I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 15: Iron Snatchers I
Chapter 15 - Iron Snatchers I
{Father}.....
Rex heard a low, distant voice, as if someone was calling him from far away.
{Father}...
"Ugh," Rex groaned as he slowly opened his eyes, rubbing them.
A faint, lingering pain, like jolts of lightning, coursed through his body.
He glanced around, half awake, but as the memories rushed back, he jolted upright, remembering—he had been kidnapped.
{Father}
{Arcane? How long was I unconscious?} Rex questioned, hearing Arcane's voice calling out to him repeatedly in his head.
Rex didn't know for how many hours, or days, he was out for.
Darkness consumed his surroundings, when he opened his eyes, so complete that even his hands disappeared from view as he held them up to check.
Sniff! Sniff!
Rex inhaled deeply, the familiar scent in the air stirring fragments of memories. Though faint, it reminded him of the forest where he had spent most of his life.
I'm sure I'm somewhere around the same forest, He mused.
{Father, I don't know what 'hours' are, but the sun hasn't risen since you were unconscious.}
"So, I was out for just a few hours?" He mumbled,
Rex realized that the slight pain he felt upon waking—or perhaps the pain itself that jolted him awake, was caused by Arcane releasing lightning from within the Tamer's Sanctuary.
Rex took note of this critical information, but for now, he set it aside and shifted his focus to his surroundings.
He stood up with ease and began examining the area cautiously in the pitch-black darkness.
As he moved, his leg bumped into something or rather, someone. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a villager lying unconscious on the ground.
He also noticed that his armor and dagger had been confiscated, leaving him unarmed and vulnerable.
Rex tried walking in all four directions, trying to make sense of where he exactly was.
And after a thorough check, Am I Inside a Caravan? he wondered.
He moved toward the caravan's exit and carefully peeked outside.
The moonlight illuminated the area, making it easier for him to see.
After confirming no one was around, he stealthily slipped out of the caravan.
Can I save everyone, or should I just run? He carefully contemplated.
First, I'll gather as much information as possible about these bandits. Then I'll decide whether to save them or not.
Rex heard distant chatter from one direction and carefully approached the source.
As he got closer, the faint glow of a campfire illuminated the figures of 8-10 bandits. He stopped a safe distance away, crouching behind a bush to observe them unnoticed.
"Hahaha! This time we've hit the jackpot. That kid is good-looking and healthy," one bandit laughed, his tone laced with greed.
"We'll definitely get good money for them," another added with a smirk.
"Come on, boss," a third voice chimed in. "At least let me have some fun with one of the merchandise. I've been loyal to the Iron Snatchers, haven't I?"
"..."
Rex observed the bandits reveling in their success, their laughter echoing in the night.
Narrowing his eyes, he shifted his focus to each one of them, activating his [Eye of Tamer] to check their statuses.
Fortunately, everyone was mortal just like him, except for the one being called boss.

I can't use Arcane here. There's a high chance the fiery jaguar might sense it, Rex thought, realizing he was likely on the outskirts of the outer area, just barely inside the forest.
And I can't kill that boss either. He's not like those gray wolves I fought, Rex shook his head.
After a few moments of careful thought, gathering all the information he could from his surroundings, Rex formulated a plan...
A plan to save everybody.
This might be slightly dangerous, but nothing new to me, Rex thought as he slipped quietly into the depths of the woods.
In the darkness, with only the moon's light, his surroundings were faintly visible. Staying on guard for any ambushes, he quickened his pace, though the familiarity of the terrain eased some of his tension.
As Rex ventured deeper into the woods, passing countless trees and plants, his eyes caught a small, familiar plant swaying gently in the wind.
A smile tugged at his lips. This will be useful for waking them up, he thought. It was the same plant Korr often used when preparing medicines.
He attempted to use [Eye of Tamer] on the plant, but unlike usual, no panel appeared!
Rex plucked a small petal, and a sharp, pungent smell immediately hit his nostrils.
He instinctively jerked his hand away and turned his head sideways to avoid the overpowering scent.
"Uggh...cough," The smell is really strong. Rex grimaced at the strong smell before quickly pocketing the plant.
Darius had given Rex his clothes, as Rex had only been wearing scraps of beast hide.
After wandering for a while, he finally found what he was looking for.
A beast with the same ranking as that gang's boss.
Yes, his plan was simple: lure the tiger beast to the bandit's camp, let them fight for their life, and use the chaos to rescue the villagers before escaping the forest for good.
Hiding behind a tree, Rex used Eye of Tamer to check the beast's status, ensuring he wasn't walking into a death trap against something far stronger than he could handle.

Once Rex confirmed the beast was at 1-star rank, he cautiously increased the distance between them, ensuring it couldn't close in on him too quickly.
He picked up a small stone from the ground and hurled it at the beast. The stone bounced off the ground and struck the tiger's leg.
Then, Rex stepped into the tiger's view. The moment the beast locked eyes with him, he bolted, ensuring the tiger chased him.
The forest rustled with the sound of snapping branches and crunching leaves as the chase began.
