Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 617: Christmas and Gifts
Daisy Ginger and Erin Ginger were lying in bed for a while, until Lady Stephens returned from the hospital.
Maybe it was because of the coco incident; Lady Stephens seemed a bit cautious in explaining to Daisy.
Actually, Daisy understood that it wasn’t her fault; Edward Stephens lost his memory because he saved her. Both her sons died or were injured because of her, and truly, if there were debts, it was her who owed them.
After having dinner with Lady Stephens, Daisy was about to see her out when she noticed Robert Stephens arriving at the door.
The man saw her and said, "coco is the most famous rehabilitation expert in the United States."
Daisy stood at the door, coldly gazing at him.
"If you want to replace her, have the ability to design a better rehabilitation plan yourself, otherwise, don’t try anything on her."
She didn’t expect even Robert to know about it.
Daisy sneered, "How many women do you plan to send to your brother’s bed?"
"Instead of worrying about him looking for love elsewhere, why not reflect on why you lack charm that even a therapist surpasses you?"
Robert’s words were incredibly sarcastic. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Lady Stephens intervened, "Robert, the issue with coco is not related to Daisy; it was my unilateral decision."
Robert clearly didn’t believe, glancing at her while sitting in his wheelchair, and then said to Daisy, "I won’t replace her. If you cause Edward any lifelong aftereffects, be careful of your own legs."
After threatening her, he left.
Daisy couldn’t help but chuckle in anger.
Has he forgotten who caused Edward Stephens to be in a wheelchair now?
Lady Stephens looked embarrassed, her good intentions backfired, not only failing to replace coco but also introducing trouble for Daisy.
"Daisy, dear aunt really..."
"It’s not your fault," Daisy replied, "I originally intended to replace her tomorrow." It was just that Lady Stephens acted a day early.
Today’s events made her realize that relying solely on her abilities, she couldn’t replace that woman by Edward’s side.
Once in Chicago, everything seemed beyond her control.
Daisy’s gaze dimmed, a slight dissatisfaction, but mostly it was a sense of helplessness.
"Aunt, I’m going upstairs."
Lady Stephens stood at the door, replied softly, "Alright."
She watched Daisy’s figure slowly retreat, unable to suppress a gentle sigh.
She wished to help her, to make her life a little easier, but here she couldn’t do much.
Rather than watching Edward fall for coco, it would be less cruel for Daisy not to come here at all.
*
In the blink of an eye, Daisy had been staying in Chicago for a month.
On Christmas Day, it snowed in Chicago. Daisy took a day off for Erin and spent the afternoon playing in the city center.
The Christmas spirit was strong, music could be heard everywhere, and by evening, the streets lit up with colorful neon.
She took Erin to a Western restaurant to eat steak. When they came out, the snow on the street was already thick.
Erin bought a Christmas gift; when they were about to head back, he said he wanted to give it to "Daddy."
Daisy didn’t visit Edward at the hospital every day; first, Edward’s rehabilitation was exhausting, most of the time spent in the rehab room, and during rest, he slept, leaving little time for conversation; secondly, she was reluctant to see coco.
Daisy thought for a moment; it had been three days since her last visit to Edward.
That day they didn’t talk much, she just napped in his room for the afternoon, actually feeling quite bored.
She called Ryan Smith.
Ryan had just returned from a date and eagerly volunteered to pick them up from downtown.
In less than ten minutes, a wine-red flashy convertible stopped in front of Daisy and Erin.
Daisy opened the car door and went in, the overpowering scent of perfume choked her into a cough.
The woman who had just sat here probably poured not less than three bottles of perfume on herself, the smell was strong enough to suffocate a cow.
"Erin is so cute."
Ryan saw Erin dressed as Santa Claus through the rearview mirror.
Daisy had dressed him in a red and white fluffy coat, with a red hat, revealing a delicate, fair face with deep jet-black eyes. Gender unclear, Erin looked as pretty as a little girl.
Erin sat on Daisy’s lap, politely greeted Ryan, "Hello, uncle."
Ryan smiled, "Oh, I forgot to get you a gift. Uncle will give you money so you can buy whatever you want later, okay?"
Saying this, he tossed over a supplementary card.
Daisy accepted it without hesitation and told Erin to "keep it safe."
Ryan couldn’t help but click his tongue seeing her unreserved manner, then began teasing Erin.
"Erin, what are you holding as a Christmas gift for uncle?"
Erin held a large red-wrapped gift box in his arms, which Ryan had been eyeing for a while.
"Poor uncle didn’t even receive any Christmas gifts today."
Erin remained unmoved.
Ryan acted pitiful for a while before withdrawing his gaze, clicking his tongue, "Just like your father."
Daisy held Erin, tilting her head to look outside.
She was very quiet, very much out of place with the bustling night scene.
Her profile was hazy, with subtle neon reflecting on her fair face, beautiful yet melancholic.
A true beauty.
Ryan silently evaluated, not knowing why, he felt a slight pang of emotion, also quieting down to maintain the car’s tranquility.
From the city center to Edward’s hospital, it took over an hour.
With snow still falling, Ryan propped up an umbrella and escorted Daisy into the hospital.
On Christmas Day, the hospital was bustling, as family members of patients were visiting, making it more lively than usual.
At this moment, Edward had already finished dinner alone, lying on the bed idly flipping channels with the remote, the room was cold and quiet, the sound of snow falling could be heard.
He planned to turn off the TV and go straight to sleep when the door was pushed open and Ryan’s voice sounded, "Edward, I brought your son!"
He looked up at Daisy, who was standing with Erin at the door.
Seeing her, his heart seemed to stir with warmth.
On the snowy day, Daisy was wrapped warmly, her down jacket hugged her slender waist, her hair draped, with some snowflakes still unmelted among the strands.
Erin was also bundled up, looking like a little red penguin. Standing beside Daisy, a couple of snowflakes clung to his eyelashes as he gazed innocently into the room.

Edward used all his strength to prevent himself from getting out of bed to hold him.
