"Ice Lance!"

—BAMM!—

—ARGHHH!—

Without hesitation, Lynn cast her mystic spell, bombarding their pursuers with hundreds of fist-sized ice blocks, knocking them out before they could even defend themselves.

"Do you really have to do that? We could've just outrun them or lost them in the forest," Arezu said, feeling guilty upon hearing the painful screams of a dozen human adventurers and a few demi-human beastkin.

"Hmph!—It's not like I injured them beyond recovery, Mr. Arezu."

This was troublesome, Arezu thought, seeing Lynn's soaring mood and growing tantrum as she pouted and looked away from him.

It had been a week since they left the Beastkin Nation and traveled through the forest toward Aiden Town.

The stress of camping every night, running low on her pudding and cake, fighting monsters along the way, and the increasing number of pursuers as they neared Aiden Town—all of it was bringing Lynn closer to her limit, and Arezu feared she might actually end up injuring their next pursuers beyond recovery.

And as if he had just jinxed them, another group of pursuers found them—even though they had already run far from the scene of their previous battle.

"Lynn!"

Arezu called out, telling her he would carry her to run faster and asking her to cast her divine blessing to protect them.

"Barrier!"

While he held her in a bridal carry, Lynn cast her divine blessing to create a protective barrier, realizing they wouldn't be able to escape the range of attack from their first pursuer even if Arezu ran as fast as he could.

The first pursuer came from the sky. The moment she landed on the ground and smashed both of her armored gauntlets—BOOMMM!—a destructive aura exploded, creating an avalanche of earth, rock, and trees that moved rapidly to swallow and bury them alive.

Lynn's barrier withstood the attack just long enough before breaking, allowing Arezu to escape the avalanche and continue their escape—at least until he could figure out how to apologize to their first pursuer, but especially to the second one.

The second pursuer appeared ahead, blocking their path and wielding a large halberd-axe. She imbued mana into her weapon and activated her combat skill the moment she struck the ground, releasing a destructive aura that obliterated everything in its path, including Lynn and Arezu—if not for another protective barrier Lynn cast with her divine blessing.

Trapped between two angry pursuers, Arezu halted their escape and put Lynn down.

Arezu didn't intend to fight, but rather hoped Lynn would apologize.

Lynn, however, only responded with her usual smug grin.

"They really are trying to kill us, right, Mr. Arezu?"

"Just apologize already, Lynn."

"After the audacity you pulled in the Beastkin Nation, don't you dare think an apology would fix everything!"

The first pursuer, Kurea, finally spoke. Her eyes raged with madness, glowing the same crimson red as her twin-tailed hair.

"See, Mr. Arezu? They are not asking for apologies."

"That's not what Ms. Kurea meant!"

"Lynn wasn't the only one who needs to apologize, you bastard!"

She wasn't angry that Arezu had broken the halberd-axe she had made for him. After all, he had fought a high-level Fire Dragon. What she couldn't accept was the thought of him buying another weapon from a different crafter when she saw a new axe strapped to Arezu's back.

"We have a contract, Lynn—Arezu!"

"Wait! Let us explain—"

"He bought it! Even though I told Mr. Arezu that you'd be mad!"

"Lynn!"

"That's enough! All of you!"

Interrupting the argument and stopping Kurea and Beatrix in their rampage, a third pursuer, Brandon, revealed himself.

"We're not here to capture them, are we?"

Brandon's remark only made Kurea and Beatrix scowl, disappointed that they couldn't let out their anger at Lynn and Arezu.

Regardless, it wasn't like Brandon didn't understand how they felt.

"If you don't at least apologize, then the Annual Caravan won't welcome you back, Ms. Lynn—or Arezu."

Lynn glared daggers at Brandon in response to his demand—or, as she interpreted it, threat—only for Arezu to smack her head with a gentle head pat, trying to calm her down.

"It wouldn't hurt to apologize for us running away," Arezu said—not only because he felt guilty himself, but to give Lynn a reason to apologize, knowing she wouldn't admit fault for everything she did at the Beastkin Nation.

What pleased Lynn, however, was that Arezu was talking about just the two of them.

"Hmph—I'm sorry. Are you all happy now?" Lynn grumbled, pouting as she looked away to hide her blushing face.

But with such a half-baked apology, Kurea and Beatrix wouldn't forgive Lynn easily.

After all, they were the ones who had suffered most because of her audacity against the Beast Lord.

As the stand-in Guild Master of the Eileen Kingdom Capital Adventurers Guild, Kurea had been summoned by the Beast Lord, who demanded she apprehend Lynn, one of her adventurers.

But when she tried to expel Lynn through the Adventurers Guild at the Beastkin Nation, she received a message from her grandfather, the original Guild Master, prohibiting Lynn's banishment.

Whatever favor her grandfather had for Lynn, Kurea had no choice but to apologize personally to the Beast Lord.

"Apologize properly, Lynn!"

Beatrix, on the other hand, had been summoned for a different reason. As Arezu's registered crafter, she had been forced to craft a new halberd-axe for him using the metal claws harvested from the Fire Dragon.

Whatever favor the Beast Lord had for Arezu, Beatrix had to work three days straight under the supervision of the Beast Lord herself just to complete a new halberd-axe.

"You don't even know what we've been through because of you and Arezu!"

Despite the continuous arguments from Kurea and Beatrix, Lynn and Arezu finally rejoined the Annual Caravan on the day they reached the Fortress Town of Aiden at the southern border of the Eileen Kingdom, completing half the expedition of the Annual Caravan.

Announcement:

Hey'a—it's UelUel, your lazy and lousy PoruShark writer.

Thank you for reading—Days of Dungeon: From Simple Quest to Strange Adventure

This is an announcement regarding both good news and bad news.

First, let's start with the bad news.

I will be ending this book with this chapter.

It took more than a month for me to think about it, but I finally came to a decision.

But don't worry, dear readers, for here is the good news.

I will be giving Lynn and Arezu's story another go at WSA 2026.

Yes—It means I will be writing a different version of Days of Dungeon.

The new book will be titled—Beyond World's End

Some events that happen in this book will still happen in the new version; the main difference, though, is that the story will start by revealing Lynn and Arezu's background.

The supporting characters will still be the same, but there will be some changes to their backgrounds as well.

That's all.

Once again, thank you to all the readers who have supported this book until now.

I hope you will continue to support the new book.
