Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 145 - 89: Naming the Children
Sang Luo considered it. "When you have some free time in a few days, you should have someone knock through the wall between our rooms. We can put in a door to make it easier to go back and forth."
"Alright." Lan Cang nodded, then turned to the wardrobe. He took out a few pieces of soft, fine fabric to make some clothes for the children.
"You know how to make clothes?" Sang Luo was astonished.
"I made the dress you’re wearing with my own hands, too," Lan Cang said with a faint smile.
When he was young, his family was poor, so they had no money for new clothes. He could only go to the scrapyard to find clothes others had thrown away. Later, he learned how to recut ill-fitting garments and turn them into new outfits for himself and his younger brother. Over time, he developed some impressive skills. Life got better after he started making a little money, but he was still in the habit of doing things himself whenever he could. Besides, being able to personally make clothes for his partner and children was a rare kind of happiness.
Lan Cang made dozens of beautiful, well-fitting little outfits for the three children to wear in rotation. The little cubs grew quickly. By the time they were about half a month old, they had grown a layer of fine, downy fur that felt wonderful to the touch.
The three cubs each had different-colored fur.
The eldest was a Little Black Wolf, a miniature version of Lan Cang. They looked almost identical.
The second-born’s fur was lighter, almost gray. The base of his tawny eyes had a faint green tint, making them very pretty and cute.
The third cub looked as if the ink had run out by the time she was born. She was a little silver wolf, completely snow-white. Her fluffy, soft white fur was long, and her originally gray-blue beast eyes had become much brighter. With white fur and blue eyes, she was incredibly elegant and beautiful.
Even Lan Cang couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise. She was a mutated Silver Ice Wolf.
Sang Luo, however, thought she looked just like a little Samoyed. She was cute and beautiful enough to die for!
The three cubs also had vastly different personalities.
The eldest was the calmest, which had been obvious since birth. He usually liked to squat by the door, sitting perfectly upright and motionless as he surveyed his surroundings.
While the other two cubs’ ears were still soft and droopy, his stood tall and erect, as if he were constantly on guard against danger, protecting everyone.
Every time he put on that serious, earnest little expression, Sang Luo would almost die laughing.
"Awoo?"
Upon hearing his mother’s cheerful laughter, he would turn his head to glance quizzically into the room, then run inside and nudge her leg with his wet black nose, begging for food.
Sang Luo gave him the nickname Little Stone.
The second-born was the most energetic and active. He was always running around, loved to play, and was a glutton. Every time it was mealtime, he was the most enthusiastic, squeezing in front of his siblings and wailing for food.
When the cubs were nearly a month old, they could start eating a mix of formula and tender minced meat. After Lan Cang finished feeding them their formula as usual, Sang Luo would sometimes take some tender meat out of her space for them as a treat. She always subconsciously gave a little extra to the second-born.
The second-born was also the fattest of the three. He was chubby to begin with, and his fluffy fur and not-yet-grown-out limbs made him look even plumper.
Shortly after birth, his fur had been a gray-brown down, making him look the plainest of the three siblings. Slowly, that gray-brown fur started to take on an orange-red hue, becoming much more vibrant. From a distance, he looked like a chubby little "dirty orange" furball, and he was unbearably cute.
Sang Luo had originally wanted to nickname him "Fatty," but she was genuinely afraid he would stay fat forever. So, she nicknamed him Zhuizui, which also suited his lively and active personality.
The third was the quietest and most well-behaved of the little cubs. It wasn’t that she had a good temper, but rather that she loved to sleep, making her the easiest to raise. Whenever Sang Luo came to see her, she would be sound asleep seven or eight times out of ten, only showing a bit of enthusiasm at mealtimes.
She was also the pickiest eater, only willing to eat the most tender loin meat—a spoiled little princess through and through.
’She gets that temper from me.’
Compared to the eldest, who was too rigid and dense, and the second, who was too lively and mischievous, the third was the most considerate. She loved to curl up in Sang Luo’s arms to sleep, and she slept so soundly, never crying or making a fuss.
At mealtimes, she would even gently rub her little white head against Sang Luo’s hand, purring sweetly to curry favor.
She was also the most icily beautiful of the three cubs.
She had completely won Sang Luo’s heart.
Sang Luo gave her the nickname Kunkun, and also gave her a formal name. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"My beautiful little girl, let’s call you Zhi Xin~" Sang Luo kissed and hugged the white cub. ’Her fur is so soft, and she has this faint, milky scent. It’s enough to melt your heart.’
Watching the three adorable cubs scamper around every day, Sang Luo was reminded of the little lion she had given birth to before. Nearly half a year had passed. ’I wonder how he’s doing now. Is Duotu taking good care of him?’
...
「On the Western Continent, in the Yalan Empire.」
A small, light golden-brown lion cub emerged from the tall grass, covered in dust and dirt. His beautiful fur was a complete mess.
The gasps of servants came from behind him.
"Young Master, why did you sneak off to play here? His Majesty will be angry if he finds out!"
"Quick! Send someone to tell His Majesty we’ve found the Young Master!"
The Young Master had been missing for half a day, and that man was worried to death.
Everyone in the entire Empire knew the Beast King had a treasured son who was his entire world. He would only attend the morning court session after feeding the child his milk each day. If the cub cried or fussed, the session would be delayed, and the ministers would wait in the front court without a single complaint. No one dared to say a word against it.
He even had to hold him during the court session, and don’t even mention after it was over. He watched over him more closely than his own eyes!
The Queen had been dead for half a year, and the Young Master was slowly growing up. Many nobles and ministers wanted to place someone by the Beast King’s side. Even if it was just for the Young Master’s sake, the Empire needed a new Queen.
The Young Master was still so young; he couldn’t be allowed to grow up without a mother’s love.
Unfortunately, Duotu’s heart was entirely focused on his child now, leaving him no time for other trivial matters. Thus, there was still no news about appointing a new Queen.
Meanwhile, Duotu rushed over the moment he heard the news. He scooped the dusty little lion into his arms and returned to the palace to give him a good scrubbing and change him into fresh clothes.
The little lion was extremely well-cared-for. He was chubby, and his fur was like golden silk—soft, smooth, and glossy.
Right now, he was looking at Duotu with unease, shrinking his neck back. "Father, I wasn’t just running around. I only wanted to go see that palace... I heard that’s the palace where Mother used to live..."
He had never seen his mother since he was born and had no idea what she looked like.
When he was younger, he was too oblivious to understand, but now that he was a bit older and had his own thoughts, he instinctively wanted to find anything related to his mother.
He heard from the servants that the King and Queen had been deeply in love, but the Queen had suffered a difficult birth when he was born. After that, the Beast King sealed off Taoyuan Village, forbidding anyone from entering or leaving.
The little lion was very sad. "Mother left because of me..."
"It had nothing to do with you. Someone framed her. It was your father’s failure to protect her." Duotu held his son, his voice gentle and free of blame. "Your mother loved you very much."
He ruffled the little lion’s head. "Haven’t you always wanted to go see Taoyuan Village? I’ll take you there tonight, alright?"
