Evolution begins with an ant colony-Chapter 307: Another One?
Kaldarix, his face lit up with excitement, pointed towards a stall selling savory pastries. "Father, how about some of those freshly baked bread rolls?" he suggested eagerly.
Mellin nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "And maybe some cakes too? I saw a stall with a mouthwatering display just over there," she added, gesturing towards a nearby stand adorned with an assortment of delectable desserts.
Akun smiled warmly at their excitement. "Great idea," he said, leading them toward the stalls they had chosen. As they walked, the scent of freshly baked bread and sweets became stronger, drawing them deeper into the lively marketplace.
As they reached the stalls, Akun took a moment to look at the arrangement of treats on display. Mellin pointed excitedly at a tray of colorful cakes, her eyes wide with anticipation. "I want one of those, master!" she exclaimed, pointing to a particularly vibrant slice.
Kaldarix’s gaze, however, lingered on a batch of freshly baked bread, the aroma wafting tantalizingly through the air. "I’ll take some of that,"
Akun smiled at his children’s choices, then turned to the stall owners to make their orders. "We’ll have one of those cakes and a few loaves of bread, please," he requested, gesturing toward the items Mellin and Kaldarix had selected.
"Right away my liege," The Kingin stall owner nodded in response, swiftly packaging up the requested treats. As they handed over what was requested, Akun exchanged a few friendly words with them, thanking them for their goods.
With their purchases in hand, Akun, Kaldarix, and Mellin found a nearby bench to sit and enjoy their snacks. As they settled in, each of them took a bite of their chosen treat.
Mellin’s eyes lit up with delight as she savored the first mouthful of the colorful cake, its sweetness dancing on her taste buds. "Mmm, this cake is delicious!" she exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across her face.
Kaldarix nodded in agreement, his mouth full of soft bread. "Yeah, and this bread is amazing too," he added between bites, his expression content as he enjoyed the simple pleasure of the freshly baked loaf.
Akun chuckled softly at their enthusiasm, taking a bite of his own snack. The flavors exploded on his tongue, and he couldn’t help but agree with Kaldarix and Mellin’s assessment. "You’re right, these treats are fantastic," he remarked, a warm smile gracing his face as he watched Mellin and Kaldarix enjoy their food.
Akun’s curiosity piqued, his brows furrowing slightly as he turned to Kaldarix and Mellin. "By the way, the food both of you eat, do you digest it or?"
Kaldarix blinked, momentarily puzzled by the question. "What do you mean, Father? The food we eat turns into energy, isn’t that what food is for?" he replied, his tone laced with innocence and genuine curiosity.
Meanwhile, Mellin’s face lit up with pure delight as she indulged in another bite of her cake, her eyes sparkling with pleasure at the delectable taste.
Akun’s mind whirred with questions as he sought clarification from the system. "System, is what he’s saying true? I thought they were both silver puppets, so how are they able to eat?"
The system’s response echoed in his thoughts, shedding light on the matter. †[Although they may be silver puppets, their bodies are capable of turning food into energy stored in their cores.]†
Akun’s mind absorbed the information, and he understood, "Guess that does make sense," he mused silently to himself, a thoughtful expression crossing his face.
"My liege... Akun, is that you?" a voice called out to Akun from behind him, the words echoing in the air.
Surprised, Akun paused and turned his head towards the source of the voice, his brows furrowing in recognition. "Wait, this voice is oddly familiar," he mused inwardly, as hie slowly turned his head, his eyes landing on the figure behind him.
As his gaze landed on the familiar face of Azra, the orc princess, Akun’s eyes widened slightly with a mix of emotions. Closing his eyes momentarily, he let out a sigh before addressing Azra. "What do you want, Azra?" he asked, his tone tinged with a hint of weariness.

The orc princess stood before Akun, her dark blue skin shimmering under the festival lamps, her dazzling yellow eyes sparkling with curiosity. Her long, flowing white hair cascaded down her shoulders, and the blue horn on her forehead they pointed upwards added an air of regality to her presence. She was dressed in a simple white dress that accentuated her natural beauty.
Her cheeks flushed slightly as she spoke, her voice soft yet filled with seriousness. "W-would you mind if I had a small talk with you?" she asked, her eyes meeting Akun’s with a mix of eagerness and nervousness.
Inwardly, Kaldarix and Mellin exchanged surprised glances as their eyes widened at the sight of Azara approaching Akun. "Another one!?" They mused with a didn’t of astonishment.

As Gideon and Oliver strolled through the festival, basking in the lively atmosphere, they had a little chat about the colorful sights and sounds surrounding them.
As Gideon and Oliver made their way through the bustling festival, taking in the sights and sounds, Oliver couldn’t resist his playful banter.
"Ah, Gideon, my dear friend," Oliver began, a mischievous twinkle in his eye, "do you sense the air today? It’s positively brimming with romance!"
Gideon chuckled, rolling his eyes at Oliver’s antics. "Romance, you say? I believe that’s just the aroma of freshly baked pastries and the sounds of laughter."

Oliver feigned a dramatic gasp, clutching his heart in mock offense. "Pastries and laughter? Gideon, you wound me! Surely, you must sense the palpable tension of budding love stories all around us! Can’t you see it over there." He pointed to a table with some kingins and evolved ants, "And there." He pointed again.
Gideon shook his head, a fond smile playing on his lips. "Ah, Oliver, ever the romantic. But amidst all this ’palpable tension,’ let’s not forget the real reason we’re here – to enjoy the festivities."
