I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 64: A-Rank
Blaze leaves the blushing Alyson behind and walks out of the house.
He still needs to retrieve Isaac without blowing the location of his house.
Alyson runs after him and shouts, "Where are you going?"
"I have some business to attend to. Don’t worry, I’ll return before sunrise."
The sun won’t be making itself known until nine or ten in the morning, so Blaze still has a lot of time.
He turns into the Wraith, equipping the Shadow Tattered Cloak and Tattered Mask.
With the newly acquired powers from the Shadow Tattered Cloak, Blaze now has a new form of traversing.
He only used the Grappling Hook previously, but now he can teleport.
Blaze runs straight into the desert. His entire shadowy figure disappears in a black smoke and then reappears again three meters away.
The teleportation power that is provided by Shadow Phantom, the former One with Shadow.
Blaze keeps running and teleporting.
The feeling of your body dematerializing is exhilarating. It almost feels like you step into a steep slide that propels you instantly toward the new location.
All the tissues inside your body scream of adrenaline and fulfillment.
Blaze can’t control his excitement any more and keeps on spamming the teleportation.
His figure flickers in and out of sight, skipping three meters with each teleportation.
But the power has its limits, after ten teleportations, a dizziness overwhelms Blaze that almost causes him to fall on his butt.
He slows down his movement and stands in place to recover.
The dizziness fades eventually but still leaves a slight hint of tiredness left in Blaze’s mind.
"This power can’t be used too many times."
Blaze mumbles. He finally calms himself down and keeps running into the desert.
The inconvenience of all this helps Blaze to realize the role for his next Ethereal Slave.
He needs a mount. A fast beast that can help him travel long distances.
Another task needs to be done.
Blaze then uses the Hidden Power Shadow Form and seeps into the ground surface.
He wants to test and see if running as a shadow is faster.
His shadow isn’t faster at all.
"But maybe..."
There is another ability that this Hidden Power received when the Tattered Cloak was upgraded, which is to transform the appearance of Blaze’s form of shadow.
The black outline of the hooded figure turns into a wolf. It glides on the ground much faster than the humanoid form.
Then Blaze changes again. Now the wolf shadow looks like an eagle.
The speed of the eagle is more stable. Blaze only needs to spread his wing, and the shadow will move at high speed, much less effort than the wolf form.
But still, Blaze isn’t satisfied. The eagle shadow can move real fast, but its maneuverability is limited.
He can’t turn sharply like before.
Blaze tries to think of something that can move fast but also be very agile when turning. He suddenly remembered the Destruction Beam.
That Beam is very fast. Slower than the lightning coming out of the same wand but much faster than most animals, and it can easily turn when it wants.
But the question is, can Blaze’s Shadow Form turn into something not alive.
The answer is yes. Blaze turns into a shadow of a laser beam, darting on the ground with insane speed, and easily turns to avoid any obstacle.
If the shadow touches an object or an elevated part of the ground, it will start climbing up that surface, hindering its maximum speed.
By avoiding those obstacles, Blaze can maintain a high-speed movement without sacrificing too much momentum.
It takes him a while in this form to reach where Isaac is.
As a soul, he knows no tire, so Isaac just keeps on flying around the area that he found for Blaze.
Blaze needs an area to go through metamorphosis. It requires being secluded and secretive.
Isaac chose a crevice inside a canyon. This place is far from the city and isn’t near any living household or building. The crevice also provides a natural hiding spot from the eyes above.
People will need to be extremely close to even notice that someone is under the crevice.
Isaac finds a large enough crevice that naturally created a wide empty space. It is at least ten meters long and around five meters wide, enough space to do almost everything.
Blaze arrives at the scene and rises from the surface of the ground. His shadow form slowly turns back into the three-dimensional figure.
Isaac drops down from the sky and lands on his shoulder.
"Master! You have arrived!"
Blaze nods.
"Good work."
"It is my duty, master!"
"Go fly around and keep watch for me.
If anyone comes close, call me in your thoughts, and I will know."
"Understand, Master!"
Isaac takes off and once again becomes the eyes in the sky for Blaze.
Blaze takes a look at his Inventory.
[INVENTORY]

5. x10 Jade Scale
6. x30 Snake Flesh
7. x1 Berserker’s Blood
8. x1 Diamond Skin
9. x27 Matchsticks
10. x5 Celestial Contract
With the 27 cubic meters of storage of the Diametric Cube, the weight of responsibility for Blaze’s original Inventory becomes much lighter.
He no longer needs to worry that the Inventory is so full that there isn’t any grid left to receive a reward.
The Diametric Cube also operates based on cubic space and not a grid-like system like Inventory, which allows it to hold many more items.
The two downsides to the Cube are: One, other people can rob the Diametric Cube while the Inventory is completely safe; And two, Blaze cannot recall equipment out of the Cube like when they are staying inside the Inventory.
The first weakness can easily be nullified by putting the Cube inside the Inventory. While the second is impossible to fix. Blaze has to store his weapon in the Inventory in case he needs to call them out.
Blaze also puts all the Cores and Materials he collected in the Void inside the Cube for obvious safety reasons.
The Destruction Wand appears in Blaze’s hand.
His first-ever weapon and the one that System custom-made for Blaze.
It feels extremely good in the hand and is always reliable.
It is the only weapon that has stayed relatively the same since the beginning. It awakens a new Hidden Power Arcane Conduit, but that is simply absorbing Blaze’s Force Shocker to use on Lightning Strike.
Now, Blaze will have to taste the pain that many of his enemies have faced before. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
[Force Shocker]
- Special Evolution Line: Thunder Force (A-rank)
- Unlock requirement:
1. You are struck by Lightning Strike produced by Destruction Wand seven times: 0/7
2. Experience points: 0/2500 EXP
To upgrade a B-rank power to A-rank, the System requires 5000 EXP. This is not a small number by any means.
But Blaze can use 2500 EXP only to upgrade Force Blast to Thunder Force, saving half of that amount.
Blaze buys a Blood Potion first, wasting 200 EXP. This is insurance in case the damage exceeds his calculation.
Blaze stretches his left hand out and holds the Destruction Wand with his right hand.
"Be gentle with me, bone."
Blaze mumbles. He really wishes the Destruction Wand had a dial to adjust its power. It can make this process so much more manageable.
