I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 64: Alya’s request
Chapter 64: Alya’s request
"Ravi, I would like to think that we are friends. I know something is bothering you, seeing you out of it is really worrying. Did something happen? Are you in some kind of trouble? Or is it the case? If that is the case, I can take you off it. Getting close to you is already so hard, so when you put these walls, I get scared. Whatever it is, I will do my best to help, and if I can’t help, at least I can listen?" He lowered his hand from his chin and placed it over his right hand, "You can talk to me, Ravi."

"I greet her Majesty, The Black Impermanence." He folded both hands over each other and raised it to his forehead, bowing as he did so.
"Sentinel West. You may rise."
There was an awkward silence between the two of them for a minute. He did not know what to say to her and she in turn just watched him silently.
"You have been well." She said after a minute, she turned to look at Arlen who was sleeping, "And he, who is he? Your lover?"
Ravi moved to block Arlen from her view. She would not harm him, he knew but there would be some effect when someone like Alya stared at ordinary human people. Who can meet Death and still escape unscathed?
"He is just an ordinary human. He is of no consequence." He said curtly. Remembering Luxor made his breath hitch and he forced himself to be in control. Everything can happen later.
Of no consequence? Alya looked down at Ravi, his red-rimmed eyes, his trembling fingers, "You have changed and yet you have not."
Ravi looked up at her. Even after Lucor, he had gone to the Netherworld and had stared at the Solitude Mountain for a long time, Alya had never visited him once. Why would she come down here just to speak cryptic words? He has changed and yet he has not. So difficult to understand.
Ravi was too tired for this.
"Alya, why are you here? Why did you come down here?" Even though he called her by her name, there was still a hint of respect in it.
"I am not truly here. This is an incarnation. I can’t come down here. Nobody can?"
An incarnation felt this powerful, Ravi was genuinely shocked. Just how much more powerful had Alya grown, and why would no immortal be able to come down to this Earth?
Was something going on here? He did not want to be involved with anything concerning immortals or demons again.
"You are not going to ask?"
"I genuinely do not want to know. I do not care either."
A frown laced Alya’s face before it disappeared a few seconds later and she sighed, "I will not be able to tell you anyway. You don’t have to worry about it disturbing your rest in this land."
"I have a request. There is an incarnation down here, Lord Malik..."
"Lord!" Ravi caught the word and a shock rang down his spine. Lord. Alya had risen to be the Black Impermanence in the Netherworld, commanding billions of billions of souls. Even Heavenly Immortals have to bow and address her as Her Majesty, someone, someone of her authority would call Lord.
His flight attribute was never triggered as fast as it was at this moment.
"The Heavenly Emperor?" ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"Of course not! What would that old man be doing down here?"
"If not him, then the Netherworld Emperor?"
Alya paused for a second and then shook her head, "It is not him either. Don’t try to guess. The incarnation, Malik, protects him for me."
"Protect him?" He raised an eyebrow. Just what incarnation would warrant Alya’s protection? A successor, but she is too young to have one already. He rubbed his brows, "Is that an order because I am too tired to be someone’s bodyguard? I just want to rest."
"Not an order. Ravi. It is a request and in return, I would give you something you really want."
What he wanted, he almost laughed, "I don’t want anything."
"What I would give you, you must certainly want it. I swear by the River Styx."
Ravi was silent. He watched that cold expression that did not seem to ripple no matter what happened. What he wanted? He could feel Arlen’s breathing behind him, from the corner of his eyes he could see the tree that they parked under wilting already.
"Right now, I want a vital tea leaf."
She raised an eyebrow but still raised her hand, a sapling appeared in the air and floated down.
The sapling was the size of a palm, young and slender with four leaves on it. Each leaf was a bright verdant green, with faint purple energy so dense that it materialized drifting out from it.
Ravi caught the leaf.
"Do we have an agreement?" The voice was cold but there was an assured quality to it like she was sure he would agree.
"An agreement to protect the First of the Ten Kings, King of Qin. He should be undergoing his tribulation right now." He paused, he had to say he enjoyed the look of utter shock that flashed in Alya’s eyes. He was not sure why, maybe because whenever they met, he seemed to be on the losing side.
It was not hard to guess. Among the Netherworld Officials with power, he screened the blind ones. The Netherworld Emperor had personally dug out the eyes of the First of the Ten Kings, or King Yama as a lot of people knew him.
His identity even made Ravi not want to get along even more, "If he is in trouble in front of me, I would protect him but I would not follow him around. In exchange..."
What he wanted, he lowered his head. He knew what he wanted so much, his soul. He wanted his soul to be destroyed. As a Sentinel, his soul belonged to the Sentinel Department, so after he dies and reincarnates and dies again, his soul would go back to the Sentinel Department.
Without his memory, to worked tirelessly as a villain killing, hero saving fool. One of the few people with the power to destroy souls was in front of him right now.

Ravi looked into concerned blue eyes, "I..I saw a piece of my past that I would rather forget and I agreed to something that I did not want to agree to."
