Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking-Chapter 923: First Phase of the Colonization

The teams were invited, assembled, and formed. Plans were made, discussions were heard, and the general timeline was drawn. The leadership ladder and opportunities were revealed, and things were finalized...for now, at least.

With all of this on hand, the colonization efforts could begin in earnest.

And begin it certainly had...

The timing itself was fortunate. Both the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm and the Crimson Womb Chaos Realm stabilized at the same time. The formation that Cedric left on them became inane and practically dismissed them. It happened naturally; none of the Human Sovereigns even had to exert effort to remove them.

The defensive and security measures for both chaos realms have been established. Right now, the current Space Marine army stationed in the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm’s dimensional gap has fallen drastically since most of them have been transferred.

Usually, such a large-scale movement wouldn’t be passed. Even the Human Sovereigns will receive a lot of criticism when news of this is leaked. The only reason why this had been permitted was because of the colonization efforts.

Besides, having that many Space Marines in the front lines had been a waste of human resources lately. Without the demons or the Horde harassing them in their front yard, stationing space marines there became an unnecessary drain on humanity’s resources. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Especially considering the god-killing machines that Gibson created and had installed in the dimensional gap. Those things almost rendered the Space Marines jobless.

That’s why transferring them to other chaos realms to continue their guarding duties was a much better use for them. Sure, some have been dissatisfied, but what can they do? Such is the life of a solider.

Arming the frontlines just as well as the defensive lines of the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm was still underway. Gibson, of course, was more than happy to do it. After all, he too was one of the more enthusiastic people about this whole colonization project.

It won’t reach the same level soon, but eventually. Gibson wasn’t one to procrastinate.

Anyway...

Multiple teams have been sent out to build the first colony for both chaos realms. Each team carries expectations and a schedule that must be adhered to closely.

Their first priority is to prepare both chaos realms to be in a state where they could accept mass migration. Trillions of humans are to be expected, possibly more. And that’s just for the first migration. The numbers might fluctuate over time depending on the situation.

The conditions needed for the migration weren’t necessarily harsh. After all, priorities are given to strong life evolvers—people who could practically survive harsh climates and environments like they’re nothing.

However, humans weren’t ones to be satisfied with what they were given. They always seek progression and to increase the quality of their life. Of course, their basic living conditions must be well enough too.

Providing those level of living conditions wasn’t necessarily hard, just time consuming, and that’s the real kicker in the whole project. Time.

But it doesn’t matter. Humans got plenty of time. They’re in a schedule, sure, but they can be flexible too. It’s not like either of the Chaos Realms will disappear on them. What matters is making good use of the time they have.

It’s going to take a while, sure, but that’s a given since this is about development.

Obviously, it’s not limited to just that.

Ultimately, they are in an entirely different chaos realm. It’s not the home that they’re familiar with, not the same one that has been mapped out, occupied, and transformed into a habitable environment for their descendants.

Everything around them might look familiar, but there’s no doubt that they’re new. Just because it looks the same doesn’t necessarily mean that it is the same. Therefore, people who are well versed in analyzing the environment and needs of humans were gathered in teams to spearhead the colonization efforts.

Of course, since they were in an entirely different chaos realm, it’s inevitable that they will come in contact with things that were naturally made to be unique. Things like pocket dimensions, secret realms, and unique landmasses will eventually show up in their search, and they must be studied too so that humans can make full use of them eventually.

And since the chaos realms were left alone to recover and weren’t influenced by human agendas, it’s expected that there will be a lot of things in here that are not specifically safe for humanity’s living conditions.

For now, those places were to be marked on the map and only observed from a distance. They will explore them closely later on, but right now, the main priority of the teams is to prepare both chaos realms for the inevitable mass migration.

Kudos to the teams, though. Because as soon as they landed, they immediately went to work.

A lot of them were practically vibrating in excitement and eagerness the moment they arrived.

Speaking of which, both Nick and Pat could’ve instantly taken them to the initial base with a snap of their fingers. However, they deigned otherwise.

They thought that, by doing that, the teams might start to have doubts and cause dissatisfaction immediately.

Therefore, instead of giving them that convenience, they instead allowed the teams to travel through ships manually so that they could see the Chaos Realms form from afar and truly realize the weight of their responsibilities and realize just how big this project truly was.

And that worked beautifully...

The teams saw their sandbox from afar and felt overwhelmed. Seeing it in a projection was one thing, but seeing in person? That’s an entirely different matter.

They felt so small before the vast expanse of their sandbox, yet they also feel excited. There was a lot for them to do, sure, but that’s what makes it exciting. This will keep their active minds occupied a very long while.

And that’s why, as soon as they landed, they immediately went to work.

Their landing zone had been secured, but not that well. They fixed that right away.

The place was practically barren, but very soon, camps were erected, basic amenities were built, and construction occurred en masse.

Members of the Makers Guild went ham on the construction; each one had practically thrown themselves into their work that they almost never took breaks.

They’re not being forced to do this. They did it out of their own volition. Those who joined the Makers Guild shared the same one-track passion with their guild master. They just want to make things that will make life easier for people. They don’t care about fame, glory, or riches.

This was their true passion made manifest, and nobody could extricate them from it.

That’s why in just a single week, the camp was made, one that’s sufficient for the first mobilization. That doesn’t mean that the makers’ work was done. Hell, far from it! It wouldn’t even count as a start.

But nobody minded. Why? Because the passion that the makers displayed allowed them to stay ahead of the schedule.

And seeing their passionate colleagues going to town also infected others. It made them more excited, more eager, and more passionate with their own work.

Things went fast since then. In a single month, the full camp was completed, one that would cover everything they’d need and want for the first phase of the project. This base didn’t even look the same as the one they started with during the first week.

Everybody practically saw how a high-tech and modern base was created right before their eyes. The makers were truly incredible people. And they didn’t even look tired.

It was only after they completed the base that they took some days off. Sure, they were tired, but the brilliance of their eyes and their passion haven’t faded. If anything, this was just the beginning.

Other teams were already on the move. Some already flew far enough from the base to start building the networks and the portals. They started mapping out the stars and the solar system where they landed.

This solar system will be their first colony. Yes, they need that much space, and this is them being conservative with their actions.

Now that the first colony base had been completed, more operations could begin in earnest. In fact, it has already started.

The teams have already dispersed across the solar system to take care of their jobs.

And they’re keeping ahead of their schedule.

The same thing applied to the team on the other chaos realm. Even though they’re extremely far from one another, it’s like they all share the same urgency and enthusiasm that kept things moving fast.

The Human Sovereigns were, frankly, a little bit surprised with their enthusiasm. They didn’t expect the teams to go at it this hard. But maybe this was natural.

After all, it’s not every day that they get to participate in such a humongous project such as this one.

That said, this works just fine. They applauded everybody’s enthusiasm and encouraged them to keep it up.

They’re aware that this possibly can’t go on forever, but that’s fine, that’s to be expected. They’re just happy that things are moving in the right direction.
