Chapter 289: Meeting with Lady Ayara

Lady Ayara stood in the private chambers that had been assigned to her group within the palace.

The room was spacious and well-furnished. Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting warm light across the polished floors.

Three women stood with her. All four wore veils that concealed their faces.

The atmosphere was tense as they prepared for the upcoming meeting.

"Are you certain about this, Elder Sister?" one of the women asked. Her voice carried worry. "Can Prince Arthur truly be trusted?"

Lady Ayara turned to face her companions. Though her face was hidden, her posture showed confidence. "I trust my instincts," she said firmly. "They’ve kept us alive this long."

"But we barely know him," another woman pointed out. "He’s young. Barely more than eighteen years old according to the rumors."

"Age means nothing when it comes to talent," Lady Ayara replied. She moved toward the window and looked out.

"Besides, we’re already in an alliance with the empire. The Emperor himself gave his indirect consent for us to approach his son."

The third woman stepped forward. "Sister you weren’t there in the tournament so you didn’t see it." She spoke to the one who had spoken earlier.

The other one responded, "So what? Is he really that incredible?"

"Indeed."

The woman asked again, "What if he refuses?"

"Then we’ll find another way," Lady Ayara said simply. "But I don’t believe he will refuse. Something tells me Prince Arthur is different from others." She paused. "Did you sense that fluctuation yesterday?"

The women exchanged glances. One nodded slowly. "Yes, Elder Sister. It was faint but unmistakable. That energy signature..."

"Exactly," Lady Ayara said. Her hands clenched slightly. "Which is why we must meet with him. If there’s even the smallest chance..."

She didn’t finish the sentence. She didn’t need to. Her companions understood.

"Very well," one of them said. "We’ll follow your lead as always."

Lady Ayara nodded. "Good. Let’s prepare ourselves. We’ll be summoned soon."

Twenty minutes later, a palace servant arrived at their door.

He bowed respectfully. "Lady Ayara, Prince Arthur is ready to receive you. Please follow me."

The four women adjusted their veils and followed the servant out of their chambers.

They walked through multiple corridors of the palace. The servant led them toward the prince’s private mansion within the palace grounds.

As they walked, Lady Ayara observed everything carefully. The palace was well-maintained and organized.

But nothing prepared them for what they saw when they entered Prince Arthur’s residence.

The moment they stepped through the entrance gates, the difference was immediately apparent.

The entire mansion radiated an air of excellence that surpassed even the Emperor’s main courts. Every detail was perfect.

The gardens they passed were immaculately maintained. Not a single leaf was out of place.

The pathways were spotlessly clean. Flowers bloomed in organized patterns that were both beautiful and precise.

But it was the staff that truly caught their attention. The maids and servants they encountered moved with practiced efficiency.

Their clothing was unique and far more regal than what palace servants typically wore. The fabric was high quality. The designs were elegant yet practical.

Each servant they passed bowed at exactly the same angle.

Their movements were synchronized as if they’d been trained together for years. The level of organization was astounding.

One of Lady Ayara’s companions leaned closer and whispered, "Elder Sister, this is..."

"Extraordinary," Lady Ayara finished quietly. Her eyes took in every detail.

They were led through more corridors. Each hallway was decorated with taste and refinement.

Paintings hung at perfect intervals. Sculptures stood in alcoves. Everything had its place.

Lady Ayara’s mind was working rapidly. ’This level of organization doesn’t happen by accident,’ she thought.

’This requires incredible attention to detail and absolute control. Indeed, this Prince Arthur is no ordinary person.’

Her thoughts turned to recent events. The rebellion that had threatened the empire just weeks ago had been quelled so swiftly and efficiently.

Many people whispered about how it happened. Some credited the Emperor’s power.

Others spoke of mysterious circumstances.

’Could Prince Arthur have had something to do with it?’ Lady Ayara wondered. ’The timing is too convenient. And if his personal mansion shows this level of excellence, what else is he capable of?’

She is of the opinion that the little things reveal the bigger things about a person.

They arrived at a set of ornate doors. The servant who had guided them stopped and knocked three times.

A voice from inside called out, "Enter."

The doors opened smoothly. The servant gestured for them to proceed inside. "Lady Ayara and her companions, Your Highness."

Lady Ayara stepped through first. Her three companions followed close behind.

The room they entered was large but not overwhelming. It had been designed for comfort and private discussion.

Arthur sat near the far end of the room. He was dressed in formal robes that marked his status as a prince.

His posture was relaxed as he sat in a cushioned chair. But his eyes were sharp and observant.

Lady Ayara and her group bowed respectfully. "Your Highness," Lady Ayara said. "Thank you for agreeing to meet with us."

Arthur gestured to the seats arranged across from him. "Please, sit. Make yourselves comfortable."

Lady Ayara sat gracefully. Her three companions remained standing behind her.

They positioned themselves like guards, though Arthur noted they were also clearly disciples or sisters rather than mere servants.

"Would you like tea?" Arthur offered.

"Thank you, but that won’t be necessary," Lady Ayara replied.

"I don’t wish to take up too much of your valuable time, Your Highness."

Arthur nodded. "Then please, speak freely. What brings you to request this meeting?"

Lady Ayara appreciated his directness. She didn’t waste time with excessive pleasantries.

"I’ll go straight to the point, Your Highness. I need your help."

"With what?" Arthur asked calmly.

"The Martial Emperor Secret Realm opens in one month," Lady Ayara began. "As you may know, my sect has reason to enter. There are treasures inside that once belonged to us. Items that were lost when our sect was destroyed."

Arthur listened without interrupting.

"I want to ask for your assistance, Your Highness," Lady Ayara continued.

"I need you to help my sect members, whom I call my sisters, in acquiring these lost treasures. We cannot do it alone. The secret realm is too dangerous and the competition will be fierce."
