CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 273: Infernal Ram
"And... It is done."
The black cat’s deep voice echoed. Within the Dark Grimoire, three separate floors materialized. It was called ’Floor’ but each of them operated like a separate area.
"You haven’t entered the Grimoire for a while. Want to check your new workplace?"
"Workplace?" Crow was confused but he nodded anyway. He jumped inside the Dark Grimoire.
Back then, when he was inside the page, the space would be utter darkness. An average human would’ve gone crazy.
Now, the space was a vast wood with no colors. There was only black and white. Black of the trees, the ground, and the endless sky. The only white was the moon and its moonlight.
Spread across this space was an Octagram imprinted on the ground. It was the mark of Mater’s ownership over the place.
Crow couldn’t help but feel at awe from what he was seeing. He admired his master. The Submission Seal designed him to be so.
But this was coming from himself.
"You’re a god, Master." Crow said.
A pair of golden eyes appeared in the sky. The sound of Mater’s chuckles echoed.
"I’m flattered, Crow. But I’m very far from being any type of god. This will be your domain. And this mark is my approval of you.
From now on, you are the Dark Warden of the Neverending Wood."
From the sky, a symbol floated down. It had the same design as Crow’s Abyssal Seal.
The mark landed on Crow’s hand and granted him a portion of this space’s authority.
"I am curious, Master. What is this for? The entire place? The Prison and its scenery." Crow said.
"It’s for your upcoming allies, of course. And also for those that I want to capture."
Crow nodded. He floated into the sky and jumped inside the moon, the exit of this floor.
The Abomination jumped out of the Dark Grimoire.
"It’s a magnificent place, Master. Almost as real as reality."
"You should get used to it. You are its Warden."
Once Mater completed the spell, he and Crow went deeper underground. They still had Void Gates to seal.
Out of all the Rank-1 Spells, Mater really enjoyed Water Clones. However, it had too many limitations and the clones couldn’t use Rank-2 spells either. Mater hoped that he could grant enough Emotion Gemstones to advance it to Rank-2 and possibly remove its limitations.
There were a lot more revenants underground than there were wraiths. The entire cave system must be infested with revenants. Some were recent residents that got turned, a few belonged to decades old corpses that rose back from the dead.
The revenants beneath the ground were much higher level than above ground. The weakest one was at least level 7.
The black cat punctured a line of revenants with its Nether Beam and collected their Chaos. Revenants held much more Chaos than wraiths so Mater didn’t turn them into Gemstones.
Crow slashed through the horde of revenants with his trusty Nether Spear while riding on the back of his Shadow Spider.
"These revenants act differently, Master." Crow frowned.
He slashed open the defense line of the revenants and immediately more rushed forward. It’s as if they were having a battle formation.
"You’re not wrong, Crow. These revenants are more intelligent..." The black cat summoned the Hellfire circle. The circle pulled in a bunch of revenants and burned them off.
Hellfire seemed especially effective against these revenants as it burned both their body and corrupted souls.
"Hmm... I still have three Rank-2 Spell Slots left."
Mater gained an additional 4 when he created the Key of Thirst. One of them was used for Prison Within The Pages.
The black cat used Water Clones and summoned two identical black cats. He assigned each of them a lot of Chaos and the spells Hellfire’s Sealed Pit and Elemental Shield.
"Go. Assist my servant."
The two black cats rushed over to Crow. They didn’t have Omnimotion so they couldn’t fly.
Crow, his spiders and the two cats were enough to hold the revenant hordes at bay. Mater floated lazily in the air, flipping his Dark Grimoire.
’Which other Rank-2 spells should I inscribe?’
Currently Mater had Nether Beam, Octagram Chaos Eyes, Omnimotion, Layered Force Dome, Mimicry Mask, and Prison Within The Pages.
He was thinking of adding more fire power to his Rank-2 arsenal. Most of his Rank-2 Spells were utility. The only attacking spell was Nether Beam.
’Infernal Burst is a Rank-2 Hellfire spell that would hurt anything around me, both enemy or ally. Infernal Breath is also a good one, very similar to Nether Beam but with much less range. There is that Hellfire Ram thingy that has pretty good control and good range also...’
The black cat’s claw extended as it inscribed onto the page. As a new Rank-2 spell, the process of creating it was much more demanding than upgrading a Rank-1 spell.
When Mater started, an illusion collapsed onto the battlefield. For once, Crow saw what the hell of fire actually was.
A desolated wasteland with lava pouring on the ground and the air as scorched as needles when you breathed in.
At Mater’s location, a red fiery ram scraped the ground. It was smaller than the whale from last time. Its skin was lava and it breathed out Hellfire.
The illusion quickly dissipated and a new spell had formed within the page. It had a painting of a red ram.
[Infernal Ram]
[Rank]: 2
[Effect]: You may conjure a demonic ram filled with Hellfire. The ram shall crush everything in a 50-meter straight line. It is immune to all disabling effects. The ram disappears once it reaches 50-meter or when you deactivate it.
[Cost]: 500 Chaos Points 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Would you look at that? A proper Rank-2 Spell with high cost. Well, it’s not as high as its original 5,000 Chaos Point cost though." The black cat grinned widely.
He pondered why most of his Rank-2 Spells had very small or no cost at all.
"Move, Crow."
The Abomination nodded his head. He and the clones jumped onto the Shadow Spider. The spider shot out a purple web and pulled them out of there.
As soon as the path was clear, Mater channeled his Chaos. A giant fiery ram of hellfire appeared.
