Crownless Reincarnation: New World? Nah I'd win-Chapter 27: Talk with the Ghost.
Chapter 27 - Talk with the Ghost.
The bottle hanging on the tree made a musical sound by colliding with each other as Akamir walked out of it.
"Urgh. My body hurts."
Akamir grumbled stretching his body to alleviate the pain.
Most of his injuries had healed already due to the influence of the crown.
'Good thing, it can hide in my body.'
Akamir mused as he began to walk.
Looking down, he adjusted the egg that was in his coat, making sure it wasn't hurt.
"Kill it before it hatches."
A grumbling voice echoed from above him.
Akamir glanced at the woman floating just beside him.
"Why?" Akamir asked dryly.
Nayomi crossed her arms, her expression twisted in irritation. "That thing is a disaster. The Void Fox should not exist. It's a mistake."
"...I see." Akamir mumbled, adjusting the egg more securely. "Sounds like a cat I owned once."
"You're an idiot."
"And you're still following me," Akamir said, glancing sideways at her.
Nayomi scoffed and turned her head, pretending to admire the branches above.
'Now that I observe her....she really dresses provocatively.'
She wore a beautiful black silk front slit dress as the dress caught all her curves perfectly, revealing a bit of her chest.
Akamir quickly averted his gaze as she suddenly glanced at him.
The silence stretched between them once again.
"You know what." Akamir began, looking at the goddess. "I don't want a grumpy roommate all the time. So, let's make a deal."
Nayomi glanced towards him curiously. "What deal?"
"I ask a question. Then you ask a question. If either of us doesn't want to answer, we can stay silent. No whining, no insults. Just silence."
She floated in place for a moment, then descended slightly, her toes just above the forest floor.
"...Alright," she said. "Deal."
"Good." Akamir resumed walking. "Then you can go first."
Nayomi floated in front of him.
"Are you really Asher?" She asked. "And don't lie. I know how pathetic and cowardly Asher really is."
Akamir let out a sigh.
In the end, she did know him and he had no idea how.
"I'm Akamir." He replied, looking at her face. "For some reason, I possess Asher's body."
She just nodded, falling deep in thought.
"Alright, my turn." Akamir said, clapping to get her attention. "How do you know Asher?"
Nayomi hesitated before she let out a sigh.
"He was a character from a novel." She replied, her voice soft. "He was featured in a game as well."
"..."
Akamir nodded softly, noticing a faint disgust in her eyes.
'Looks like she knows a lot about me.'
"My turn again." Nayomi said, moving back to float beside him. "...Are you from Earth?"
"What's Earth?" Akamir asked, tilting his head in confusion. "Is that a place?"
Nayomi silently looked at him with her mouth agape.
Akamir got even more confused as she turned silent again.
"Where are you from?" He asked, looking at her. "Earth?"
"...Yes." She replied softly. "From a place called Japan."
"...I see." Akamir mumbled, effortlessly passing through a broken tree. "So you were Japanish?"
"Japanese. Yeah." She mumbled then shook her head. "My father was from Britain, so I was half Japanese."
"I see." Akamir mumbled, glancing at her. "Your turn to ask."
Nayomi took her time to think about it before she looked at him.
"How do you plan to deal with the prince?" She asked, staring into his eyes.
"I will kill him of course." Akamir shrugged. "He knows too much."
"You think it's possible?"
"With the army of deformed monsters?" Akamir asked, smiling at her. "Yeah. I do."
Nayomi didn't smile back. Instead, her brows furrowed as she stared hard at him.
"My turn." Akamir said, glancing at the sky as the sun was already gone. "What are those things...those Mimickers?"
Nayomi took her time to think of the correct words before speaking.
"They were faeries once, living in the spirit realm." She said softly. "But something happened and they turned into... Mimickers."
'So, she isn't going to tell me "what" happened?'
Akamir mused as he saw the walls of the town visible from his place.
"My turn." Nayomi said, looking at him. "Have you already met Zaina?"
"Who is Zaina?" Akamir asked tilting his head.
Nayomi gave him a deadpan look. "Your fiancée."
"Oh, no. I haven't." Akamir replied, shaking his head. "Is she important?"
"She was the main heroine of the novel." Nayomi replied, stopping along with him.
"So who was I?" Akamir asked, stretching his body to jump over the wall. "Her prince charming?"
Nayomi looked down at him.
"Asher raped her in the novel." She said, freezing in place. "Just for his little revenge."
Nayomi floated on the other side of the wall and Akamir followed behind.
"Wait, what do you mean?" Akamir asked, landing beside her. "Why would I—?"
"My turn." Nayomi interrupted, looking at the walls. "Why did you let the monsters inside the town?"
Akamir paused, blinking in her direction.

"I didn't do anything like that?" He frowned. "In the first place, how do you even let them in?"
"By tampering with the statue on the walls." She replied, staring at the statue of goddess Morana. "Or by destroying the holy wards beneath the church."
"...Are the statues destroyed?"
"No."
'Then that means.....'
Akamir grimly turned his head towards the church.
'...Priest Elore.'
Even from the start, Akamir had some doubts about him.
Not just him but the entire church.
'And by the looks of it... Nayomi here isn't very fond of Morana.'
Akamir thought, glancing at Nayomi who was still staring at the statue.
'Anyway, maybe I should check out the church tonight.'
Akamir sighed as he began to walk towards his house.
There wasn't anyone on the street, still fearing the monsters would come out at night.
'Well, I'm pretty sure they aren't going to harm anyone.'
Unless he himself orders them.
"Nayomi." Akamir said, glancing at the woman beside him. "For the trial...why did you choose me?"
'Wasn't she going to steal my body?'
Akamir couldn't understand why he was chosen.
If she wanted to take over someone, wouldn't it be better to find a girl?
For the first time, Nayomi made an awkward expression.
"I...thought you were a girl." She replied, averting her gaze. "And you do look like a girl."
"..."
Akamir felt a huge blow to his ego.
'...I should definitely get some muscle on me.'
One more goal was added to his list.
As soon as he reached the house, he glanced at Nayomi.
As if noticing his dilemma, she replied. "No one can see me except you."
Akamir sighed and opened the door.
"You are back!"
The moment he walked inside, Zia's sweet voice echoed.
She quickly walked towards him.
"Can you make me something to drink?" Akamir said, looking at his maid.
"Of course." She replied, bowing gracefully before leaving.
"What a bitch."
Nayomi grumbled as soon as she walked away.
"Huh?" Akamir looked up at the floating goddess. "Why the hate?"
She glanced at him. "You sure are stupid."
He frowned. "Why?"
She moved closer, floating right in front of his face.
"Since the first day you arrived in the forest,"
Nayomi said, pointing at where Zia vanished.
"That woman is following you."
