The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 384 - 383: I’m Clean, Not a Rotten Cucumber Like You
Clay Yates glanced at Jenna Shaw’s expression, then gulped and declined, "Thank you, Ma’am, but I have some things to take care of at home. Maybe another time."
Naomi Kenway was about to stand up and see him out when the butler rushed in. He looked at Naomi Kenway and said, "Ma’am, the eldest young master of the Ford Family is here for a visit."
He then glanced at Jenna Shaw. "Should I let him in?"
Naomi Kenway looked to Jenna Shaw, asking for her opinion.
Jenna Shaw thought for a moment. "Since he’s here, let him in. I don’t know what he’s here for, but there are some things that need to be cleared up."
Naomi Kenway gave him a look, and the butler nodded in understanding. "Very good, Ma’am."
Clay Yates had been about to leave, but when he heard Walter Ford was coming, he sat back down on the sofa.
Jenna Shaw paid him no mind.
A few minutes later, Walter Ford strode in. When he saw Naomi Kenway, the anger on his face gave way to a hint of humility. He nodded slightly. "Sister-in-law."
"Don’t call me ’sister-in-law.’ Now that the engagement is off, it’s best we keep our distance." Naomi Kenway’s expression was frigid as she sat on the sofa, coldly sizing up Walter Ford. "What do you want?"
Walter Ford opened his mouth to speak, then hesitated. Suddenly, his eyes narrowed. "Clay Yates, what are you doing here?"
"I’m visiting."
Walter Ford figured the Shaw and Yates families might have their own connections, so he didn’t press the issue.
"I don’t agree to calling off the engagement." He looked at Jenna Shaw. "I know you’re just angry. A decision made in the heat of the moment like this can’t be taken seriously."
Jenna Shaw slowly walked over to stand face-to-face with him. She noticed Walter Ford’s face was slightly pale, and his long-sleeved clothes couldn’t completely hide the faint outlines of wounds underneath.
She tilted her head up, meeting Walter Ford’s gaze. "Why are you here? Those injuries... must be from your family’s discipline, right?" ’Jenna was surprised by how calm she sounded. So, she did have a limit. The love she once had for Walter had completely recoiled upon learning of the disgusting things he’d done, transforming into revulsion.’
"What is it? Couldn’t take the pressure from your family? Or did your father give you a new assignment? Last time, your job was to get close to me and win my favor. What is it this time? To complete your family’s mission of a marriage alliance?"
"That’s not it..." Walter Ford shot back. He took a deep breath. "Jenna Shaw, I don’t want to argue with you. Just take back what you said." As if remembering something, he added, "If you’re worried about Crystal Bishop, I’ve already thrown her out of the company. She and I will have nothing to do with each other from now on."
"She’s pregnant with your child. You have the heart to throw her out?"
Hearing this, Clay Yates couldn’t hold back any longer. "Walter Ford, you’re a real piece of shit! How could you do this to Jenna!"
For a moment, Walter Ford just stared at Jenna Shaw, stunned. A flicker of panic crossed his face. "Did that crazy woman, Crystal Bishop, tell you that? She already got rid of the baby. I didn’t do a DNA comparison, but I don’t think that kid was mine anyway. How could a woman who comes running at the crook of a finger possibly save herself for me?"
Hearing this, Jenna Shaw stared at him in utter disbelief. She instinctively took a step back.
His words revealed the man’s true face—hypocritical and cruel. He had once doted on Crystal Bishop in every way, but now he spoke of her with nothing but cheap contempt.
’I can’t believe the person I once liked was actually a demon in human skin,’ Jenna Shaw thought, lowering her gaze.
Walter Ford frowned slightly, not expecting such a reaction from Jenna. He grabbed her arm. "Did you hear me? I know what I said last time was out of line. I... I can apologize. If you really hate it that much..." He spoke as if making a monumental decision. "I’ll stop going out fooling around with them."
"That’s your business. It has nothing to do with me, so do whatever you want. I will not get back together with you. I don’t believe a single word you say. You treated Crystal Bishop so well, but in the end, you just saw her as a pet. So what does that make me? A convenient tool, I suppose? Walter Ford, I don’t believe a word that comes out of your mouth. Your hypocrisy is nauseating!"
Jenna Shaw snapped impatiently, "Let go of me! We’re over!"
Walter Ford never imagined that humbling himself to win her over would lead to this. His grip tightened, the knuckles of the hand digging into Jenna’s shoulder turning white. He panted slightly, the movement aggravating his injuries. "Do you have any idea what you’re saying?"
"Of course I know what I’m saying! As for all the kindness I showed you in the past, I’ll just consider it charity I gave to a stray dog!"
Walter Ford’s eyes grew bloodshot. "Jenna Shaw!!"
Jenna winced at the pain in her shoulder and scowled. "Let me go, you psycho."
"Didn’t you hear her? She told you to let go! You’re hurting her!" Clay Yates surged forward, pushed Walter Ford away, and shielded Jenna Shaw behind him.
Walter Ford bent over and coughed up a mouthful of blood. He wiped it away hastily and glared at Clay Yates. "What the hell do you think you’re doing?! This is between the two of us! What’s it got to do with you?!"
"It didn’t before, but it does now." Clay Yates gently put his arm around Jenna’s shoulders. "I’m her... suitor."
"What..." Walter Ford’s eyes widened in fury as he muttered in disbelief.
He suddenly recalled the strange things Clay Yates had said before. ’So there were signs all along.’ Then he saw Jenna letting Clay hold her so obediently, and he couldn’t restrain himself. He threw a punch. "Clay Yates, you son of a bitch! You’re trying to steal my girl!!!"
Worried about protecting Jenna, Clay didn’t dodge the punch. He hit the floor, then shot back up, grabbed Walter Ford by the collar, and landed a punch of his own. "You never deserved her! You made her cry so many times! You have no right to be with her, you bastard!"
Blood trickled from the corner of Walter Ford’s mouth as the two of them continued to grapple. "If I don’t deserve her, you think you do?"
"Why wouldn’t I? I’m clean, not a goddamn sleazebag like you!"
"Clay Yates!" Walter Ford roared. "Did you ever even consider me your brother?!"
"What about you? How did you treat me like a brother? You sent people to install a pinhole camera in my office! You used those despicable tactics to win that contract! Someone like you doesn’t deserve to be loved by anyone! You’re selfish, you only love yourself, and you don’t deserve Jenna!!"
Their fight grew more intense, and it wasn’t long before Walter Ford was on the losing end. He was never as good a fighter as Clay Yates to begin with, and every move he made tore at his existing injuries.
Walter Ford lay flat on his back, gasping for breath. Blood seeped through his white shirt. He stared at Jenna Shaw, his gaze a mixture of emotions, as if wrestling with some internal conflict.
Clay Yates was about to land another punch, but Jenna stopped him. "I don’t want you ending up in a police station because of him."
