He who Bends Time-Chapter 46 - one of a kind
Chapter 46: Chapter 46 - one of a kind
But in this case, the person we tracked wasn’t exactly one of the two missing students—it was someone who recently graduated and bears the Malckoy family symbol. That symbol was already marked as a target by the elders of our family, which is how we were able to track it," explained the young man.
"So do it again," said Sena.
"Well..." The young man hesitated.
"What is it? Is something wrong?" Sena asked, now showing a concerned expression.
"Sigh... alright, since it’s my fault, I’ll admit it. In truth, to track the symbol of our family, we use a tool provided by the family—and I kind of forgot to bring it with me."
"....." There was a brief silence after his confession as Sena stopped in her tracks.
"How can a student council member forget to bring the only thing we could use to track them for this mission?" she asked after the pause.
"I’m sorry! I thought this would be over quickly, and I had a lot of other work to do, so I just forgot to fetch it... but please, keep this a secret from the council president. If he finds out, he’ll definitely kick me out," the young man begged, looking at Sena with puppy-like eyes.
"I don’t know, that will depend on how much time it takes us to find them."
"Then let’s hurry," the young boy quickly moved his feet and walked faster.
"Phew, I’m relieved that you agreed to keep my mistake a secret. If not, I would’ve had no choice but to bargain with the fact that you kicked all the others out just so you could come find your ex-boyfriend by yourself," he added on the way.
"What...?" a unexpected loud voice came from Sena.
The boy suddenly felt something behind him and hurriedly jumped forward—just in time to avoid a heavy sword slamming down onto the exact spot where he had just stood.
"Who said I’m doing this to find him? I’m doing this because the council president asked me to help!" Sena exclaimed.
After rolling on the ground, the young boy lifted his head from the pile of dirt he landed in.
’I probably shouldn’t have said that out loud. Forgot that she’s literally a ticking time bomb when it comes to her ex-boyfriend,’ the boy muttered to himself as he stood up.
"I apologize for what I said—I know my mistake. Now, should we hurry? We’re wasting time if you’re going to continue attacking me," he said showing a calm expression despite the frightening though he has.
Sena put down the sword in her hand, and it quickly disappeared.
"Just watch what you say next," she said as she walked past the young man.

"This place is..."
"BEAUTIFUL." While the others exaggerated, Auran simply said what he felt upon seeing the scenery in front of him.
After stepping through the space overlap, they entered a new area—and it was the best place they had seen so far.
In front of them was a deep hole illuminated by a massive crystal that gradually descended to its deepest point. It appeared they were underground because the light sent to the center of the hole came from a giant crystal hanging bove them from the ground above. The descending hole formed an immensely massive spiral structure, and along each circular curve were gaps leading deeper into the hole. In these gaps were spacious areas holding countless luxurious buildings, and people could be seen everywhere in those spaces.
Although the giant crystal emitted enough light to brighten the entire area, the circular gaps were also equipped with numerous lighting devices, providing ample brightness throughout the underground space.
"This is the Awakener’s City—where the Bloody Arena is held," said Marian, looking down at the deeper part of the spiral hole, where a specific field could be seen. However, the complete view was blocked by the massive crystal that extended to the bottom of the hole.
BlurOOPEH!
Suddenly, a sound that was far from pleasant echoed—and it came from right beside Marian and Henry. The two looked dumbfounded at the source of the sound: Auran.
"Sorry, that came out of nowhere," said Auran, laughing to himself. The others noticed that Auran was acting strange.
"This is so deep... are you sure it’s safe for us to get this close to it?" asked Auran as he leaned down closely over the edge, looking back at the others.
However, before anyone could answer, Auran suddenly wobbled uncontrollably and fell backward off the edge into the spiral hole.
Henry was the first to react, as he was closest in line. He hurriedly ran to grab Auran but realized it was too late. The others were also alarmed and quickly rushed forward to catch Auran, but they were slower than Henry.
However, just at that moment, something like a rope came from behind them, stretching out until it grabbed Auran in a matter of seconds and pulled him back up toward the edge—and then toward them.
Looking back, they all saw the figure to whom the "rope" belonged. It was Nimuk—and it wasn’t actually a rope, but rather his tongue.
"What the hell? I thought you had the ability of a fish!" said Octo in disbelief, also seeming somewhat afraid to get too close to Nimuk because of his abnormal physiology.
"There are some fish that can stretch their tongues out as far as they can," said Nimuk as he retracted his tongue into his mouth.
"And I happen to be one of them."
"Good job. If not for you, this guy would have been dead for sure," said Henry as he got closer, without showing any of the hesitation or unease that Octo or Marian displayed—something that made Nimuk loosen the bitter expression that had appeared on his face.
"The Malckoy family owes you a life. You can always ask for this favor," said Henry with a slight slap on Nimuk’s back. Afterward, he knelt down to check Auran’s condition.
Auran, however, was completely fine. He showed no signs of fear or panic. Instead, he wore a confused expression as he looked upward.
"Whoa... what happened to the sun?"
he asked Henry, who was kneeling beside him.
