Incubus Ascension-Chapter 39
Beatrix’s eyes widened as she stared at Liam. "How the hell did Director Elena accept that man to work here? He’s a monster under human skin!"
Liam shrugged his shoulders, trying to keep his voice even. "Maybe because he paid a donation or something."
He watched her hold her chin, fingers tapping lightly while she thought it over. That guy had to be after something inside Ark Academy.
He was too much of a manipulator to show up and do the work himself instead of sending someone else to handle his dirty business.
Liam could see the wheels turning in her head, and it made his stomach twist a little. He knew she was right to be suspicious.
Then she gave a firm nod. "I’m joining Ark Academy too. I need to watch what he’s really after."
Liam looked at her and felt helpless. He had promised to help her kill her father, so now he had to help her get into the academy.
It wasn’t like he could just say no after everything they’d been through. That promise weighed on him, but he meant it.
He remembered something else. "You’ll need some kind of papers for Elena to accept you. Do you have any?"
She shrugged. "I don’t know. We can fake it."
Liam smiled wryly. "We can’t. We’d be in big trouble if Elena caught us."
He sighed. "Tomorrow I’ll talk to her. She’s had a good impression of me lately. She might say yes if I ask."
Beatrix glanced over at Olivia again and told Liam, "I’m spending the night in my house. I’m sick of hearing them."
Olivia blushed hard, clearly catching the hint and looking away fast.
Liam offered, "I’ll take you home."
Once Olivia was safely on her way, Liam and Beatrix walked together and stepped through the door of her home above the coffee shop.
The familiar smell of coffee beans still lingered in the air even though the shop downstairs was closed for the night.
As soon as they were inside, Beatrix noticed Liam’s face looked shaken.
It had been like that ever since he came back from Director Elena’s test that morning.
She grabbed his arm, pulled him over to the couch, and made him sit. "What’s wrong? Why the long face?"
Liam tried to push the sad look off his face and forced a smile. "It’s nothing."
She shook her head. "Tell me the truth. I know when you’re hiding something."
Liam let out a long sigh and told her everything. "Director Elena ran a test on me this morning.
I met this clone, an illusion based on you. During the test we... we grew closer, and I couldn’t stop feeling like she was the real you.
It messed with my head. She looked like you, sounded like you, even acted like you. For a while I forgot it wasn’t real."
Beatrix flipped her hair back as she sat across from him on the couch. Did he fall for my clone? That’s absurd. I need to show him who the real one is.
She reached out and grabbed his hand. "Why don’t you spend the night here in my house?"
Liam nodded. He pulled out his phone and called Olivia. "Don’t wait up for me. I’m spending the night at Beatrix’s place."
Beatrix smirked to herself. My chances.
After dinner, which Beatrix had cooked, Liam headed to the guest room. The food had been simple but good, and it helped him relax a little.
A little while later the door opened slowly. Beatrix stepped in wearing a thin violet nightgown that clung to her body, the fabric soft and short enough to show the smooth skin of her thighs.
She walked straight to the bed, leaned over, and slid his pants down, taking his underwear with them in one smooth motion.
Liam’s heart beat faster. What does she want? His mind spun with surprise and a rush of heat that made his breath catch.
She smirked. "Just to show you who the real one is."
She lowered her head. Her warm, soft lips wrapped around him, taking him in slowly at first.
Her tongue moved in smooth, wet circles, teasing the tip before she slid deeper, her mouth hot and tight around him.
She sucked with steady rhythm, her head bobbing up and down while one hand stroked the base in time with her lips.
Every pull felt slick and eager, her eyes looking up at him the whole time, full of heat and purpose.
The wet sounds filled the quiet room, and Liam felt every swirl of her tongue, every gentle scrape of her teeth, every time she took him deeper until her lips pressed against his skin.
Liam couldn’t hold back. He came hard, spilling into her mouth. Beatrix drank every drop, swallowing without hesitation. She thought to herself, I could get addicted to this.
The next morning Liam walked to Elena’s office with Beatrix right beside him.
He asked her to accept Beatrix as a student.
Inside he was nervous she would turn them down because of the missing papers. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
His palms felt sweaty, and he kept wondering if this was going to blow up in their faces.
Elena smiled. "What a coincidence. I was just talking to a transfer student too."
She stepped to the side. Liam’s eyes widened when he saw the girl standing there.
It was the handler, the one who was going to become his new classmate.
The girl looked at him and said, "My name isn’t Handler. It’s Crya."
They all headed to class together. Everyone sat and listened while Teacher Simon gave his lecture.
From the outside Simon looked like a perfect gentleman, but Liam couldn’t help thinking, Tsk.
Simon’s eyes paused for a moment on Crya, then he kept talking like nothing happened.
At the end of the lecture Simon told them, "Follow me outside to the academy field. I’m holding a special test for all of you.
The one who wins gets 100 AP points. And the one who loses..."
