His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 216: Picking a Boyfriend—What a Lively Scene
The day after a hangover, Kiana Sutton woke up with a severe headache and felt weak and sore all over.
After getting out of bed, she discovered that Joy Morgan was already gone, but she had left a note on the table for her.
"Breakfast is in the thermos, take it out and eat—it’s just right."
Kiana Sutton opened the thermos, inside was a bowl of millet porridge and two vegetable buns, which Joy Morgan must have gone downstairs to buy early in the morning.
The divorce was indeed a huge blow and a very painful event for Kiana Sutton, but at this moment, her heart felt warm.
She planned to freshen up before eating breakfast, and while brushing her teeth, she saw the necklace around her neck in the mirror.
It was a Starlight necklace of alternating pink and white.
Kiana Sutton touched it, feeling confused. If she remembered correctly, she didn’t seem to have this necklace.
Wasn’t she wearing a smile necklace when she went out yesterday? When did it turn into a Starlight necklace?
Could Joy Morgan have given it to her?
During breakfast, Kiana Sutton sent Joy Morgan a WeChat message to ask about the necklace, but Joy Morgan perhaps was too busy and hadn’t replied.
It happened to be a weekend, and just as Kiana Sutton was thinking of going out to buy some daily necessities, the door suddenly sounded.
"Knock, knock, knock..."
The knocking was urgent; Kiana Sutton quickly went to open the door and saw Quinn Sinclair looking worried.
"Sister-in-law, you really divorced my brother?"
When they got married, Ethan Sinclair wanted to keep the marriage secret, and Kiana Sutton didn’t dare tell anyone.
When they divorced, Kiana Sutton didn’t deliberately hide it from others, just hadn’t found an opportunity to say, but Quinn knew first.
Seeing Kiana Sutton nod, Quinn Sinclair burst out crying.
Kiana Sutton hurriedly brought Quinn Sinclair into the room, wiped her tears, and patted her back quietly to comfort her.
"I don’t know what to say. On the one hand, I hope you can leave my brother and be happy. On the other hand, I don’t want you to leave him. Sister-in-law, I truly like you."
Although Quinn Sinclair had two sisters-in-law, Melody Lynch was cold and uncommunicative, treating Quinn Sinclair politely and distantly.
Initially, Quinn Sinclair wanted to have a good relationship with her sister-in-law, tried very hard but Melody’s attitude remained unchanged, gradually she stopped wanting to play with Melody Lynch.
She simply regarded Melody Lynch as her sister-in-law.
But Kiana Sutton was different; she was pretty, soft, with cute and sweet smiles, a nice personality, and treated her very well.
Whenever Quinn Sinclair thought Kiana Sutton would become someone else’s sister-in-law, she felt too upset to eat.
Kiana Sutton smiled at her, "Even though I divorced your brother, it won’t affect our relationship directly. We’ll just go from sisters-in-law to good friends."
"Can I still come to visit you often in the future?"
"Of course!"
"Will you still draw and play with me?"
"Definitely."
Quinn Sinclair was sad for a while, thinking Kiana Sutton must be feeling worse, she quickly wiped away her tears, "Sister-in-law, don’t worry, I’ll definitely find you a man better than my brother."
Quinn Sinclair was action-oriented; one phone call and she organized a party for Kiana Sutton.
Kiana Sutton hadn’t rested well for several days, initially intending to sleep well, but again, Quinn Sinclair dragged her to some party, and even booked The Pavilion.
On the way, Quinn Sinclair took Kiana Sutton to get a beautiful makeover.
When Kiana Sutton arrived, Francis Shaw, Misty Quinn, and others were already there.
Kiana Sutton wasn’t sure what Quinn Sinclair had told them, but they greeted her with enthusiasm, akin to seeing a godsend.
The Pavilion’s hall was filled with red roses, the venue decorated in a very cozy and romantic style.
"Kiana, come, sit here."
Kiana Sutton was bewildered as she was pulled to the center single-seat sofa, with sweets, snacks, and drinks on the table beside her.
For some reason, Kiana Sutton had a bad feeling, she pulled on the busy organizing Quinn Sinclair.
"Quinn, what are you trying to do?"
Quinn Sinclair patted Kiana Sutton’s hand, "Sis... Kiana, don’t worry, it’ll be good soon."
With that, Quinn Sinclair clapped her hands, grabbed the microphone and shouted to the hall: "Form a line, five people in a group, come up one by one."
In no time, five different styled men came up.
Some in suits, some in casual T-shirts, and others in very exaggerated fashion.
"Kiana, check them out, if you fancy anyone, let me know, I’ll set them aside for later selection."
"Selection for what?"
"Your future boyfriend!"
Kiana Sutton: "..."
Sure enough, the bad feeling came true!
Kiana Sutton immediately stood up from the sofa, gesturing helplessly, "I never thought about finding a boyfriend."
"That won’t do, you must think carefully about this; isn’t it said that starting a new relationship heals the wounds of a previous one? I’ve found these men, all from our circle, I make sure none will mistreat you even if you’re together."
As soon as Kiana Sutton was about to gesture, Quinn Sinclair had already pressed her into the sofa, "For now, don’t think about anything. Look at which one seems pleasant; even if not choosing a boyfriend, appreciate handsome men. Hey, introduce yourselves and mention your strengths."
Kiana Sutton: "..."
Historically, only emperors selected consorts.
Kiana Sutton never imagined she would choose a boyfriend like this one day.
Quinn Sinclair meant well, but she and Ethan Sinclair hadn’t really divorced, just in the cooling-off period. Pulling this out now, if word reached Ethan’s ears...
Thinking again though, anyway they were getting divorced, whatever Ethan thought was not her concern anymore.
Plus, seeing Francis Shaw and Misty Quinn seriously noting down each man’s strengths beside her made Kiana Sutton speechless.
Oh well, just play along with Quinn, she wouldn’t actually choose a boyfriend anyway.
"Kiana, how do you feel about these?"
Kiana Sutton shook her head.
"Not interested, that’s alright, there are more to come! Next group!"
Kiana Sutton rubbed her forehead, her temples aching slightly.
Just a day after divorcing Kiana Sutton, Ethan Sinclair felt like a year had passed, these days were extremely hard.
He didn’t know how to vent, so came to The Pavilion for boxing relief.
"Sorry President Sinclair, The Pavilion today was booked by Miss Quinn."
Ethan Sinclair frowned, "Why did she book The Pavilion?"
"Apparently she’s picking consorts for a friend who just broke up, oh no... boyfriend selection, quite lively it is."
