I was Kidnapped for Revenge by a Ruthless Alpha-Chapter 183: The truth hurts
~Narrator~
The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop and so stiff, bones looked easy to bend.
Everyone looked uncomfortably silent. The weight of the truth was so heavy it shattering them.
No one dared lift their head their heads or say anything. What could they say?
Their king broke their most sacred law, cheating on their fated mate. It was directly spitting into the goddess face.
"How do we know what you say is true?" Asked Alpha Drake. A petty arrogant alpha filled with greed, but he never let his pack suffer to satisfy he greed. Only others.
"Because it was me and my family who killed your king and queen, Violet was my woman, my lover, my chosen mate, my life and she was taken. Taken from her own room. The worst part, your king assaulted not just the vampire princess, and future queen, he assaulted a pregnant girl. Violet was pregnant with our daughter, Odette. Your beloved king could have been responsible for the death of the MoonChild, damning the entire fucking world." Ash was fuming. His rage steamed off him. His eyes were glowing so red there was no white.
’The audacity of these men’ Ash thought to himself. ’These pompous pussies can’t handle the truth.’
"Do you have any proof of this? Can you present any evidence to support your accusation?" Alpha Mason asked.
He was usually the more neutral ally to Ambrose, so naturally Ambrose was curious about Alpha Mason’s suspicion of him.
"I do. I can call a witness. A reliable one. But I’d rather not reveal their identity." Ambrose answered Mason’s question.
"Good, put these old men next to me to bed about their need to question a victim."
This made Ambrose smile. ’That sounded more like him’ he thought.
"That would be appreciated. I can’t work with vampires without proof they aren’t betrayers." Alpha Drake growled.
Ash had been keeping his cool, but his mask was cracking and his cool collected control was slipping.
"Are you questioning my loyalty to the treaty? When it was King Ambrose’s uncle who kidnapped my wife and King Ambrose kidnapped my daughter, and I am the one who needs questioning? Think again, it is you who need to prove vampires can trust you. Not the other way around." Ash snapped at the other alphas. His rage barely contained.
Ash was extremely protective over Violet and Odette, but especially Violet, she had always been softer and in need of protection. His daughter could kick his ass, he didn’t have to be as protective over her. She could handle things herself mostly.
"Because you’re a vampire!" Alpha Drake howled.
"And you in a room full of wolves, are little mutt!" Ash slammed his palms hard on the surface of the table and yelled.
The room stilled again. Alpha Drake couldn’t believe what he’d just heard. He was called a mutt in the council room and no one said anything. No one corrected him. The word just hung in the air floating around them. Mocking Drake.
"Enough. Already, jeeze, there’s bigger things than us. If Ezelreth gets what he wants we’re all doomed. Especially the shifters. So if you value your life and legacy Alpha Drake, I’d suggest showing some obedience to your Alpha King and Luna Queen." Alpha Cameron spoke now, getting annoyed with their pointless bickering.
"Thank you, Alpha Cameron." Odette nodded to him in respect, which pleased him. The young vampire luna knew and respected their traditions.
"Tell us, darling, what is our next move." Lilith said. Her voice carried years of wisdom and controlled power.
Odette felt warmth spread through her chest hearing her Mammy’s affectionate name for her.
She still wasn’t used to having everyone with her. Well... Almost everyone...
Odette had been thinking during a lot of their bickering on a solution.
And she had a crazy idea. She hadn’t talked to Artemasia about the possibilities and repercussions of this, but it was worth some thought.
"Ezelreth is a being of repressed hatred and discontent that eventually led him to evil. He is no longer capable of love, so he can’t appreciate loss. He doesn’t have ’people’ he needs to protect. He just has wants and desires. And we can use that, guilt free. No mortals as shields or bait even." She licked her lips and repositioned herself. "We need to hinder his mobility, his access. We need witches with protection magic. We can’t stop him, but we can inconvenience him and slow him down."
"What is your suggestion Luna Queen Odette?" Luna Dawn asked eagerly, she was intrigued by what this smart little queen had in mind.
"I think we should block weylines. If we keep them from being able to access them, we stop his hordes easy access. I also want to relocate packs to places nowhere near weylines and destroy all fae rings within 200 miles of the new territories. This is where I will need your help and cooperation, alphas, we need to, temporarily, redraw pack borders to allow for refugees." Odette continues with her crazy plan. "Now again this is temporary, it’s only so there’s no confusion when we rebuild. Because we will win this."
"Vampires will be stationed and training along side wolves. I want real effort put into cooperating. I’ll punish both sides for any and all altercations. I want to find more wild magic users and create a coven, and I want to put Artemasia as the head witch. Train the new witches and create transport stones. I want to a fucking arsenal of stones." Odette paused and shifted her eyes to Alpha Lucian "This is where I need your help, I need you to increase production of magic gems. And Alpha Drake, I need to arm and an entire military force, so despite our differences we need to work together."
Alpha Lucian nodded approvingly without say a word. Alpha Drakes scowl deepened at the mention of them working together. Odette didn’t care she just continued with her plan.
"It won’t be just rogues we’re facing, but monstrosities born of pain and suffering. They are relentless and will stop at nothing to feed. They will devour anything. Humans, vampires, shifters. They don’t discriminate. They feast. We trained soldiers, armed soldiers, and well protected soldiers." Odette was unstoppable as she unpacked everything for them. And they all silently watched and listened to her speak.
"In the past, we won, but only by imprisoning him. This time. We will destroy him. I will trap his soul and rid our world of the stone once and for all. I will find a way to destroy him. That I promise you all."
