I Became My Elf King Character In A Game-Like World-Chapter 20: Opening Lottery Draw
Chapter 20 - Opening Lottery Draw
After completing the second novice mission, Renjiro finally had the chance to use the equipment lottery reward he had earned. Now that he had some time to spare, he decided it was the perfect moment to test his luck.
"System, what kind of equipment can I get from this lottery?" Renjiro asked, his curiosity piqued.
[The lottery draw is entirely dependent on the user's luck. User have the chance to obtain anything from the lowest-grade items, such as return scrolls, magical potions, and healing elixirs, to the most powerful and unique artifacts. However, the probability of drawing high-tier equipment is significantly lower.]
Renjiro's eyes widened in surprise. "Artifacts? Even those are included?" The notion was shocking to him.
The Elf race had existed on the Continent for countless millennia, yet as the Elf King, the only artifact in his possession was the [Elf King's Crown], which, unfortunately, was still sealed.
In its current state, the crown merely enhanced his magic and provided some defensive capabilities in times of danger, but it lacked the full might that a true artifact should possess.
"Wait... if I do get an artifact, would it also be sealed or like their power gets restricted or something?" he asked, suddenly suspicious.

[All items produced by the system are in perfect condition. No seals, no restrictions! Moreover, since this is the user's first time participating in the lottery, your luck has been increased tenfold. This is a one-time bonus, so use it wisely!]
At that moment, Renjiro felt a mysterious force wrap around him, filling his body with an inexplicable energy.
Almost instantly, a large spinning wheel materialized before him, visible only to his eyes.
The wheel was divided into numerous sections, each labeled with different rewards—mostly weapons and armor, but also potions, scrolls, and other special items.
His gaze flickered as he quickly scanned the wheel. As expected, he spotted the [Return Scroll] among the available prizes.
That immediately piqued his interest. "What exactly does the Return Scroll do?" he asked, somewhat skeptical. He wasn't playing a game, how could a mere scroll teleport him across the continent?
[The Return Scroll is a single-use consumable. Upon activation, it allows the User to instantly teleport back to any location that contains an Eternal Tree, regardless of where they are on the Continent.]
Renjiro inhaled sharply. "A treasure like this is considered a low-tier item?" The sheer potential of such a scroll was staggering. If he had one on him at all times, even the direst situations wouldn't be able to corner him. No matter how hopeless a battle seemed, he could instantly escape to safety. That was an absolute lifesaver!
[All system-produced items are of the highest quality.]
Renjiro couldn't help but feel an itch of excitement. "Alright, let's get this started!" He rubbed his hands together, took a deep breath, and prepared to make his move.
The moment he gave the command, the massive wheel began spinning, its speed gradually increasing until the individual prizes blurred together into a colorful haze.
At its center was a stationary pointer, and wherever it landed when the wheel stopped—that would be his reward.
[User must manually call 'Stop' for the wheel to halt.]
Understanding the rules, Renjiro clasped his hands together, silently praying for good luck. The system had already given him a tenfold luck boost, he could only hope it would be enough to land him something truly valuable.
"Come on, give me something amazing!" He focused intently on the spinning wheel, waited a few moments, then suddenly shouted, "Stop!"
The wheel immediately slowed, its momentum decreasing until it gradually came to a halt. His heart pounded as he followed the pointer's direction. When he saw where it landed, his expression froze for a second, then twisted into slight disappointment.
"It's not the Return Scroll..." he muttered under his breath. While the system had categorized the scroll as a low-tier item, to him, it was a lifeline worth its weight in gold.
If it had appeared in a shop, he wouldn't have hesitated to spend a fortune just to get one. But unfortunately, luck hadn't been on his side this time.
Instead, what he had obtained was a dagger. At first glance, it appeared to be crafted entirely from pure gold, its blade shimmering under an otherworldly glow.
Intricate symbols and runes were carved along both the hilt and the blade, radiating a mystical aura. Strangely enough, when Renjiro gazed at it for too long, he felt an unsettling sensation—as if his very soul was being pulled into its depths.
A faint chill ran down his spine. "What kind of weapon is this?" he asked no-one.
The lottery wheel vanished, and the golden dagger he had drawn materialized out of thin air, landing perfectly in Renjiro's hand.
The moment his fingers wrapped around the hilt, an overwhelming surge of power coursed through his body. It was as if his strength had multiplied a hundredfold in an instant.
For a fleeting moment, he felt an absurd sense of confidence—the confidence was like if a God stood before him right now, he was certain he could kill them, though it was just a confidence omly.
But the thought was too ridiculous. "This must be an illusion," Renjiro muttered to himself, shaking his head. There was no way a single dagger could grant him such divine-slaying power. Even so, there was no doubt that this weapon was far from ordinary.
[Congratulations! You have obtained an artifact—[Mischievous Reaper's Finger]!]
"An artifact?!" Renjiro's eyes widened in sheer excitement. The system's tenfold luck boost had truly worked in his favor, granting him something he was not expecting.
And more importantly, according to the system's previous statement... artifacts I just got through the lottery was not sealed. This meant that what he now held in his hand was at its full, unrestrained power.
A grin stretched across his face. "I can't believe it... I actually pulled an artifact!" His body trembled slightly, not from fear, but from exhilaration. The sheer improbability of the outcome made him want to burst into laughter.
