Chapter 101: Vanessa’s evil plan

Gina had almost turned off her father’s cell phone if Massimo had not immediately warned her, it seems Massimo could already read Gina’s mind.

"I don’t want to talk with a liar like you," Gina said curtly while still giving her a second warning.

Massimo chuckled. "Liar, who’s a liar, really?"

"I’m a liar!!"

Tutt...

Gina immediately turned off Massimo’s call, talking too long with that man made her heart health not good. But just as she was about to walk away from her place, suddenly his father’s cell phone rang again. Massimo called her again. Reluctantly, Gina accepted Massimo’s call again.

"What?"

"I’m not a patient person, Gina. I could bankrupt your family business in a minute..."

"I know, that’s the real you. Ok now I will listen carefully, what do you want from me to- until you have to lie like this? Is lying one of your skills?"

Massimo chuckled as if he had been waiting for a question like this to leave Gina’s lips. "It’s your own fault, why can’t I contact you."

Gina clenched her left hand, it turned out that Massimo had deliberately contacted his father because he couldn’t reach her.

"Oh that, my cell phone is broken. So no one can contact me," said Gina casually speaking.

"Your cell phone is broken?" Massimo’s tone rose an octave.

"Yeah, if you don’t believe me, just use another cell phone to call mine."

Massimo was silent for a while. Gina, who had removed the sim card from her cell phone, looked calm, because even if Massimo tried to contact her a hundred times, it wouldn’t connect.

"Ok I believe," said Massimo later.

"Of course you have to believe, because I’m not a liar like you," Gina immediately answered Massimo’s words in a curt tone that was still very unfriendly.

"Meet me tonight," said Massimo casually.

"No, I’m not going anywhere. You know that Grandma just died."

"I don’t like being denied, Gina. You know how to get out of your house without anyone knowing, though, right?"

Gina clenched her jaw. This man was really annoying and Gina hated him even more now.

"I’m tired, I don’t want to go. I have a lot of work today," Gina said quietly suddenly in a hoarse tone.

"Ok I will come to your room then." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"Don’t be crazy!!!" Gina screamed loudly.

"So how? The decision is yours now, you come to me or I come to you."

Gina closed her eyes quickly, Massimo was really annoying. "What time?"

"What?" asked Massimo playfully.

"It’s okay then, I’ll just sleep like the original plan."

Massimo growled. "Don’t try it, Gina. I’ll be waiting at the exit at seven o’clock and don’t..."

"Wait." Suddenly Gina cut Massimo’s words back.

"What’s wrong?"

"Hmm.. I’m afraid of insects and rats, so can’t you pick me up at the entrance?"

Massimo burst out laughing. "You’re afraid of insects and rats? Then how can a person who is afraid of animals like that become a veterinarian? Have you forgotten, rats are the most frequently used animal in medical students’ experiments?"

"Different, it has nothing to do."

Massimo laughed again when he heard Gina’s words, just talking on the phone he was already happy. Really, knowing Gina was a blessing in itself for him that he didn’t realize.

"Ok, I’ll be waiting for you at the entrance at exactly seven o’clock. If you’re even a minute late I’ll make a mess of your house," Massimo said quietly after he stopped laughing.

"Yes I... oh yes Sir, you are welcome, next time please take your grandson if you want to go on a trip so that bad things like that don’t happen again. It’s not good for a man who is not young like you to ride the bus alone."

Massimo raised an eyebrow at Gina’s sudden unclear words, but it didn’t last long because with his intelligent brain, Massimo finally knew that Gina’s change in attitude was due to the arrival of Julian near her.

"Okay then I’ll close it, sir. Thank you and good afternoon."

Gina ended up actually hanging up the phone call from Massimo in a completely out of line manner and maybe if it was someone else Massimo would have been angry, but since it was Gina there wasn’t the slightest bit of anger showing on his face right now.

Fix, Massimo has been hit by magic this time.

"Are you done?" asked Julian softly as he received his phone back from Gina.

"Hmm."

"What happened?" Julian asked again.

"It’s not a big deal, I was just giving a little help. I didn’t think the guy would actually call me, even though I gave the wrong cell phone number," Gina answered freely, she had to lie and it was Massimo’s fault. That arrogant man!

Julian chuckled, suddenly Julian grabbed Gina’s hands and gripped her gently. "It’s okay honey, Daddy’s just glad you used Daddy’s number like before."

"Eh?"

"Daddy feels appreciated by you and honestly it makes Daddy happy," said Julian again, it was clear from his eyes that he was really serious about what he said.

Gina pursed her lips, trying to smile even though it was really hard. She still doesn’t understand her father’s attitude, Julian leaves Gina again when he hears Vanessa’s call from the second floor. Looks like Vanessa needs his help right now.

Gina was still frozen for a long time. After her father left, being treated so gently by her father made Gina’s heart warm a little. Gina really needs a father’s love. Because she didn’t want anyone to see her cry, Gina rushed back to her room, she still had two hours to rest before meeting Massimo who had forced her.

When Gina arrived in front of her room she was surprised when she saw her grandfather being carried out of his room using a wheelchair, it was impossible to stay silent, Gina immediately approached his grandfather.

"Aunty..."

Vanessa, who was tidying the blanket on Yohanes Sanders’ thighs, immediately turned around when Gina called.

"Yes, dear."

"Where are you taking Grandpa?"

"We will move Grandpa to a room on the first floor, because Grandpa’s condition requires extra care. Mommy and Daddy decided to move Grandpa to a room that is easily accessible by anyone on the first floor. there are many people who can help him as quickly as possible without having to wait for Mommy and Daddy," Vanessa answered softly, trying to explain the reason why Yohanes Sanders was moved.

Gina was silent hearing her stepmother’s reasoning, she felt there was something odd about her stepmother’s reasoning but she didn’t know where the awkwardness lay. Because after all she was a child who couldn’t interfere with adults’ affairs, Gina couldn’t help but stare at her grandfather being wheeled into the elevator to be carried down to the first floor. The floor where there are indeed a lot of people doing activities and doing many activities which of course have pluses and minuses for the recovery of the grandfather.

"Am I a slave who has to take care of you every hour? Tsk, don’t dream, the sooner you die, the better for all of us," Vanessa said to herself as she entered the elevator with her husband who was carrying his father’s wheelchair.
