He who Bends Time-Chapter 47 - to death with all
Chapter 47: Chapter 47 - to death with all
From the edge of the spiral hole, looking down at the glowing spiral below, Marian pondered.
"Is there any place we could rest? Not just me, but it seems Auran is really exhausted," said Henry as he came closer.
Behind him stood Octo, who helped Auran stand up again.
"That’s true. I really need to find a place to settle down," said Auran, who managed to regain his balance after a moment of weakness.
"As the Bloody Queen of this place, I definitely have more than enough places to welcome you as my guests. You see that?" she said as she pointed to the deepest part of the hole.
"That’s the sixth and final level of this hole—and it’s where the Bloody Arena is. That thing you see like an empty stage is the actual arena, but it’s only used when two of the most powerful figures fight. Usually, the other fights happen on the upper floors like those," she said as she shifted her hand to point at the circular floors that gradually expanded upward.
"There are a total of five floors, excluding the lowest one. To reach the sixth floor and fight in the main Bloody Arena, one must first defeat the gate fighter on each circle," she explained.
"For a fighting arena, this place looks more like a luxurious tavern," said Nimuk from the side, observing the beauty and wealth of each circular floor as far as he could see.
"It’s not surprising. Although you might not know, the Bloody Arena is a pretty famous place. People from all over the worlds come here to hire warriors as mercenaries. The number of those incoming people is unimaginable, which also makes the amount of money earned by those offering services on each circle filthy rich.
As a result, the surroundings changed, and each circle became more luxurious—each with its own uniqueness thanks to the wealth they generate," Marian explained further.
"So... where is your house?" asked Auran, somewhat uninterested in the other subjects she was explaining.
"Guess. Where do you think the Bloody Queen’s house would be?" Marian said cheekily, clearly showing off her wealth.
"Ugh... definitely the deepest and most remote place," said Auran in frustration, knowing that to reach the lowest level, he would have to pass through all the other floors—something that could take an unknown amount of time.
"That would take too much time. Instead, I have a better option," Marian said suddenly. Then she took a step back, grabbed Auran’s hand, and without warning, rushed forward and jumped straight into the spiral hole.
"What the..." Caught completely off guard, Auran was stunned, but he quickly grabbed Octo with his other hand—either Octo could pull him out, or he too would be dragged into the hole.
Unfortunately, Octo was unprepared for the first option and could only manage to grab hold of Nimuk, who was also caught off guard and instinctively grabbed Henry on his way down.
The four of them fell along with Marian, who had dragged them all.
"What the hell, you crazy woman?! Are you trying to get us all killed after we went through all that trouble escaping from prison?!" screamed Octo.
"Please tell us you’re doing this for a reason!" asked Henry with a hint of desperate hope. However, Marian simply smiled in response.
"Auran, please do something to save us!" Henry pleaded again after getting no satisfying answer from Marian.
"On it!" Auran quickly moved his hand, and a space circle appeared as a soft, blade of time rushed forward into the depth.
"..."
Looking at the transparent, wavy blade that disappeared into the depths, Henry had a puzzled expression on his face. But that changed when he saw the goofy smile forming on Auran’s lips.
"He’s doing it again... Auran, come back to your senses!" Henry exclaimed.
Octo, who was nearby, struggled to get closer to Auran and slapped him hard across the face, which seemed to knock the daze out of him.
"You slapped me..."
"I’ll accept whatever punishment later, but right now, you need to find a way to keep us alive!" Octo said urgently.
Auran looked down into the depths of the hole. Although they’d been falling for a while, they had yet to pass even the third circle of the spiral.
"I think I have something in mind," Auran said, just after he suddenly grabbed Octo and positioned him in front, so if they landed, Octo would be the first to receive the impact.
"Auran, that’s betrayal!!" exclaimed Henry.
"Why? He’s the one said to survive," said Auran without a care.
"Everyone calm down, you’re not going to die," came Marian’s voice at that moment. And with that, a sudden wind arrived from below—powerful enough to move the five of them like dry leaves in a storm.
While being moved by the wind, Auran happened to be close to Marian.
"By the way, why didn’t you grab Henry before jumping in, considering he was the closest one standing next to you at the moment?" he asked, unexpectedly calm, unlike the silly smile he showed on his face.
"You think I’m a kid? In the time I’ve been with you all, I’ve come to understand Henry’s type. Didn’t I say I have a special ability to figure people out? From that, I can say that Henry would never grab onto someone else if he knew he was falling to his death," answered Marian.
However, Auran laughed upon hearing her.
"He might be kind, but he’s not that kind."
The wind dragged them toward the giant crystal that hung from above—or more specifically, descended from the surface above. It was truly a massive crystal of unknown origin, which both Auran and Henry failed to identify. Once they got close to the crystal, the wind carried them around it for a long while, until it suddenly changed direction and pushed them toward a hole that had appeared in the crystal.
No one screamed in fear, but some braced themselves to avoid injury in case they were thrown into something. Some enjoyed the wind like a ride, while one observed everything carefully.
Once dragged inside through the hole, the wind blew them upward through a tunnel-like space between cracks in the crystal. After about ten minutes of nonstop air suction, all five of them were ejected into an open space—before falling hard onto a flat crystal floor.
Even those who prepared for impact couldn’t avoid the pain of crashing against a crystal surface. Even the physically enhanced bodies of Octo and Nimuk were left crawling on the floor in pain.
Compared to them, Henry and Auran were in worse shape—they appeared to have suffered broken bones.
Only Marian seemed to have expected the sudden fall and prepared for it. As a result, she managed to land on her two feet and stood without injury, unlike the others.
"Marian, you crazy beast woman! If you knew all this, why didn’t you warn us?! I think my leg is broken!" shouted Auran, holding his leg, which indeed had a fractured bone.
But at that moment, something unexpected happened. As Auran examined his body, a green light suddenly glowed around him, relieving his pain—and it began to do even more than that.
"It’s healing by itself? What is this?" he asked in surprise. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
