Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking-Chapter 924 - 21 out of 99 Origin Laws
--
Of course Cedric was aware of the ongoing colonization. He had foreseen it happening, after all. Furthermore, he’s the one who personally cleansed the filth in both of those chaos realms.
He’s the reason why they could colonize those two chaos realms this soon in the first place, so it would be weird if he’s unaware of what they’re doing.
Cedric didn’t receive an invitation to join the colonization teams, though. He knew that they were inviting people. Hell, they even sent some people for some of his citizens, especially the ones from the Makers Guild (most of these men left with them, by the way, of course, under his permission.)
As for inviting him, the Sector Lord, and involving him in the colonization efforts? No, none of them bothered to do that. His name might never even cross the minds of the Human Sovereigns.
Cedric didn’t know why, and he really couldn’t be bothered to speculate. If he’s not invited, then he’s not invited. That’s that. No harm, no foul. The Human Council surely have their considerations.
Besides, Cedric himself doesn’t think much about it. In his mind, he had already done his part. He was the one who cleansed the filth off of those chaos realms. That’s more work than any colonist could ever handle, and he did it on his own.
Of course, if it were up to him, nobody would know that it’s him, but it still counts in his opinion.
He doesn’t have to be there for what comes next; they could handle it just fine. Besides, he’s more than happy to stay low-profiled and tend to his own property. Plus, he’s got other matters to attend to.
Of course, Cedric didn’t dare to peek while the colonization efforts were ongoing.
Nicholas and Patricia were very vigilant lately; their attention was practically glued to those areas, so much so that they even tracked the movement of mosquitoes. Cedric himself couldn’t guarantee that he could approach those areas without alerting them, so he doesn’t even bother.
However, since their focus was currently outside of the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm, it gave Cedric an easier time gaining the recognition of origin laws.
He doesn’t even need to go out at this point. Just by gathering all intelligence he had in his partial acknowledgements, Cedric had learned how to completely hide the sensations and phenomena of his breakthrough completely.
It helps that the source laws don’t descend so closely to where he is anymore whenever this happens. Otherwise, he would still have to step out of the chaos realm and make his breakthroughs out in the void.
But yes, Cedric doesn’t have to go out in the void to make his breakthroughs anymore. He could just do it at the comfort of his own home and ensure that nobody was aware of it happening.
Not even Nick or Patricia would sense it happening even if they were paying attention. The seclusion room that he made ensures that not even a trace of his breakthrough aura would leak out. And Cedric himself doesn’t go out of that room leaking the same aura.
He’s that careful, not out of wariness but out of privacy.
By now, Cedric has made such great strides in his origin law comprehension that it’s not even fair. The more origin laws he learned, the faster he progressed. It’s absurd, really.
Even a single one of the many origin laws he knew would take ages for anybody else to comprehend, yet he only needed a couple of dozen years to do so at this point.
Sure, he still stuck with the simple concept laws, ones that are straightforward and have fewer requirements for law essences, but still, his progress was just so fast that it’s too unfair.
At this current time, Cedric has gained the acknowledgement of a total of 20 Origin Laws, and he’s nearly done with his 21st.
Mind you, it hasn’t been that long since he arrived at the Origin Heaven Castle and learned that he had competitors. Back then, the oldest amongst the competitors were still way ahead of him, yet now, only after a couple hundred years, Cedric had completely overtaken him.
He’s gone so far ahead that they wouldn’t even be able to see his back, or even his shadow.
The best part? Nobody knew of this aside from him and the ghosts’ servants of the castle. His other competitors still think that he’s doing his best to catch up, not knowing that he’s already so far ahead of them. Even better, they wouldn’t know until it’s too late. The ghost servants promised to not inform the others, after all.
Hell, if Cedric truly made a move, he could slay them all with one hand folded behind his back. It wouldn’t change even if they joined hands.
By now, Life Evolution Realm doesn’t matter to him anymore. Even if he were to face Primal Origin Lifeforms, Cedric could advance and retreat with freedom. Hell, depending on his mood, he might even kill them instead!
But of course, Cedric wouldn’t go out of his way to do that. He’s not a lunatic. Unless he’s provoked, he’s more than happy to mind his own business.
Aside from that, Cedric had also counted how many origin law tablets there were swimming in that nebula. Previously, he couldn’t count them since they were swimming too fast and the density of origin laws in the nebula overwhelmed him, but now that he had gained the recognition of a good chunk of them, he’d gotten used to it.
There were 99 of those Origin Law Tablets. Each one contains a complete origin law diagram and unlocks the other half of the law essences needed to complete them.
Initially, Cedric was skeptical. He thought that there’d be more, and he did his best to confirm his suspicions. First on his own, but after learning that he could find nothing else, he asked the ghosts’ servants and was told that there were, indeed, only 99 of them.
Well, he couldn’t be blamed for second-guessing; the tablets swim so fast that they give an impression that there’s more of them. Besides, the origin law diagrams in them shift colors depending on the angle, which further feeds the visual illusion.
Anyway, 99 Origin Laws...
Whether that’s truly all or not, at the very least, Cedric had a clear target now. And he had nearly completed 21 of them, meaning that there are 78 left for him to comprehend.
And once he learned and gained the acknowledgement of all those 99 Origin Laws, he gained the qualification to comprehend the true origin of them all, the Primordial Chaos Law.
There’s still a long way for him to go, but Cedric wasn’t impatient.
His progress was already incredibly fast. And the more origin laws he comprehended, the faster his speed just got. It wouldn’t be long until he gets there eventually and becomes the new master and owner of the Lost Void.
And before this huge thing, everything else was secondary to Cedric.
He doesn’t care about how slow or fast the colonization progress is on both chaos realms. He doesn’t care about what the Human Sovereigns thought about him, if they even thought about him at all. He doesn’t care if creatures from other chaos realms discover what humans were trying to do and decides to wage war upon them.
Hell, he doesn’t even actively train to progress in life evolution anymore. Why should he when he automatically makes progress whenever he gains the acknowledgement of Origin Laws anyway?
Proof? Well, Cedric is at the peak of the Empyrean Realm right now, and he didn’t even try. He was carried here naturally by the tides of his progress in origin law comprehension.
Hell, it might even continue carrying him to the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm by itself. Sure, he might need to deal with those shackles, but Cedric wasn’t afraid of them.
If Nick and Pat could do it, so could he. He didn’t even doubt his chances at all.
What he cared about was protecting his own assets and continuing his original law comprehension. Everything else was secondary.
But despite Cedric’s monotonous trend of life, he wasn’t really bored.
To him, delving through the profound mysteries of origin laws was incredibly fun. He especially loves it when things start making sense, and the fact that he gains acknowledgement for his correct answers as a form of validation makes it even better.
Of course, it’s not always work for him. Every 100 years, Cedric would take a break from his seclusion and spend a year’s worth of time with his wives and children.
At this point, he was a true ancestor. The Stormrider name was more than just a clan or a household name; it’s practically an ancestral lineage, especially considering how every descendant, no matter how horrible their initial talents were, somehow becomes successful on their own.
In the clan’s eyes, their ancestor and his family had long since passed down the responsibilities to their descendants and ascended to another realm. Some even thought that they were long dead.
And Cedric doesn’t mind. He was already more than happy to revive the Stormrider name and elevated it to this status.
