Chapter 107: Red Wind Senior Core Team Confrontation

The Red Wind students from every grade level—looking fierce, savage, and clearly like post-apocalyptic gangsters who had been hanging out around flaming barrels scattered across the court—started approaching them, carrying their weapons.

"Okay... we’re fucked up. Get back, babe," Jason said, pulling Kimberly behind him and grabbing the strap of his sniper bag.

"Yep, exactly... just get ready," Dennis replied, pulling Daisy behind him and raising his fists.

"You, get back," Gary said, stepping forward and pulling Olivia back, then standing next to Dennis while readying his hand on the hilt of the sword at his waist.

"Okay," Kimberly, Daisy, and Olivia replied, each gripping their husband’s arm from behind.

They were immediately surrounded by Red Wind students who fanned out to the left and right, circling them. Then, six Red Wind students stepped forward. Leading them was a young man with a massive, bodybuilder-like frame that made his uniform look far too small under his black jacket. He had a buzz cut, a chain bracelet on his wrist, and carried a large baseball bat with a sickle attached to the end, which he rested casually on his shoulder.

He scanned the faces of Dennis, Daisy—who was hiding behind Dennis—Gary, Olivia—hiding behind Gary—and Jason and Kimberly, who were tucked away behind Jason. He looked the six of them up and down, then back up again as if inspecting their uniforms. Then, he offered a friendly smile and shoved his free hand into his jacket pocket.

"You guys from Emerald Military School? My name’s Lucas, just call me Luke. I’m the leader of the senior core team here at Red Wind," Luke said.

"Hmm... I think I recognize you guys. Oh yeah, my name’s Noah, also a member of the senior core team," muttered a young man named Noah standing next to Luke. He had ordinary hair but wore a nose ring, dressed in a leather jacket with a lean, modest build and a pair of three-clawed gauntlets on both hands.

"Whoa... no doubt about it, they’re the ones from that video... the same ones who got Sean and the others suspended for vandalism... ah, that’s right, I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name’s Cole, one of the senior core team members," said a young Black man named Cole. He was bald, wore earrings in both ears, a gold chain around his neck, and carried two long-barreled pistols at his waist.

"Yeah... and because of Sean and his group, our school got banned by theirs. My name’s Kai, I’m the sniper for the senior core team," said Kai, who was carrying a sniper bag. He had tan skin and dreadlocks, and as he spoke, he looked over at Jason and winked with a smile.

The atmosphere turned tense and silent. No one spoke; the only sound was the crackling of the fires inside the barrels. Dennis, Gary, and Jason—shielding Daisy, Olivia, and Kimberly behind them—stared at the four senior team members from Red Wind. They tried to figure out what they wanted, as the seniors stood there blocking their path and judging them with their eyes, surrounded by a sea of other students.

But suddenly, someone stepped forward from behind the four seniors, while a massive figure stood in the back with his arms folded across his chest.

"Hey, knock it off, you guys are scaring them. Sorry about that... they’re just introducing themselves. My name’s Ezra, I’m on the same team as them... oh, and this is Yuri, another member," said Ezra, a young man with a blonde mohawk and green skin—clearly a half-orc. His face was full of piercings, and he wore a sleeveless uniform that showed off arms covered in ethnic rune tattoos. He had a well-proportioned build and carried a staff like a shaman as he introduced the young man behind him.

"Hmm... hmmm," a young man even larger than the rest, with short white hair and bear ears, a square face, and the look of a giant polar bear, stood in the back. He simply nodded without speaking when Ezra introduced him as Yuri.

"Alright, let me introduce myself. I’m Gary, from the new core team at Emerald Military Academy," Gary said, presenting himself.

While Gary introduced himself and the rest of the team, Dennis used his analyze skill to gauge the strength of the senior core team standing before them, who clearly looked fierce and terrifying. A large interface opened up, displaying the status of the six Red Wind senior core members, complete with their photos.

Dennis was stunned seeing the strength of the Red Wind core team standing in front of him, his wife, and his friends. Their power was clearly above average, and almost all of them held special classes.

"This is insane. So this is what their power looks like—way above Ivan’s team," Dennis muttered to himself.

[Relax, Master, I don’t sense any ill intent from them.]

"Hmm... I hope you’re right," Dennis said.

He turned his attention back to Gary, who had finished introducing everyone. Then, Luke stepped toward Gary. Dennis immediately braced himself, but suddenly, "tap," Luke placed a hand on Gary’s shoulder and smiled while giving a thumbs-up. He then turned to look at the crowd of male students surrounding them.

"Scatter! This isn’t a show!" Luke shouted, his voice booming.

Without hesitation, the Red Wind students who had hemmed in Dennis, Daisy, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly immediately dispersed, heading back to their flaming barrels to hang out. The sudden shift left Dennis, Daisy, and the others a bit confused.

"Sorry about that. Sean and his team caused trouble for you guys. Me and my team weren’t happy with how cocky and arrogant they were. We let them step up just so they’d get a lesson, but they ended up tarnishing our school’s name instead," Luke said.

"Oh... so that’s how it is," Dennis replied, surprised.

"So they acted on their own and caused a riot using the school’s name—typical spoiled brats," Jason added.

"Well, that’s the problem. Just because they’re rich kids, they act however they want, and we’re the ones who take the hit. But whatever, what’s done is done, right?" Kai said, casually shrugging his shoulders.

"So that’s how it is," Daisy added.

"Please don’t think all Red Wind kids are like them. Sure, we’re free here and look like gangsters because the school gives us that freedom, but it doesn’t mean we’re delinquents," Ezra explained.

"Yep, exactly what he said. And don’t group us in with those guys who hit on girls. All six of us are already married, right guys?" Cole said, leaning on Ezra’s shoulder and raising his hand to show off his ring.

Daisy, Olivia, and Kimberly could see that Luke, Noah, Cole, Kai, Ezra, and even Yuri—who still had his arms folded—were all wearing wedding rings. They finally felt a sense of relief.

"Thank goodness for that," Olivia said, relieved.

"But the rules at our school and Willow actually allow us to find our own partners without any arranged matches, so if the students from these two schools get a little wild, just bear with it," Luke said casually.

"If it’s like that, we can still understand. I thought every kid at Red Wind was a jerk like Sean and his friends," said Kimberly, who also looked relieved.

"We apologize for the behavior of Sean and his team. When they return, we promise to teach them a lesson," Cole said.

"Thank you," Gary replied.

"There is one mystery here. Why did you guys enter through the emergency path connected to Willow School? Were you at Willow before this?" Noah asked, pushing up his glasses.

"Hmm... hmm," Yuri muttered, nodding in agreement with Noah’s question as he waited for an answer.

"Oh," muttered Dennis, Daisy, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly, falling silent and unable to answer. They weren’t supposed to be inside Red Wind without permission, and they felt like intruders caught red-handed. On top of that, they had already heard about the feud between Red Wind and Willow from Rachel and her team, so one wrong word could turn the whole situation into a mess.

The air grew heavy again as the seniors waited for their response, while Dennis and his team racked their brains for an answer that took the tension between the two schools into account, but suddenly,

"Hey... what’s going on here?"

Everyone turned to see a man in his 30s with a buzz cut, a thick beard, and armor, carrying a rifle and wearing a headband, approaching them.

"Mr. Gerald," the six senior team members greeted him.

Gerald immediately looked at Dennis, Daisy, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly, scanning them. His face was stiff and stern, looking like the type of man who didn’t accept nonsense as an answer and hadn’t smiled in a long time.

"Hmm... why did you enter this school? You’re students from Emerald Military Academy, aren’t you?" Gerald asked.

"Meet our gym teacher, Mr. Gerald Payton," Noah said, introducing him.

Seeing a Red Wind teacher standing right in front of them, the faces of Dennis, Daisy, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly turned even paler than before. They hoped their unauthorized entry wouldn’t bring them trouble in the future.
