I was Kidnapped for Revenge by a Ruthless Alpha-Chapter 182: Council meeting pt 2
*** Author’s note*** Here’s a longer Chapter for you. I’m trying.
~Ambrose~
When the chaos erupted in the room, Odette’s family just stood watching, unmoved and unbothered. I would expect nothing less of any coldblooded creatures of night.
I stood up, but before I could react Odette held up her hand, stopping me from reacting.
’I will handle this.’ Her gesture told me without even having to read her mind.
She slowly stood from her seat. Her eyes glowed their brilliant, violent, shade of red, the ones that first stole my heart. Suddenly the air shifted. The goddess in her was rising. Her eyes changed from red to white. The power was flowing off her spreading threads of her raw, electrical power throughout the room. Tendons of power grabbed hold of the unruly shifters in the room and pulled them into their seats, cementing their feet into the floor.
Her voice carried that echo of an ancient goddess when she spoke, her words made Onyx obey instantly. "Silence! You are in the presence of your goddess and Luna Queen, you will obey." She unleashed her aura. The room fell silent and everyone in the room except for her family, looked down, their eyes glue to the floor.
Once the silence stretched long enough, she pulled her back in, letting those of us with wolves breathe again.
"Please, family take an open seat." She gestured toward the randomly placed open seats.
She had specifically asked for there to be no names, forcing shifters and vampires to sit near each other. I loved the idea, but then again, a good dose of drama brings a reminder, and the remainder is what will bring us together.
But Damon, he just questioned her reasoning skills and sanity.
Which I found hilarious.
Her father took the seat across from me and the rest scattered around the room taking different seats. Scowls matching both sides. Disgust was clear as day on their face, and I had to try my damnedest to not let my laugh out.
Watching these old cranky men squirm in their seats, wonderful. I internally chef kissed.
I didn’t hate seeing her family suffer either. Their face expressed an equally grotesque expression; it looked like they were holding their breaths.
Odette looked over to her father, King Asher, "Where’s Arya?" She frowned.
"She is with your witch, Artemasia. They had a breakthrough." King Asher answered, his voice was cold, and cordial, no sign of him being the affectionate father I had seen him be. It was incredible knowing such a shift could exist.
And Odette carried herself like a well-groomed lifelong trained luna. Onyx and I smiled inwardly.
She was born for this role, and it shows with how natural she is at it. Onyx remarked proudly.
I agree.
Their words surprised the council. Probably because they knew how much of a closed off person she is.
They whispered words of disbelief among themselves.
Luna Dawn of the WanningMoon Pack spoke next "Alpha King Ambrose and Luna Queen Odette, thank you for calling this meeting and bringing us in on your plans, finally."
She had a hint of disappoint that stung a little. Luna Dawn ran the pack after her alpha passed away, and she refuses to dishonor her memory by taking another alpha. She has an alpha wolf, so with her packs support and my backing she became our first and currently only alpha acting luna.
Jaylin was a female alpha, she happens, though rarely.
"I apologize for the secrets, but as you know not all ears and eyes in this room can be trusted with this kind of information. I had to keep it quiet to protect the plan, the alliance, and Odette." I answered her formally and respectfully. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Who do you mean when you say some people in this room? Alpha King Ambrose?" Alpha Drake of the EarthMine Pack yelled.
"Lower your voice when you address your alpha king and queen luna." Alpha Lucian spoke up finally.
Alpha Lucian was one of my strongest and most loyal alphas. Next to Dawn and Alpha Cameron He is the one I turst most with my life on the battlefield.
"Who are you to tell me to lower my voice?" Alpha Drake snapped his neck in Alpha Cameron’s direction; he looked like he was ready to rip off Cameron’s face.
I chuckled inwardly at the idea of Cameron putting Drake in his place. Drake was a weak alpha, that’s why he always had something to prove.
"The fact my wolf would eat yours alive." Cameron answered flatly and unapologetically.
I had to stifle another laugh.
"I’d like to see you..." Before he could finish Luna Dawn interrupted the two snarling wolves.
"Ladies, if we could please act like experienced council members that would be greatly appreciated." Luna Dawn scolded them "Now, Alpha King Ambrose, please continue."
The silence in the room cooled.
Scowls and glares were exchanged all around the room as they were forced to endure each other’s presence.
"I have a duty, one that is higher than my duty to the pack. My wolf Onyx, he is the first wolf and the guardian of the MoonChild. My secrecy was to protect her, which is my first and primary priority given to me by Artemis."
"How do we know it was not just revenge against the people who killed our leaders? I believe I heard you had a little revenge plan. Through the grapevine that is." Alpha Darius added.
"It was, you are correct. Originally, I took her for revenge and then fate played a cruel joke on me. Fating me to the daughter of my enemy. The murderer of my parents, and the thief responsible for stealing my childhood. But as a park we were blessed. The Moon Goddess deemed us, deemed me, worthy of her daughter." I started to confess.
I decided to let the room in on a secret that plagued us for many years.
I looked at King Asher, my father-in-law, and at Odette, and then back again. Speaking to him directly. If this alliance is to work, I need to set the example.
"King Asher, I took your daughter, and not even for a second do I regret it." King Asher narrowed his eyes and frowned at me, for a second his silver eyes, flashed a violent crimson red. The same color as Odette’s. The same color of the men and women who killed my family.
I felt rage boil in me for a moment, before I calmed the storm that threatened my peace.
"My plan was to take from you, what you took from me. To return the pain you caused me and all of my people tenfold. So, I took what was most precious to you and I attempted to break her." I felt guilt rip at my chest. and claw at my throat.
My face fell and with an apologetic look, I shifted my gaze over to Odette as I continued. "But she wasn’t breakable. Bendable. Or even Beatable, I dare say. Nothing I did worked, and that intrigued me. My plans later changed from breaking what you loved most, to taking it for myself, making her fall in love with me and pick me over you."
Odette frowned. Pushing thoughts into my mind. ’Are you serious?’
’I’m showing all my cards.’ I pushed back.
Her eyes narrowed further and I could feel her rage inside me. Bubbling to a boil.
"But that plan was a lie. A lie I told myself so I could justify the feelings I was developing. The want, desire and need that I shouldn’t want but did. I nearly lost her and that changed everything. I knew then I was full of shit with my fake revenge plan. Fate played a cruel trick mating me to the daughter of my enemy. My hostage. My prisoner. But gifted me the best gift I could ask for at the same time. It gave me you." I ended the story that was directed toward her father with a direct message to her.
’I love you.’ I pushed the thought into her mind.
’You bastard, I’ll punish you later in training.’
’Don’t threaten me with a good time.’ Somehow her threatening me with harm made my cock throb with need.
’I found out she was my fated mate that night. And come one you guys, be honest." I looked around the people seated at the table, my eyes falling on each member of my council. "Would you guys have accepted her as your luna? No? And because of that, I kept her a secret while I worked out a plan. But it seems the goddess had it all figured out and the night I marked Odette and crowned her luna, the goddess appeared before our eyes."
I let the words resonate with everyone before I continued. "She made it clear, her will and our destiny. There are bigger threats to our lives and survival than a feud with vampires."
"But! Alpha! Reconsider please! They killed our Alpha King and Luna Queen! They broke the treaty! How can they be trusted?" Alpha Darius crossed a line, and now part 2 of my confession.
"What you know to be true is only half the story. Only until recently did I learn the truth of that night." I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Looking to Odette for support. And she gave it, reaching her hand out to mine and nodding her head.
"The vampires were justified in their attack, based on the terms of the treaty. It was a secret, one hidden and buried for years, Alpha Micheal was obsessed with the vampire princess Violet and broke into the vampire’s mansion and stole her. Alpha Micheal, my uncle abused her. He sexually assaulted her. and my father. He’s guilty of the worst crime, he cheated on his fated mate and joined my uncle in his assault on Violet. The vampires came to get their princess and took blood as bounty. Violet Drakarys was first a victim and then also our savior, she put an end to the bloodshed. She could have let us all get annihilated, but she didn’t she showed mercy. Which is more than I could say for many of you."
