I Became My Elf King Character In A Game-Like World-Chapter 21: Exterminating Goblin Nests
Chapter 21 - Exterminating Goblin Nests
A grin stretched across his face. "I can't believe it... I actually pulled an artifact!" His body trembled slightly, not from fear, but from exhilaration. The sheer improbability of the outcome made him want to burst into laughter.
But as his gaze fell back on the dagger, his excitement wavered slightly. "Wait... this thing's name is Mischievous Reaper's Finger?" A twitch of annoyance crossed his face. It was clearly a dagger—why call it a finger? And more importantly, what did the word mischievous mean in this dagger?
Feeling an odd sense of unease, he asked, "What abilities does this artifact have?"
[[Mischievous Reaper's Finger] possesses no offensive capabilities. However, it has the ability to transform any being below the certain rank into a harmless sheep in an instant. Even Strongest being, if caught completely off guard, may still succumb to its effects.]
[The duration of the transformation depends on the target's power—the weaker the target, the longer they remain a sheep. Conversely, stronger opponents will return to their original form faster. Any creature below the Royal Rank will remain permanently transformed.]
[During the transformation, no divine magic—aside from the User's will—can dispel the effect.]
Renjiro stared at the golden dagger in his hand, taking a slow, deep breath. "So... it's a transformation dagger." The realization sent a mix of emotions swirling through him. There was no doubt that this ability was worthy of being called an artifact, especially since it could transform even legendary figures into helpless sheep. Not even a demigod would be safe from its effects.

On the Continent, the most powerful beings were half gods like demigods. If one of them ever dared to attack their Territory on a whim, he could simply flick his wrist, turn them into a woolly farm animal, and end the battle before it even started. The sheer potential of this weapon was terrifying.
But there was one problem. Aside from its sheep-transformation ability, this artifact was completely useless in direct combat. It did not enhance his strength, did not improve his agility, and—according to the system—was so weak that it might not even be able to stab a goblin to death.
Renjiro sighed, a strange expression on his face. "Mischievous Reaper's Finger... the name really fits, huh?" It was less of a weapon and more of a tool for pranks or assassination. This wasn't something he could rely on in a head-on battle, but in the right scenario, it could turn the tide of a battle in an instant.
Without any other thought, he stored the artifact inside his spatial ring. "It might not be a conventional weapon, but in the right time and situation, this could be more dangerous than any blade." A small smirk formed on his lips. "Even a strongest opponent would be powerless if they turned into a sheep in front of me."
His mind immediately shifted to the war against the Goblin Territory. With this artifact in his possession, his confidence soared. "If I can walk right up to Goblin King and turn him into a sheep in front of his entire army... imagine the chaos." The mere thought of the goblins' reaction made him chuckle.
But that was only part of the plan. There was still the [Heroic Altar]—the grand prize for completing the third novice mission.
"System, what exactly is the Heroic Altar?"
[The Heroic Altar is a sacred structure that allows elves under the user's command to undergo an evolution, advancing into the rank of Heroes.]
[Available Hero Classes include: Nature Guardian, Moon Priestess, Demon Hunter, Imperial Watcher, and more.]
[The altar activates only during the full moon. Each hero evolution requires 100,000 gold coins.]
Renjiro's jaw nearly dropped. "A hundred thousand per hero?! That's fucking absurd!"
[Elven Heroes possess exceptional abilities. For example, the Nature Guardian can awaken century-old trees, transforming them into mighty treants with eternal lifespans and overwhelming strength.]
Renjiro's irritation quickly faded. "So, it's expensive... but worth every coin." If a single Nature Guardian could summon an army of treants, then just a handful of them could completely change the battlefield.
A burning anticipation grew within him. The Heroic Altar was his gateway to creating a true army of legends—but before that, he had to finish the third novice mission and deal with the Goblin Kingdom once and for all.
To him, there was only one lesson fitting for these greedy, ungrateful creatures—total conquest.
....
Three Days Later:-
Before he knew it, three days had gone by.
During this time, Renjiro led his Giant Golems and his army on an aggressive campaign, wiping out goblin various nests hidden deep within the forest while also eliminating various corrupt races and wild magical beasts that threatened their growing territory. Under his rule, the domain of the Elves expanded at an astonishing rate.
At the same time, his forces swelled in number. What had once been a modest force had now grown into an army of nearly five thousand.
Among them, there were over three thousand archers, highly skilled warriors whose arrows could strike down enemies from incredible distances.
There were also over a thousand Huntresses, each possessing the powerful [Summoning Owl] talent.
With this ability, Huntresses could summon enchanted owls that perched on treetops and monitored the entire forest. These magical owls were not just for show, they could detect invisible entities, ensuring that no enemy, no matter how well they hid, could escape their piercing gaze.
Under this vigilant watch, the entirety of Renjiro's growing Elf territory remained secure. Even with their cowardly nature, goblins were known for their underhanded tactics, but this time, there would be no surprise attacks, no sneak raids.
If the Goblin Territory dared to send an unexpected army against him, he would see them coming long before they arrived.
Yet, despite his expectations, the goblins did not retaliate.
Three full days passed without any sign of the Goblin King's forces. No armies, no skirmishers, no desperate counterattacks. It was as if Goblin King, the so-called ruler of the goblins, had chosen to completely ignore Renjiro's actions.
By the time the fourth day arrived, the expanding Elven domain had finally reached the borders of the Goblin Territory.
And at last, the goblins had no choice but to show themselves.
