I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 370 Why Is Kelpie So Quiet Today?
Drake gasped. "No! No nurse! Nurse will give medicine! Drake hates medicine!"
Before Alina could respond, Boo appeared beside her, lifting his delicate ghostly hand with equal drama.
"Teacher... Boo’s fingers... they hurt too," he whispered, wiggling them tragically. "They are tired of learning..."
Alina blinked. "Boo, you barely wrote. You used two fingers the whole time."
"Yes, teacher," Boo nodded, eyes wide. "And both are tired."
Felix raised his hand next. "Teacher... my tails hurt. They were supporting my brain."
"That is not how brains work, sweetheart."
Vlad Jr. sighed heavily. "Teacher, the weight of academic responsibility strains us all."
Rocky hugged his notebook. "Teacher... my wrist has... stiffness."
"It is made of stone, Rocky."
He nodded gravely. "Yes. That is why it is stiff."
Sable whispered from his seat, "Teacher... my shadow is tired too."
Alina rubbed her forehead, smiling helplessly.
She turned back to Drake and gently massaged his little wrist with her thumb. "See? It’s okay. You squeezed the pencil too tight. That’s why it’s pink."
Drake stared at her with big round eyes. "Teacher... your hands... they fix my wrist..."
Felix placed a tiny hand over his heart. "Teacher hands are healing hands..."
Boo floated in a slow circle. "Teacher has soft magic... Boo can feel it..."
Vlad Jr. nodded nobly. "Indeed. Teacher possesses a uniquely soothing aura."
Drake leaned closer, eyes full of baby desperation. "Teacher... do not make us write more... my wrist is... very baby..."
Alina covered her mouth to hide a laugh. "Drake, I gave you a break. Ten minutes. Rest your baby wrist."
Drake collapsed backward like a dying flower. "Thank you teacher... you saved my life..."
As she walked toward the front, Boo whispered loudly to Sable, "Teacher should cancel exam because of Drake’s wrist."
Drake nodded with deep seriousness. "Yes. Wrist emergency."
Alina turned around. "NO."
Boo slowly lay down on his desk. "We tried."
Alina noticed something strange the moment she walked past Kelpie’s desk.
He was quiet.
Too quiet.
Suspiciously quiet.
Normally Kelpie splashed tiny droplets everywhere when he was excited. He gurgled. He hummed. He wiggled. But today he sat stiffly with his little fins pressed against his cheeks, eyes wide like a startled fish.
Alina crouched beside him gently. "Kelpie, sweetheart, what happened? Why are you so quiet today?"
Kelpie’s eyes darted around the room as if checking for spies. Then he leaned forward urgently and waved her closer.
Alina blinked and leaned in. Kelpie whispered, his voice small and terrified, "Teacher... don’t tell anyone... but... I lost my tooth."
He opened his mouth wide and pointed. Alina gasped softly when she saw the tiny gap between his little sharp baby teeth.
"Oh, Kelpie... how did this happen?" she asked gently.
Kelpie looked deeply offended by life itself. "I don’t know, teacher. I woke up and my tooth was hurting... so I touched it... and it just came out! It fell! It betrayed me!" His voice cracked. "Teacher, promise you won’t tell! It’s secret!"
Alina gave him a soft, reassuring smile. "Of course, sweetheart. I won’t—"
"Okay!" Boo’s cheerful voice exploded from behind.
Kelpie froze.
Alina froze.
They slowly turned.
Boo was floating upside down above them, nodding seriously. "Okay Boo will not tell anyone that Kelpie lost his tooth."
Kelpie’s jaw dropped. "Boo!!! You weren’t supposed to hear!!"
Boo gasped. "I was not supposed to hear? Oh no. I heard."
Felix’s ears perked up. "Who lost teeth?"
Luna sniffed the air. "Someone smells like missing tooth..."
Drake jumped out of his chair. "WHO IS TOOTHLESS? I WANNA SEE!"
Rocky raised his little stone hand. "Teacher... what happened? Did someone lose something?"
Vlad Jr. sighed elegantly. "It appears Kelpie has experienced natural dental transition."
Kelpie’s entire body vibrated with fury.
"NOOOO!" he yelled, jumping from his seat. "Teacher said it was secret! SECRET!"
Alina held both hands up. "Kelpie, sweetheart, please calm down. I didn’t tell them—"
Kelpie pointed dramatically. "THE CLASS HEARD!"
The class looked genuinely confused.
Luna tilted her head. "We have super hearing. We hear everything."
Boo nodded sagely. "Yes. Even when Drake snores. Very loud."
Drake gasped. "I DO NOT SNORE!"
"Teacher!" Kelpie cried, clutching her sleeve. "I don’t want everyone to know! Now everyone knows I am... toothless!"
Sable peeked from behind his notebook. "Kelpie... it’s normal. Losing teeth is... baby thing."
Kelpie’s fins puffed up in rage. "I AM NOT BABY!"
Boo whispered softly, "Kelpie, you literally are baby."
Kelpie shouted, "NO!"
Boo answered, "Yes."
Kelpie yelled louder, "NOOO!"
Alina rubbed his back gently, trying not to laugh. "Kelpie, sweetheart, losing teeth is completely normal. It means you’re growing."
Kelpie sniffled. "Really?"
"Yes. You’ll get a new tooth soon. A stronger one."
Kelpie blinked. "Stronger? Like shark tooth?"
"Maybe not shark..." Alina laughed softly.
Kelpie puffed proudly. "Okay... but still don’t tell anyone."
Drake raised his hand. "But we already know."
Kelpie screamed into his hands.
The class erupted in giggles, and Alina sighed, shaking her head. She clapped her hands gently but firmly, her teacher smile returning as she straightened her posture.
"Alright, everyone, enough giggling," she said in a warm but steady voice. The room quieted slowly, little heads turning toward her. "Listen carefully now."
Kelpie sniffled beside her, cheeks puffed angrily. Boo hovered upside down, Drake sat with both hands covering his mouth, Felix’s tails curled neatly around his chair, and Vlad Jr. placed his hands gracefully on his desk as if preparing for a royal lesson.
Alina gave Kelpie a soft pat before she began.
"Every baby loses their teeth when they are growing."
The class blinked.
She continued, "Your baby teeth are small," she said, holding her hands apart just a little. "They are made for when you are tiny. But as you grow bigger, your mouth needs bigger and stronger teeth."
She tapped lightly under her chin, demonstrating the idea of growth.
"So the baby teeth fall out," she said, making a falling motion with her fingers. "And new teeth grow in their place. Teeth that match your growing body."
Kelpie sniffed and nodded.
Drake raised his hand. "Teacher... will new teeth hurt?"
"Maybe a little," she said honestly. "Your gums might feel tingly or funny. But that means your new teeth are on the way."
