Chapter 815: Chapter 850: Able to Accept

Seeing the concern on Daxton’s face, Alice Conley felt a bit embarrassed and decided to speak frankly, "It’s nothing, just morning sickness."

"..." Daxton was completely stunned, and after a while, he finally reacted, saying, "Morning sickness? Uh... is it the morning sickness I’m thinking of?"

"It should be the morning sickness you’re thinking of," she said. "It’s a pregnancy phenomenon that occurs in the early stages of pregnancy. So don’t worry, I’ve gotten used to it after all this vomiting these days."

Daxton stared at Alice, then at her abdomen, "So... you’re pregnant?"

"Yes." She nodded.

Daxton thought he had asked a silly question; if she was already experiencing morning sickness, she must be pregnant.

"Do your parents know?" he asked as they walked back to the restaurant.

"They didn’t know when we first went on a blind date, but I told them recently, and in the end, they agreed to let me have the baby."

"What about the father of the baby?" he asked, unable to resist. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"We broke up," she said. "So I’ll be a single mother going forward. If that bothers you, we can finish this meal and part ways."

"What are you talking about?" Daxton patted Alice Conley’s shoulder, "We’re friends, aren’t we? You have the courage to be a single mom, and while I feel for you, I’m more impressed by your bravery."

Once they returned to the restaurant and sat down, Daxton took out his phone and showed Alice a photo.

In the picture were two men with their arms around each other’s shoulders, facing the camera. One of the men was Daxton, who was smiling happily, and the other man looked similarly tall and lean but appeared more aloof and refined. Although his smile wasn’t as pronounced as Daxton’s, the warmth in his eyes and the curve of his lips softened his initial aloofness.

"Is this your friend? He’s quite good-looking," Alice commented after taking a look.

"He’s the one I love," Daxton replied with a smile.

This time, it was Alice’s turn to be stunned, "The person you love?" In other words, Daxton loves a man? And according to Daxton, he and this man love each other!

Alice had read many novels and comics about LGBTQ+ relationships before, but when a real-life situation presented itself, she was completely taken aback.

Seeing her shocked expression, Daxton chuckled self-deprecatingly, "I know this isn’t something everyone can accept, but since you had the courage to tell me your personal matters, I thought I’d be honest with you as a friend, of course, if you’re still willing to be friends with me."

"Of course, of course, I’m definitely willing! I... uh, I can totally accept this!" Alice quickly said, worried he might not believe her, and added, "Really, I’ve watched a lot of animations, comics, and movies about this community, so I genuinely understand!"

She spoke earnestly, reaching across the table to firmly grasp Daxton’s hand, as if trying to warm him with the warmth of camaraderie.

Daxton couldn’t help but chuckle aloud.

He expected that confessing this truth might lead to awkwardness even if she could accept it, but he didn’t anticipate this outcome.
