Immortal Supreme: Sovereign of the Grand Dao-Chapter 290: Proposal and Treasure Map of the Martial Emperor Secret Realm
"That’s why I need your help Prince Arthur."
Arthur was quiet for a moment. Then he spoke. "The Emperor already told me about your situation. About the treasures you seek and the danger you face."
Lady Ayara nodded. She wasn’t surprised by that.
’As expected. He already knows and was probably expecting our contact...that means...’
"He asked me to assist you if you requested it," Arthur continued. "Besides, your sect and the empire are allies now. It’s natural that we would help each other."
Relief washed through Lady Ayara’s body. Her shoulders relaxed. "Thank you, Your Highness. Your generosity and understanding mean more than you know." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"However," Arthur said, "I want to know specifically what you’re looking for. What treasures are so important?"
Lady Ayara nodded. "There are several items. Some are cultivation techniques that belonged to our sect master."
"Others are artifacts she left behind. All of them are precious to us not just for their power, but for their sentimental value."
"And you believe they’re definitely inside the secret realm?" Arthur asked.
"Yes," Lady Ayara confirmed. "Our sect master left clues before she vanished. We’ve spent years deciphering them."
"We’re certain that she hid these items in the Martial Emperor Secret Realm for safekeeping."
Arthur leaned back slightly and smiled, "What can you offer in return?"
Although he had no intentions of taking advantage of their situation considering their connection to Cora.
He can’t act too generous as that might make them suspicious instead.
Lady Ayara had been expecting his question, it would be weird if he wanted to do it for free, such is the cultivation world’s system.
"I have a gift for you, Your Highness. Something that I believe will be valuable."
She reached into her robes and pulled out a small jade case. She opened it carefully and removed a piece of aged parchment. "This is a fragmented map of a section of the Martial Emperor Secret Realm."
Arthur’s interest was caught. He leaned forward slightly.
"This map shows the location of a powerful treasure, although we are not sure what treasure it holds exactly" Lady Ayara explained.
"Moreover, my sect members are nowhere near powerful enough to acquire it. According to our records, one’s power would have to reach the Martial Ancestor realm to even have a chance of obtaining it. And even then, success isn’t guaranteed."
One of her companions spoke up for the first time. "But Elder Sister, only those below the Martial Emperor realm can enter the secret realm. The restriction is absolute. Those at the Half-Step Martial Emperor realm and below can enter, but no one higher."
"Exactly," the second companion added. "How could anyone at Martial Ancestor level enter when the realm itself forbids it?"
Lady Ayara remained calm. "That’s precisely why I’m offering this to Prince Arthur." She looked directly at him through her veil. "Most people would see this map as useless because of that restriction. But I don’t believe Prince Arthur is like most people."
Arthur studied the map without touching it yet. "You’re saying you think I can somehow meet that requirement despite the realm’s restrictions?"
"I’m saying that I feel you are a truly favored one, Your Highness," Lady Ayara said. Her voice carried conviction. "The heavens smile upon certain individuals. Everything I’ve learned about you suggests you’re one of them."
"Your talent, your achievements at such a young age, even the excellence of your household. These are not things that happen to ordinary people."
Arthur’s expression didn’t change. Internally, he found irony in her words. ’Favored by the heavens?’ he thought.
’I’m an enemy of the heavens themselves. If they knew my true identity, they would be scared and wary of my existence.’
But he said nothing to correct her assumption. "I see," was all he replied.
"Do you accept then?" Lady Ayara asked. She extended the jade case toward him.
Arthur reached out and took it. He examined the map briefly. His divine sense swept over it, analyzing the information.
The map was genuine. The location it showed was indeed within the secret realm. And the treasure it marked was significant.
"I accept," Arthur said simply. He closed the jade case. "Consider it payment for my assistance with your sect’s treasures."
"Thank you, Your Highness," Lady Ayara said. Genuine gratitude filled her voice.
"Is there anything else you need to tell me about the treasures you’re seeking?" Arthur asked. "Specific locations? Dangers I should be aware of?"
Lady Ayara nodded. "Yes. There are several locations we believe the items are hidden. I can provide you with detailed information about each one. As for dangers..." She paused.
"The secret realm itself is dangerous enough. But there will also be competition from other forces. Many powerful young masters from all five continents will be entering."
"I’m aware," Arthur said. "I’ve already obtained the Rising Dragon Rankings list. I know who the major competitors will be."
"It appears you’re already well-prepared," Lady Ayara observed. "I should have known."
They spent the next several minutes discussing specific details. Lady Ayara provided information about the treasures’ likely locations.
She explained what each item looked like. She described any protective formations or guardians that might be present.
Arthur listened carefully and asked relevant questions. His mind was already forming strategies. He catalogued every piece of information she provided.
’This can actually be beneficial for me too,’ he thought.
’If it was before I wouldn’t even spare something like this a glance or take such opportunity serious considering the reserves in my Nine Heavens Palace.’
’But now that I have lost all my resources. Recourses that even immortals would be broken hearted at their loss.’
’I need to make the most of every opportunity to gather real resources.’
Arthur then thought of the Fate Gem which he already knew he would use. So he wasn’t anxious about resources.
Finally, their discussion reached its natural conclusion. Lady Ayara prepared to stand. "Thank you again for your time and assistance, Your Highness. We won’t forget this kindness."
Her companions also prepared to leave. They bowed respectfully.
But as Lady Ayara began to turn toward the door, Arthur spoke.
"Wait."
