Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 144 - 88: Showing Off the Children
Three cubs, two male and one female.
The first cub, male. Talent Power: Purple Gold Thunder, Weakening Hunting.
The second cub, male. Talent Power: Wood, Illusion Domain.
The third cub, female. Talent Power: Ice, Soul Extraction.
All three cubs had excellent talents. For their First Rank Talents, they all awakened the most practical Elemental System Talent Powers. The Second Rank powers awakened by the eldest and second eldest were also extremely rare special abilities. On an ever-changing battlefield, they could secure victory with a single move, turn the tables, and reverse the tide of battle!
The third cub’s awakened Talent Power was a bit unique. Even Sang Luo couldn’t quite figure it out, but it was definitely an extremely outstanding Talent Skill that could perhaps offer an unexpected surprise.
Most importantly!
All three cubs were Innate King Beasts!
In the past, she would only have one Innate King Beast per pregnancy. Caesar’s litter was an exception due to his species’ rules, and she had given birth to two. This time, however, she gave birth to a full three in one litter.
The pregnancy lasted the same amount of time, but she gained more power.
Sang Luo had originally estimated she would need to carry two more litters of Innate King Beasts before she could break through to the True King rank. She never expected this single litter would be enough. ’This birth was so worth it!’
Lan Cang couldn’t hide the joy on his face. Cradling the cubs, he said, "Luoluo, I’m going to take them out for a quick tour. So many people have come to the City Lord Mansion today, and they’re all dying to see them!"
Sang Luo didn’t need to use her spiritual power to know a crowd had gathered outside—they were all his men who had followed him for years, each one craning his neck, impatient to get a peek inside. Seeing Lan Cang’s proud and gleeful expression, she smiled. "Go on, but just a quick trip. Come right back, and don’t let the cubs get cold."
"Okay, I’ll be right back!"
...
Outside.
Lan Cang emerged, holding the cubs. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The crowd erupted the moment they saw the three little cubs!
Everyone lost their composure. One beastman, overcome with excitement, transformed into his beast form on the spot and let out a great roar to the heavens, celebrating the birth.
Three Innate King Beasts were enough to make jaws drop.
And a little female cub!!!
Female cubs were incredibly precious. You might find only one among dozens of newborns, and this one was a King Rank female! Her birth was an even greater cause for celebration than that of two male Innate King Beasts! When she grew up, she would likely shake the entire continent!
"Lan Cang, you have some truly incredible luck! To be blessed with such wonderful children!" Asa was so envious he was on the verge of tears.
"It’s all thanks to Luoluo!"
After making his rounds showing off the cubs, Lan Cang returned, placed them in their cradle, and handed them over to the attendants to be cared for.
He entered the room carrying a bowl of freshly warmed milk and a nutritious meal he had prepared himself.
"Luoluo, hurry and eat something to get your strength back."
After giving birth, Sang Luo could no longer consume large quantities of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures. Spiritual Treasures were highly nourishing, but nothing satisfied the palate like a delicious, well-seasoned home-cooked meal. She could finally indulge her cravings!
"I want dry-pot shrimp, braised chicken stew, oysters with minced garlic, and sweet and sour fish..." After finishing her meal, she was still craving more and rattled off a long list of other dishes.
"Alright, alright, I’ll go make them for you. I’ll make you whatever you want." Not caring whether she could possibly eat it all, Lan Cang planted a huge kiss on her cheek and went to get cooking.
While she had been eating, he had constantly put food in her bowl. "You’ve worked so hard, Luoluo. Eat more."
After the two of them had finished their wonderful meal, Sang Luo rubbed her overstuffed belly and let out a contented burp. She felt utterly satisfied.
A short while later, the Old Beast Mother rushed in, holding the wailing cubs. "City Lord, Madam, the Young Masters must be hungry. They won’t stop crying."
’I’ve eaten my fill, but I forgot to feed my babies,’ Sang Luo thought, an awkward expression crossing her face.
The Old Beast Mother asked gently, "Madam, is your milk supply sufficient?"
"Luoluo still needs to rest," Lan Cang said. "Give the cubs to me. I’ve already prepared formula for them."
Lan Cang came out from the kitchen, having prepared three bottles of warm formula. He swirled them in his hands to dissolve the powder, tested the temperature, and then took the cubs from the Old Beast Mother to feed them one by one.
The three little cubs’ cries quickly subsided.
One of the cubs must have been starving, as it immediately grabbed the bottle with its two chubby little front paws and began sucking greedily at the nipple!
Sang Luo was amused. She had Lan Cang bring over the formula canister. Opening the lid, she took a sniff. It had a rich, sweet, milky aroma. It was goat’s milk formula, likely mixed with some powder ground from Spirit Treasure Crystal Stones.
She had seen this before on the Western Continent. Most noble females didn’t breastfeed their cubs personally. They typically handed the cubs off to their Beast Husbands to raise after giving birth. The Male Fathers would use this type of formula, so she didn’t need to worry about the quality.
Sang Luo touched her chest, which was beginning to feel full. "I hear the first milk is very nutritious and good for the cubs. Why don’t I breastfeed for the first month, and you can take over with formula after that?"
"Newborns need to be fed a dozen times a day. Your body can’t take that kind of strain. It’s better if I use the formula."
Raising children was certainly a lot of work.
Sang Luo didn’t insist. "My chest is uncomfortably full. I need to relieve the pressure anyway. How about I feed them for a few days, and then you can switch to formula?"
"Alright."
Newborn cubs do nothing but eat and sleep.
After Lan Cang had fed the three cubs their fill, they fell asleep again.
He handed the swaddled cubs over to the hired Old Beast Mother, who then carried them out of the room.
Lan Cang sat on the edge of the bed and gently stroked her face. "Luoluo," he said in a low, deep voice, "I really don’t know how I can ever make this up to you..."
"What’s this about making it up to me? They’re not just your children; they’re my children, too. They were born carrying my hopes as well." Sang Luo grabbed his large, slender hand, pressed it against her cheek, and gave a playful wink. "The best thing you can do for me is to take good care of our babies."
Lan Cang took a deep breath and pulled her into a tight embrace, rendered speechless.
’She had given him everything.’
After they shared an intimate moment, Sang Luo figured it was probably almost time to feed the cubs again. She patted Lan Cang’s hand. "Get me some clean clothes. I want to get out of bed for a bit and go see our babies."
"You should keep resting. I can go check on them," Lan Cang said disapprovingly.
"I’m much tougher than you think. Relax, I’m really fine. Now hurry and find me something to wear. I need to get out of bed and walk around. I’m going stir-crazy in this bed!" Sang Luo insisted, so Lan Cang reluctantly got up and pulled several new outfits for her from the wardrobe.
Sang Luo chose a deep blue robe embroidered with a silver pattern. It was lined with flannel, and the cuffs and collar were trimmed with a layer of soft white fur, making it both comfortable and warm.
The cubs were settled in a side room next to the master bedroom.
Neither of them was native to the North Continent, so their frail newborn cubs couldn’t endure the cold. Fortunately, several Fire Origin Stones burned in the fireplace, keeping the entire room toasty warm. When Sang Luo went to look, the cubs were all curled up in their fleece blankets, sleeping soundly.
She gently rocked the cradle and reached in to give their little bodies a soft scratch.
One cub wriggled and opened its misty eyes. They were a pale, grayish-blue. Perhaps because it had just been born, a thin film had yet to recede, making its eyes look hazy and gray and utterly endearing.
This was the youngest, the little female cub.
Suddenly, another cub stuck out its tiny tongue and gave Sang Luo’s finger a playful lick. Its eyes were a feral, tawny-brown, large, round, and absolutely adorable. This was the second-born.
The eldest was the most stoic of the three. He wouldn’t cry or fuss no matter how she teased him, a trait he clearly inherited from his father. His large, glistening eyes were the pure black of obsidian. This was the cub who looked most like Lan Cang.
