I can upgrade the shelter-Chapter 768 - 666 Training Begins
After the resolution to form a joint force to maintain the security of European countries was passed, the Euro-aid fleet began constructing new barracks and producing equipment for the incoming forces.
The primary task of this force is to maintain the deteriorating security and domestic order of European countries, and to familiarize the European forces with the new equipment they have acquired to form combat capabilities against alien creatures. Naturally, there is a high priority in obtaining equipment. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
In fact, the European countries had long planned to directly arm a force with the new equipment and then send them to the battlefield.
Previously, due to production capacity issues, the equipment the European countries obtained from the Euro-aid fleet was only in small batches, which could only be sporadically sent to the front lines. This supply was provided to the most needed troops, but the insufficient production meant it was impossible to re-equip an entire force.
They could only arm a small number of people or distribute it as squad weapons. This portion of troops equipped with new weapons would serve as reserves and a mobile force, to be deployed or support the front line when needed.
Although this approach wasn’t ineffective, this small-scale re-equipment clearly couldn’t maximize the effectiveness of the new weapons.
Moreover, this method of "putting sugar in well water" didn’t significantly contribute to the overall improvement in combat capability.
After all, only a few obtained the new weapons, which accounted for a very low proportion of the total number of front-line soldiers, while the vast majority still used their original weapons.
Originally, European countries hoped to acquire more new equipment, ideally to arm an entire force at once, or better yet, to re-equip the defensive troops on the front line all at once. However, this was only a fantasy limited by the production capacity of the industrial base of the Euro-aid fleet.
But with Chen Xin’s construction work on establishing sub-bases in Europe, the continuous resources obtained from these sub-bases greatly enhanced the production capacity of the industrial base while satisfying the production needs. This made the implementation of the plan possible.
Otherwise, even if countries passed the resolution to build a joint force, there wouldn’t be enough equipment available for them. They would still have to wait for the industrial base to gradually produce equipment or hope that Flame Country could transport some equipment from the homeland to Europe to arm this force.
Fortunately, with the sub-bases operating smoothly and European arms factories able to produce related components after receiving production technology and blueprints from Flame Country, the production capacity of the industrial base was quite sufficient, and the newly established production lines could operate at full capacity.
The production of equipment sufficient to arm a brigade’s troops would only take about a month, and this included the small Land Ships to be provided to them.
The design of these small Land Ships was inspired by the design concept of domestic small industrial ships, optimized based on the Mobile Base, capable of accommodating a company of troops for garrison, and carrying their weapons and affiliated vehicles.
These small Land Ships, due to their ability to fly, did not have helicopter take-off and landing functions or hangars for helicopters, only a garage for parking armored vehicles to carry the vehicles of the affiliated company.
Moreover, being a miniaturized military vessel and used jointly with Europeans, Chen Xin carefully decided to remove the greenhouse cabin on the ship, making this type of Land Ship reliant on external supply inputs, unable to maintain self-sufficiency for long durations.
This decision significantly saved space and reduced the size of the small Land Ship, making it much smaller than the Mobile Base and almost a pocket-sized warship.
And the company stationed on this small Land Ship, after discussions with the homeland, was confirmed to be composed of three platoons, with Flame Country’s military accounting for two-thirds. Only European forces that have completed re-equipment and adaptive training could be assigned to these small Land Ships, making up the remaining one-third.
The main reason was to ensure sufficient manpower for maintaining security and ensuring Flame Country’s control over the Land Ships.
After all, Flame Country hasn’t opened the Land Ship technology to European countries yet. If European countries had any ideas about the Land Ships, they couldn’t forcibly seize control of the Land Ships without having the advantage in numbers.
On the other hand, the original plan of European countries was for a brigade to receive equipment, undergo adaptive training, and assist Flame Country’s forces in maintaining security during this process. Once their training was complete, the entire brigade would be deployed to the front line, and another brigade would be rotated in from the front line to start training anew.
However, this plan was rejected by Flame Country, with the modification that one-third would undergo adaptive training. After completing adaptive training, they would commence realistic combat training, assisting in maintaining security only after passing realistic combat training, until the next batch of trained soldiers comes in for rotation.
Europe’s plan undoubtedly aimed to quickly and in large numbers obtain forces equipped with new gear. Training brigade by brigade could quickly complete the equipment and training of large numbers of troops, but consequently, the primary task of maintaining security fell on Flame Country’s forces.
Although maintaining security was the primary mission of Flame Country’s brigade sent to Europe, even so, Flame Country was unwilling to do all the work by themselves, with the Europeans just getting involved as a minor player.
Thus, they revised the training plan. Although according to this modified plan, the output of forces equipped with new gear changed from one brigade every three months to one regiment every month. Although the overall training speed didn’t change, it became more sustainable.
Moreover, this method better executed the task of maintaining security and allowed these re-equipped forces to gain more combat experience through security maintenance operations.
Although these troops consisted mostly of seasoned veterans pulled off the front lines for recovery, the deployment of Exoskeletons and Electromagnetic Rifles represented a complete change in weaponry, bringing significant combat power changes. Even these veterans had to undergo adaptive learning anew and modify their previously established combat habits.
Though Europe wasn’t very fond of Flame Country’s plan, after some discussion and negotiation, they were eventually persuaded and agreed to the plan.
The first batch of troops selected for training was drawn from domestic forces of European countries, quickly assembled, and then sent to the newly established barracks by Flame Country for stationing.
