I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 16: Iron Snatchers II
Chapter 16 - Iron Snatchers II
The forest rustled with the sound of snapping branches and crunching leaves as the chase began.
Rex skillfully navigated the terrain, but as he gained significant distance, the tiger slowed down, losing interest and beginning to veer off.
Noticing this, Rex smirked and began teasing the tiger, waving his arms and making taunting gestures, though not as excessively as the monkey once did to him. But it worked.
The beast roared in anger, its pride wounded, and charged after him with renewed ferocity.
A few times, the tiger unleashed its abilities, shaking the terrain in an attempt to destabilize him.
However, with the considerable distance between them, Rex easily balanced himself without breaking his stride.
He sprinted through the forest, his eyes locking onto the faint glow of firelight in the distance. Without hesitation, he leaped out from behind a bush, landing directly in the bandit's campsite, unannounced.
His eyes darted around, scanning the crowd of bandits for their boss.
A smirk tugged at his lips when he spotted him.
Without wasting a moment, Rex sprinted straight toward the boss and slipped behind him, using the man as a shield from the oncoming beast.
ROAR.
"Fucking hell! Whose kid is this?"
"And that... beast. W-why is it here? We're on the outskirts of the forest, for fuck's sake!"
The man named Mork shouted, his voice laced with a mix of frustration and fear, as Rex hid behind him.
However, no answers came to his question.
Instead, the tiger pounced on mork in a fit of rage, determined not to let its target be protected today.
"Fuck! All of you, kill this goddamn beast now! Run, and I'll kill you on the spot even if I die!"
The bandits, who had begun scattering in fear at the sight of the ranked beast, froze in place at their boss's threat.
Reluctantly, they regrouped and prepared to face the enraged tiger.
As the beast and the Iron Snatchers clashed in a chaotic battle, Rex seized the opportunity. He stealthily backed away, blending into the shadows, and vanished into the bushes without a sound.
Rex took a wide detour, carefully circling the chaotic area from behind. Once he confirmed no one was guarding around the caravan, he moved toward it with quiet, deliberate steps.
Rex patted his pocket, ensuring the Smellythorn plant was still there. Satisfied, he climbed into the caravan. Activating Eye of Tamer, he quickly spotted Darius lying unconscious in the pitch-black interior.
Rex pulled out the Smellythorn plant and carefully placed it near Darius's nose.
"Ugh... Cough, cough..." Darius groaned, startled awake by the sharp scent.
"It's me, Rex. Don't panic and stay quiet."
"..."
"Do you know how to ride a caravan?" Rex asked in a low, urgent tone.
"We are in a caravan?"
"Yes, but answer me."
"I can ride it, but... what about the other villagers?"
"Don't ask too many questions. Take this plant and wake everyone up," Rex instructed, handing the Smellythorn plant to Darius. subtly suppressing the urge to sniff his hands.
"I've confirmed everyone's here. I'll be back in a minute, and then we leave." Rex said firmly before slipping out of the caravan, his movements swift and quiet.
Rex carefully made his way back toward the direction of the fight, staying low and moving silently through the bushes.
As he got closer, Rex could hear angry roars and enraged shouts from the beast and mork.
Rex scanned the area and noticed all the bandits were dead, except for the gang leader, Mork, who was still fighting the beast alone. While cursing Rex.
Mork was severely injured and had lost an arm, while the beast had also been badly wounded.
Both of them were battered with numerous injuries, Rex noted.
Rex had come here for two main reasons...
One, to ensure the bandits wouldn't cause trouble again by returning to the village—he wanted to be thorough and confirm they were all truly dead.
By the looks of it, they'll both end up dead, Rex concluded after assessing their severe injuries.
And the other reason was...
To devour orbs!
He had instructed the system to tame two mortal humans before heading into the forest. And by the time Rex led the beast to the camp, he already got the system's message of them both being successfully tamed.
Just moments earlier, while handing the plant to Darius, Rex received a system notification informing him that his tamed entities had been killed.
So, here he was to collect his Orbs.

System, show me that message again, Rex commanded.
Rex agreed, and two small orbs appeared at the edge.
Mork and the tiger beast were locked in an intense battle, completely oblivious to Rex quietly sneaking in to retrieve the orbs.
As for the other bandits? Every single one of them lay lifeless on the ground.
He grabbed the orbs and commanded, System, start taming Mork. Deciding to tame their leader as well, and then went toward the caravan.
But not before Devouring the orbs.
The same refreshing mana swirled through him. This time, however, he felt a noticeable change.
His body felt stronger and lighter as if he could run faster and endure more than ever before.
Rex stepped into the caravan and pulled aside the curtain.
Moonlight spilled in, casting a soft glow that illuminated the previously dark interior.
He noticed all the children's were now wide awake, most of them hiding together in a corner.
Rex gave Darius an approving nod, which was promptly returned. Without a word, Darius moved to the driver's seat and began untying the horse's reins.
Neigh!
Darius reined the horse, guiding the caravan out of the forest and toward the village.
Time passed swiftly, and soon, through the veil of night fog, the faint outline of their village emerged in the distance.
Darius drove the caravan straight into the village without stopping, while Rex sat beside him, silently observing as they passed through the entrance.
"I don't know where your child is, you bit—"
