The Unveiling of Secret Queen-Chapter 1814: After All, You’re Still Family…
She could roughly guess what Celine Tucker was planning.
So when Nathalie Quinlan went to the hospital, she was mentally prepared, thinking that if Mr. Zachmann asked her, she could temporarily hold back and give Caryn a hand, and wait until Mr. Zachmann’s health improved to talk about it.
Who knew that when she went there, Mr. Zachmann didn’t mention Caryn Zachmann’s matter at all, as if he didn’t know she was going to court trial the next day. He just told Nathalie not to worry too much about him, that he was in good health and nothing would happen...
After all, Mr. Zachmann had been in a coma for so long this time, his body was very weak. Although he had woken up, his spirits weren’t very good.
After he forced himself to say a few words to Nathalie, he waited until Stanley Zachmann rushed over, then soon fell asleep wearily.
Seeing him asleep, Nathalie went over to tuck him in and gestured everyone else in the ward to step outside.
The other members of the Zachmann Family knew her prowess by now, even Bernard Ingram didn’t dare provoke her and immediately tiptoed out of the ward.
A group of people left grandiosely.
Nathalie was the last to walk out.
After coming out, she gently closed the door for Mr. Zachmann.
...
Outside the corridor.
Not a single member of the Zachmann Family who had come out earlier had left; they were all standing outside waiting.
All the way until Nathalie walked out.
Everyone’s line of sight focused on the girl.
Although no one had the temper to step up and ask, everyone actually wanted to ask Nathalie about Caryn Zachmann’s trial the next day.
Amadeus Yancey had accompanied the girl, and he was the third last to come out. After coming out, he leaned against the wall waiting for Nathalie.
All the way until Nathalie came out, his brows eased with fatigue, and he walked over, adjusting the direction of the girl’s duckbill cap, gently lowered his head and asked her, "Do you want to go to the third floor to find a doctor and ask about Mr. Zachmann’s condition?"
"No need." Nathalie relaxed quite a bit after coming out, her brows and eyes were quite restless, she raised an eyebrow, and softly said, "Before I came, I called Professor Sullivan to ask."
Before she came, she had wanted to call Winston Sullivan to come along.
Later, after hearing Winston Sullivan say that Mr. Zachmann’s health condition was relatively stable, she gave up the idea.
"Alright." Amadeus responded, not mentioning it anymore, hands in pockets, his voice low and mellow, "Mr. Zachmann is asleep, probably won’t wake up for a while... How about we head back first and come back together later in the evening?"
Nathalie had been quite busy the last two days.
Jaycent Kingsley had some matters he needed her for.
She had been busy with Jaycent’s matters the past two days and hadn’t had good rest at night.
She heard Amadeus’s suggestion, lowered her eyes to seriously think for a moment, just about to agree, when an annoying voice forcefully interrupted her.
"Um."
Nathalie turned around and saw Bernard Ingram looking at her sheepishly, a look of hesitance on his face, speaking, "Nathalie, the trial is tomorrow, would you go to the detention center to see Caryn?"
She saw the girl looking at her with dark pupils, her gaze quite cold, devoid of emotion, and ignoring her. Bernard regretted speaking out so boldly. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Why bother provoking this Nathalie, who isn’t to be trifled with!
But having already opened his mouth, Bernard could only brace himself and awkwardly continued his own words, "Um... I didn’t mean anything else, I heard Caryn is causing a fuss wanting to see you at the detention center."
"I’m thinking, after all, you’re cousins. A family is connected even when the bones are broken, you aren’t particularly busy, might as well go see her, see what she wants to say..."
Bernard’s son was pulling at him vigorously, to say less.
Bernard wanted to save face, liked to put on the airs of an elder, and figured since the topic was broached, he might as well finish speaking.
"Nathalie, I heard about her stealing your prescription. But after all, you are family. Given her situation, if you can help, you might as well lend a hand, or what if she gets sentenced? She’s still so young..."
