others appeared beside him. Four people arrived in the same attire; they were the elders of the Reinhard family.

"So, you’re the one who saved me from the Main Test of the Astralis Magical Academy?" asked Henry.

"Helen and I happened to be close friends during the Main Test. As a friend, of course I had to protect her," explained Aiden, making Henry laugh loudly.

"Haha, just as I thought, you would say that," said Henry.

Aiden fell silent. He immediately asked about Helen’s earlier words, about the Reinhard family saving his family. Henry sighed, he had to do what he thought was right.

"From the Main Test, Helen’s group was destroyed, leaving her alone. When you met her, I thought you would hurt her and take the golden slip. But my guess was wrong," Henry explained.

"You protected her, even until the end of the Main Test. In fact, you gave up your chance to advance to Iris class just so Helen could pass the test," said Henry.

"Since then, I swore in front of all the elders and members of the Reinhard family that I would protect you and your family," replied Henry.

"Before the people from the Astralis Magic Academy captured them, they left Byrone to arrive in Lunor. Now, both of them are under my protection."

One of the elders came to fetch Leonora and Jack. The gate to the residence opened, and the two stepped forward to see their long-lost son return. Leonora and Jack ran towards Aiden, and Aiden did the same.

The three embraced each other, releasing the long-held longing in their hearts. Leonora cried with happiness, she was happy and glad to see Aiden return and grow into a man.

"I’m glad to see you’re alright, my Aiden," said Leonora.

"I’m fine, Father, Mother. How about you? Did the Reinhard family treat you well?" Aiden asked.

"They were very kind to us. You don’t need to worry about that."

Aiden nodded happily. If the Reinhard family could ensure their well-being, then Aiden had nothing else to worry about.

"Your name is listed in the A-level wanted list, not the high level," explained Henry.

"Still, the people from Magical Astralis will hunt you down because, to them, you are a valuable asset," said Henry.

"I understand the consequences. After all, this is the path I have chosen. I have to take the risk," explained Aiden, turning his head firmly.

"Good. Forming an independent group is a wise decision given your situation. With that group, you’ll only be responsible to us, the Reinhard Family."

"Alright, let’s not waste any more time. Let’s begin the Group Courage Test!"
