Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 109: Try to unite them
Celestia’s POV:
It was way past afternoon. Still, I hadn’t eaten anything. I have lost my appetite completely. A white witch came to my room a while ago and offered me some milk and honey, but I didn’t care to touch them at all. I placed the food plate down on the ground and laid down on the bed.
I wasn’t able to stop thinking about the way Theo had lashed out at me earlier. And I was not too fond of the way he keeps on insulting Father Oberon. He called him a double-faced cowardly king. But if anyone is double-faced here, it is Theo.
He is the one who acts differently every time! And this time, I swear that he was not in his normal form. His eyes weren’t sea green. They were murky and reddish like the time when he summoned the serpent king.
That is what frightens me the most. Is he going to summon a demonic entity again? But I don’t think it is going to benefit him in any way if he does that. Perhaps I am just overthinking! Whatever! Theo has succeeded in making me insane.
The same white witch who gave me breakfast arrived at my room again with a food plate. I haven’t even had my breakfast yet. She laid her eyes on the uneaten plates that were on the floor.
"Oh, dear! Why are you punishing your body by starving yourself?" she said in a very soothing voice. She is very nice to me, but I don’t know why she hides her face with a cloak.
And this is the first time she has actually spoken to me. When I asked her for directions yesterday, she just signaled her hands and showed me the right way. Now that I hear her voice, it sounded too familiar to me.
"Daviana," I cried out. " How did you even get in here? And how do you approach me whenever I am bleak?"
She immediately removed her cloak and revealed herself to me. " It is good to know that you are able to recognize me just by my voice," she smiled.
It was good to see at least one friendly face here. The rest of them here are Sirens, and I can’t stand them. I got the food plate from her and placed it down on the floor right next to my breakfast plate.
Daviana frowned at my actions. "You never learn from your mistakes, don’t you? You always think and act with your heart instead of listening to your mind!"
"I don’t even want to think anymore," I sighed and sat down on my bed. I clenched the sheets of the mattress and looked up at her. "This overthinking kills me. It would be very nice if you give me a potion that will make me stop thinking about anything completely."
Daviana stared at me pitifully as if I was a child. "There is no such potion for that, Celestia. It is never good to suppress our thoughts either. Our mind always tries to say something to us, and it is for the best if you listen to it and act."
None of her words made sense to me. I simply nodded to her and stared down at my uneaten plates. She strode closer to me and touched my hand.
For a while, she was silent as she penetrated into my mind and read my thoughts. Her expression changed at some point. She pressed her raspberry-colored lips together and continued to read my mind.
"I didn’t expect this from King Oberon," she retorted and gripped my hand even firmer. " He never gave justice to Sapphire just because she was not a Fae! It is no wonder why the Silver Shadow seeks revenge."
"Exactly! Father Oberon is not righteous either," I responded.
Usually, she reads my mind quickly. But this time, she was taking forever to do it. Or maybe she has got overwhelmed just like me.
"I never expected this," Daviana said, and her hand left my skin after that." All this time, I thought that Silver Shadow was the immoral one. Both of them are corrupt here. And you are tangled between these two!"
"Finally, someone understands what I am going through," I mumbled.
She gave me a warm smile and patted my head gently as I do to Tangerine when she is in the cage.
"I am sorry for overwhelming you in the past, Celestia. I was prejudiced against Silver Shadow and considered him completely evil. But I never knew that he got turned to the dark side by the circumstances."
"So what do you reckon?" I asked her warily. Now that the truth is finally out, I was so much looking forward to knowing whose side Daviana is. She didn’t reply to me for a long time. She must be evaluating her options in her head.
"Silver Shadow might have his reasons, and I appreciate the way he is ruling the lowlands now. But......." She paused again.
"But what?" I eagerly questioned her.
"I still don’t trust Theo," she confessed.
This is not what I expected her to say. Why does she still doubt Theo?
"Celestia! You need to know the laws of nature. You can’t expect a good tree to grow if you plant evil seeds on the land. Do you understand what I am saying?"
Surprisingly, this time I was able to understand her metaphorical statement. Theo had accomplished his goals with the help of the dark side. So the consequences of his actions are not going to bring any good?!!!
"But he did that with good intentions! He wants all of the lowlanders to be treated equally," I argued with her.
"I understand that, Celestia. I am a Lowlander, after all. But intentions never matter! Actions are the one that counts. Every unrighteous action always brings bad consequences."
"Fine," I sighed out. " So you are saying to me that his actions are going to bring destruction?"
"Not exactly! Silver Shadow and King Oberon are both equally responsible for the destruction that is about to happen because both of them are wrong here. King Oberon’s unrighteous act made Silver Shadow turn to the dark side. And Silver Shadow’s unrighteous act in conquering the lowlands has given rise to another greater evil."
"Another greater evil?" I gasped. " But what is that?"
"Are you forgetting about the Demon Princess Lilin here? She was not very strong in the past. She did nothing to stop Silver Shadow when he freed the demonic warriors from the doors of the damned. When the demon queen Lilith got to know about this, she got frantic. She then commanded Lilin to not get back in Shadow realm again until she retrieves back the Demonic warriors who got freed."
What?!! I didn’t know about this. Why did no one tell me about this? Perhaps Cynthia and Theo were discussing this in secret.
"And that is why Lilin was obligated to get the powers of Nephilim to strengthen herself. Now she has become a greater threat because of the actions of your man," she explained.
Now I understand why Theo discussed with Cynthia in secret because he didn’t want me to know that he is indirectly the reason for Lilin’s newfound awakening.
"So, what can I do now?" I cried out. " I agree that my lover and my father are the reason for the upcoming hardship. But if both of them are wrong, then whose side can I take? Tell me, Daviana!"
"You don’t have to choose sides here, Celestia. But you have to mend the bridges between the both of them now. Try to unite them together before it is too late. We have to be together if we need to defeat the Nephilim."
Daviana was right! I should try to unite them together. That is the answer to everything.
"But Theo doesn’t want to unite with my father," I blurted out to her. "He is insisting on facing Lilin alone."
"Then you have to try and change his mind. Convince him that it is insanity to battle with a Nephilim alone."
"But he is not listening to me...," I shouted out in frustration.
Daviana quietly stared at me for a while, and she fluttered her brown eyelashes at me. " You have to try again, Celestia. Be kind to him! And he is going to listen to you because you are his lady love."
I grunted at her response. How can I talk to him? He brutally yelled at me this morning. I am so mad at him that I don’t want to speak to him again.
But he is in distress because of Lilin. She has conquered the Selene kingdom now, and I think that he is agitated because of that. I should not increase his agitation more. It is better to talk to him compassionately, just like Daviana suggested.
"Thank you so much for the advice, Daviana. You always help me when I need you the most," I said to her and stepped on the floor.
I wore my shoes, and I was about to leave the room, but she stopped me. "I will not let you step out of this room if you don’t eat your food," she declared.
I turned to her side and grinned at her. She is like a mother that I never had!
"Fine! I will eat," I said to her.
