Chapter 46: Shift to the city -III

Off she did go.

She was later told as she walked to the front of the house that Salvatore had left already but she was supposed to be driven by Julian to his apartment.

And into the car ride while they entered the city Julian told her that his housekeeper, Carmella will be helping Evelyn to settle inside the house and in the guest room. She would also be informing Evelyn about how the things went around in the house. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Her leg bounced up and down as she waited anxiously to reach the penthouse. Somehow she felt that she was more anxious about going to Salvatore’s apartment than what she felt when she first entered the house of Angelo.

Julian parked the car and opened her door. Ever noticed two other guys who opened the trunk of the car and started to pull out her luggage.

He nodded towards her and led her into the building. Julian stopped at the reception, "Milla, this is Evelyn Bianchi and she is residing with Don alessandro."

The receptionist nodded and no more words were spoken. They then made a beeline for the lift.

Everyone knew who held the power in an organisation and everyone was aware of Don Alessandro living in the building which only needed the building untouchable.

And now so has she now. She practically had unrestricted access to the building making her enter and exit anytime she wanted because she was going to live with him.

That kind of made Evelyn realise that everyone would know that because it would spread more quickly than a wild forest fire.

The lift stopped but the doors did not open making Evelyn turn to Julian in question.

Julian answered, "the doors open directly to the apartment which is why you have to enter a password. Here is yours." He pulled out a card from his pocket and handed it to her before stepping back and just trying to unlock it.

Evelyn hesitantly stepped forward and feeded the code inside. Once the code was feeded, she clicked at the green button and within seconds the lift opened.

"Ma’am, kindly remember that if the code is wrong it will trigger the alarm and you will be surrounded by weaponry and there will be a chance that you might be shot dead even before the lift is opened." He warned. " So make sure that whenever you enter the password, it is correct."

She understood the threat lingering in the air and nodded. Julian then gestured to the entrance and she entered the house.

She entered the house and her eyes went from the floor to the roof and left. The penthouse looks straight out of a magazine. Everything being beautiful, well coordinated and dare she say, aesthetical.

As she exited the list on the right side of her was a large living room. It could feel like a whole party and it was very spacious. Ahead of it was the dining table and the dining table faced a huge glass wall to its side so one could overlook the entire City if they wanted. On her left was a small hallway and most of this place was taken by a staircase connected by the wall and one railing.

The staircase could easily take three people walking on it at once.

"Ma’am your room upstairs. It would be right adjacent to sir," Julian informed her and then pointed to the hallway, "there are two guest rooms below one is for the staff that stays here and the other is for the guests."

"And I am not staying there?" Evelyn wondered out loud. After all she was just a guest.

"No, ma’am," Julian answered. "You will be staying upstairs adjacent in the room to the don. Your bags have been placed in your room. If you want, you can ask the staff to place your clothes."

Evelyn shook her head, "I did that. Just show me where my room is, Julian."

Julian let her climb the stairs first and followed behind her. There are three doors, two on one side and one alone on the other. Evelyn was given the first one out of the two.

The old room that she was given in the mansion belonging to Salvatore’s father was something one could say was old money. This one belonged in the modern world.

The bed was right in front of the door on the other side of it was a closet and there was one of the doors that Evelyn is used to was the bathroom.

The room was beautiful nonetheless. The colours cream and grey dominated the entire room. It gave the entire room a soft vibe and she loved it. She spotted her bags beside the door and nodded at Julian who left closing the door.

She sighed as she looked at the place. This is going to be her new home for a month or two, she hoped.

Evelyn was not sure how long she could go on for.

Spending the majority of her time placing everything everywhere she made sure that her closet was well utilised and kept her bags away. The bathroom was filled with stuff that was only necessary for 2-3 months and then she was grateful for the small desk in the room.

"Ma’am?" The maid that everyone had not made until now knocked on the door.

"Come in," said Evelyn from where she was sitting. She was on the floor pushing her last bag inside the closet.

A woman entered probably around her own age and smiled at Evelyn, "The dinner is ready madam."

Dinner? Her smile faltered as her eyes went to the clock in the room. "Dinner? But it’s only 6:30?" There was no way that Salvatore could have dinner that early. Not that she was judging but 6:30 was way too early. It was time for supper.

"Oh," the smile on the maid’s face vanished, "that is okay if you wish to eat earlier. I shall inform the don—"

"No! No!" Evelyn shrieked and stood up. "I am coming. Just give me 5 minutes, I will wash my hands and come." Evelyn said as she scrambled away to the bathroom.
