Chapter 56: Chapter 9 Auson, The Current Master of the Secret Realm
Previously, Char had thought that if he followed the plan he had set in his heart to recruit Magic Pets, he wouldn’t know when he could collect a hundred strands of Praying Power.
Even after completing his first Upgrade Task and earning fifty strands of Praying Power for free, he was still short of fifty.
If he only saved without spending, it would be fine. Although the speed at which he was amassing Praying Power had slowed down because he had killed most of the common species nearby at least once, and compared to when he had first crossed over, the Praying Power he received for first kills had clearly decreased, but he was still able to collect some every day, and it would only take about half a month to save up fifty.
Half a month was just enough time for him to complete his first Upgrade Task.
That time was already not short, and besides, he couldn’t just save without spending.
He had now officially added the cultivation of Magic Pets to his schedule—recruiting new Magic Pets was important, but nurturing the existing ones was equally important.
To cultivate Magic Pets, he had to pray for Energy Essence and attribute food every few days.
The Praying Power he earned daily minus what he spent left him with not much at the end of the day; relying solely on first kill tasks, collecting fifty strands of Praying Power would definitely take over a month.
But now, a big event that suddenly started contributed over fifty strands of Praying Power to him in one go, and the Undead species that had just died at his, Clover Mantis, and Star Worm’s hands were only a portion of it.
Despite the fact that among the hundred-plus Undead that were killed, some species inevitably repeated, and the remaining Undead species were likely not many.
Even so, the remaining Undead were still worth looking forward to.

Perhaps, he wouldn’t even have to wait for the completion of the first carriage Upgrade Task before he could collect the hundred strands of Praying Power needed to start recruiting his fifth Magic Pet.
Thinking of this, Char couldn’t help but feel full of drive.
Although the Clover Mantis was already enough to protect his safety, he would of course be most willing to recruit his fifth Magic Pet as soon as possible.
Especially in the current situation where he faced a threat once more, the urgency to recruit a new Magic Pet was once again intensified.
Moreover, there was more good news.
Although the threat he faced this time was bigger and more terrifying than the previous one, it was not as urgent as the last time.
After all, such a multitude of Undead wouldn’t have transformed overnight; the Undead crisis in this area must have existed many years ago, and it wasn’t as if it would explode the moment he encountered it.
So, for him, there was still time.
Rather than a crisis, this felt more like a large-scale dungeon that suddenly opened; if he made good use of it, not only would he be able to navigate through this crisis smoothly, but his strength could also greatly increase.
After this analysis, Char felt much more relieved.
After closing his personal panel, he walked toward the direction of the cabin.
“Wow! It’s Moonlight Flower!”
“It’s Mouse Light Grass!”
“This is Long Sword Iris!”
Betty’s exclamations of surprise were non-stop as they walked through the garden.
Char didn’t recognize the flowers in the garden, only thinking they were pretty, and despite being untended for a long time, they still bloomed vigorously.
But judging from Betty’s reactions, these flowers were probably not just pretty but also very precious; they might even be Magic Plants that could be used to make Magic Potions.
Soon Char arrived in front of the cabin.
The door was open.
This space seemed to have been fixed with some sophisticated magic; it maintained a warm climate like an eternal spring all year round, and even dust was scarce, so the cabin, possibly untended for many years, still appeared very clean, without a trace of dust or signs of dilapidation.
Of course, all this was merely Char’s speculation; after all, magic was a realm he had not yet come in contact with, and his conjectures were based solely on his understanding of fantasy worlds.
The furnishings inside the cabin were both exquisite and close to nature, presenting a fresh and simplistic style which seemed characteristic of that of Elves.
However, for the time being, Char was merely looking around without daring to touch the furnishings within.
Although Auson had mentioned there was no danger inside, and from his recent experience, the original owner of the Garden Secret Realm did not seem to bear malice towards outsiders.
Still, he remained minimally cautious.
But when Char saw Auson confidently making his way through the living room, opening the back door, and running towards an even smaller cabin behind the house,
he suddenly realized there might be some errors in his earlier speculation about Auson’s origins and called out to Auson.
“Auson, wait a moment!”
The red mushroom hopping forward on the grass suddenly stopped.
“Do you live… were you born here? Is this your home?”
Auson nodded his head.
Char walked up to Auson and squatted down in front of him.
“Can you tell me about the past?”
Auson tilted his head and looked at Char for a few seconds, not quite understanding what Char meant. Betty rattled off a translation in her own way on the side, and only then did Auson finally grasp Char’s question, and he began to speak hesitantly.
Char frowned from time to time, guessing some parts, and often Betty had to help translate, making the whole process seem choppy and awkward.
Finally, after about fifteen minutes, Char managed to vaguely understand the gist of the story and couldn’t help but exhale deeply.
Communicating with Auson was indeed no easy task; simple exchanges were fine, but as soon as it involved complicated matters, it would become a guessing game mingled with guesswork.
There was no helping it; although little fairies are naturally endowed with several languages and a certain amount of knowledge and can communicate with people, Auson and Betty’s situations were not quite the same.
Betty had companions from the beginning and had spent years in Green Rose Village with a multitude of beings to communicate with, so her communication skills were strong, and she could understand Char’s meaning relatively easily.
But Auson couldn’t do that.
Fortunately, he still managed to clarify the rough outline of events.
Indeed, as he had adjusted in his mind, Auson was born in this Garden Secret Realm.
However, Auson had never seen the original owner of the Garden Secret Realm, and the first person he encountered after his birth was a powerful Flower Fairy.
That’s right, powerful.
In Auson’s description, this Flower Fairy, who had looked after him since his birth and played the role of his mother, was much stronger than Sister Fei Lin whom Betty often mentioned, not only possessing two Demon Beasts as her animal companions, but her own strength was also formidable.
Together, their combat power would not be inferior to that of a Clover Mantis.
For a Flower Fairy, such combat power was extraordinarily strong, well beyond the norm.
This Flower Fairy, aside from caring for and instructing Auson, often battled against the Undead, because the original owner of the Garden Secret Realm had died at the hands of the Undead.
Later, this Flower Fairy also perished to the Undead, leaving only Auson in the entire Garden Secret Realm.
It could be said that Auson was now the current master of the Secret Realm.
And it was with Auson’s permission that Char and his companions could successfully enter the Secret Realm.
