House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men-Chapter 397: Tense Dragons V
Chapter 397: Tense Dragons V
(Third Person POV)
"Why are you so angry, my love?" Saera asked Riktor, who was swinging a wooden sword against a dummy, "Don’t be so serious, loosen up a bit~!"
They were in the training yard, and Riktor had decided to go there and spend some time training. The moment that he was spotted by Knights and soldiers approaching, they immediately backed away and watched from a distance. And the moment that Saera came into view, followed by Sylas, they left the scene.
They were well aware of the incident that had happened in the past; when Riktor and Sylas had gotten into a fight and killed men.
"I am not angry." Riktor said seriously
Saera frowned, "Your brooding face says otherwise." She said, "Tell me, what is on your mind? You know you can speak to me."
"I don’t want to speak." Riktor said, "I wish to be left alone, that is all."
Sylas and Saera looked at each other, a bit perplexed by Riktor’s words.
"A-Am I the issue?" Saera asked, "Did I do something wrong?"
"No." Riktor said, "Just....leave me be."
"Riktor....." Saera reached for his shoulder, "Don’t be so cold to me-"
Riktor pulled away, "I said I am fine!" He snapped, "Leave me be!"
"Brother." Sylas said as Riktor walked away, tossing the sword aside, "What is wrong?"
Riktor ignored him and kept walking, making his way past the open gate to the training yard.
Saera had a frown on her face, "I...." She said, "I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?"
Sylas grabbed her hand, "Don’t worry, Mama." He said, "It is not your fault."
Saera forced a smile, "Well...."
"It is fine." a voice said
Saera looked back to see Mya walking up to her, "Mya." She said softly, "I am sorry, I-"
"It is not your fault." Mya said, "It appears my son is in a bad mood, don’t worry. I’ll speak to him."
"Sometimes, I feel like I am too smothering with him." Saera said as she looked down, "You are his mother, I know that. But....."
"I understand." Mya said, "I don’t think Riktor has an issue with that at all. There is plenty of things on his mind, that is all."
"Right...." Saera said
"He should feel fortunate that he has someone like you care for him this deeply." Mya said with a slight smile, "I am grateful to you, Princess."
Saera looked around, "Where is Astorias?" She asked, "Was she not with you?"
"Oh, she kidnapped your father." Mya said, "Right now, they should be flying in the skies atop his dragon."
"Oh?" Saera said with a smile, "Should we join them, Sylas? Do you wish to fly?"
"I have nothing else to do." Sylas shrugged, "I could go for a ride."
"Ohhh~!" Saera crouched down and hugged her tightly, "You’re such a good boy, Sylas~! Mama adores you!"
Sylas was pressed tightly against her chest, "I would like to breathe, please."
Mya chuckled, "Where is Our Lord?" She asked, "I haven’t seen him."
Saera looked at her, "Is he not with Maegelle?"
"I believe Maegelle is with your Mother." Mya said, "Hm....."
Saera straightened up, "If she’s not with you nor Maegelle...." She said, "Then...."
"He could be doing something devious."

Viserra was combing her hair as she sat in front of her mirror, "Why would everyone think something so foolish?" She asked, "I have no such intentions....."
She was speaking to Drakken, who was laying down on her couch, taking a bite off a lemon cake.
"Beats me." He said, "But they’re dead set on believing that you, my Dragon Maiden, will marry me."
Viserra stopped and turned on her seat, facing him, "Who would think that?" She asked, "And why would they?"
"Alaric Stark challenged me to a duel." Drakken said, "And it was for your hand in marriage. You see, I clearly won the fight and apparently, House Stark expects me to marry you."
"And if you don’t?" Viserra asked
"I don’t know." He said, "Are you worried about them? Fuck them. Who are those dogs to say what I can and cannot do?"
Viserra looked down, "I am a servant of the Trinity, that is all." She said softly, "I have no intentions or ambitions to do anything other than to worship the God of War and Death."
"Is that so?" Drakken sat up, "But you haven’t communed with the God of War and Death. Tell me, Viserra, what has Sol’Tyr been whispering in your ear as of late? Has Thanatos reached out to you?"
"He has spoken to me." Viserra said, "But....."
"Go on." Drakken said with a raised eyebrow, "What has he said?"
She sighed, "The same thing." she said, "Apparently, as a Dragon maiden, I should be given as an offering to the God of War and Death."
"Of course, he’d say that." Drakken rolled his eyes
"Do you think this was Ezra’s plan?" Viserra asked, "He acts solely based on what his Dreams tell him. He claims that the Great War is closer by the day.....but...when he took me in and proclaimed me as the Dragon Maiden, he mentioned it was for a singular purpose...."
"The Ritual." Drakken said, "I’ve spoken to him about it. But I don’t know anything else other than that regarding his dreams."
Viserra turned back around and kept combing her hair, "I don’t care to marry anyone." She said, "So long as I can serve the Trinity and be safe, I don’t care."
"Nothing will happen." Drakken leaned back on the couch, "Don’t worry about that."
"You mentioned I will mentor Vaella with some things." Viserra said, "What did that mean?" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"Oh, that." Drakken said with a slight smirk, "I want you to spend some time in Harrenhal."
Viserra stopped combing her hair. "What?" She asked as she looked at him through the mirror, "Why?"
"Maegelle will teach you the healing arts." Drakken said, "With the Blue and Red Dust being shipped to my Seat at a rapid rate, there are opportunities to learn more techniques. I want you to learn them as the Dragon Maiden, and you will teach them to other Dragon Maidens in the future."
"There will....." Viserra said, "There will be more?"
"Perhaps." Drakken said, "You see, the original Trinity had Dragon Priestesses that directly worshipped me. Then the Black Priestess, who worshipped Viktor and the Silver Priestesses who worshipped Riktor. They weren’t gods in the fact that they reached divinity, but by the time we founded the Trinity, they were powerful Vampire Lords. Soon, I want Dragon Priestesses to fill the entirety of Westeros and those with Dragon’s Blood will be Dragon Maidens."
"And Vaella?" Viserra asked, "Will you put her in that position? What if she doesn’t want to?"
"It is obviously her choice." Drakken said, "But...should she not want to serve her God in that way, that is fine. I don’t mind. I do want you to mentor her, it won’t hurt."
"Right...." Viserra said, "Vaella...what of Astorias? Should she be a Dragon Maiden?"
"Astorias? A Dragon Maiden?" Drakken chuckled, "Oh no, Viserra. To be what you are, you have to be calm, patient, and composed. Astorias is anything but."
"That girl will be whatever she wants."
