Captive Mate BL-Chapter 507: + - +
Chapter 507: +Chapter 507+
Despite Patty’s evasive response, she stuck around till dinner time. Having her and Rosie at the dinner table was starting to become a common occurrence.
There were blueberry pies for dinner, Patty showing up had resolved the blueberry shortage. Rosie was so happy at the sight of them that Caspian didn’t have the heart to stop her from eating some, even though he had decided that she wouldn’t be getting any more blueberries.
After dinner was over, Rosie turned to her friend, who quietly fit in, content to remain in the background. "We’re going to get some things for my stay, want to tag along?"
"Sure," Patty agreed, rising to her feet. She hadn’t shown any indication that she would be leaving soon, and no one wanted to bring it up, wanting her to stay the night.
Jael was beginning to adjust to this new side of Patty, he hoped she would spend the night, maybe if she was here to distract or dissuade Rosie, he wouldn’t be in danger while he slept.
"Could you guys grab ice cream on your way back?" Caspian rose to his feet only to be pulled onto his husband’s legs. He went easily, letting Asher hold on to him. "We could all watch a movie tonight."
"We will," Rosie was quick to agree, completely onboard with the plan. It was the start of a new week the next day, but when would they get to all hang out like this again?
She snagged Patty’s wrist and pulled her towards the door, the Beta unaware that she had also been included in the plans for ice cream and movies.
Jael followed after them, Rosie and Patty’s company were nice. Usually, he would have been forced to play third wheel by Asher and Caspian, sometimes, he didn’t even get the chance, and would be directly kicked out.
"Do you think they’ll have blueberry-flavored ice cream?" Rosie asked seriously as they made their way out.
Patty shot her a look, "Caspian isn’t going to let you have that."
"Caspian is the sweetest," Rosie countered confidently, "He’ll definitely let me."
Patty didn’t try to dissuade her further, knowing that Rosie’s mind was set. "I told you, too many blueberries will turn you blue." She reminded ominously.
Rosie waved away her warnings, blatantly ignoring it. "I really hope they have blueberry flavor, I’ll buy extra so I can have some tomorrow."
Jael wisely stayed out of the conversation, stepping out of the mansion after them.
Patty was the first to get to the car, she opened the door and got in, and when Rosie tried to get in after her, she shooed the other away. "Stay in front, I want to lie down."
Rosie’s pale eyes were full of betrayal, but she went around to the passenger seat, looking over the headrest at Patty, who, true to her words, had gotten comfortable in the back seat.
Jael made sure to keep a straight face when he got in the car, he wouldn’t put it past Rosie to try and lie down too, and knowing her, she would put her feet right on him.
"I wouldn’t have minded if you rested your head on my legs," Rosie kept protesting, a pout on her full lips, sad eyes peering down at Patty.
She had wanted to keep talking about blueberries, and now she wouldn’t get to be as engaged as she wanted to be because of the distance between them.
Patty knew that Rosie wanted to keep talking about blueberries, and that was why she chased her off. Usually, she rode shotgun, so her willingness to join her in the back seat was a red flag.
Besides, Rosie’s luggage would go in the backseat with her, so she didn’t give in to her friend’s wheedling, pretending to fall asleep.
With her first victim playing dead, Rosie turned to Jael with glimmering eyes. "Have you tried blueberry ice cream before?"
Jael was just driving away from the mansion, he glanced over at Rosie. "If you say the word ’blueberry’ again, I’m dropping you off."
Rosie sulked, her round cheeks puffing out. "How are you going to get my things then?"
"Patty is here," Jael reminded.
Patty spoke up then, waking up from her brief ’sleep’. "I’ve got her spare keys."
Rosie gaped, she couldn’t believe they were both teaming up against her. She crossed her arms and turned towards the window, grumbling under her breath about how she was trapped in a car with blueberry haters.
Rosie and Patty went into the apartment to get the necessary things while Jael stayed in the car. He didn’t stay still for long, getting out of the car to do a sweep of her property.
It was purely out of habit and nothing else, he wasn’t exactly expecting to find anyone. So he was completely caught off guard when he saw a most unexpected scene.
There was a Peeping Tom ...
Because the binoculars he held up to his eyes couldn’t possibly be because he was birdwatching, at night, with the binoculars pointed directly at Rosie’s house.
The landscaping lights provided some illumination, so he could make out the pervert. He was dressed in an expensive three-piece suit, like he had come here straight from his company, and considering the circles Rosie went around in, he wouldn’t be too surprised if that was the case. freёnovelkiss.com
He quietly made his way over and crouched right next to the Peeping Tom, a gun in hand like it was a pair of binoculars, and he wanted to join the other. "What are we looking at?" He asked casually, making his presence known.
The Alpha fell back with a choked scream, the binoculars falling out of his hands to the ground with a clatter. "Who-Who are..."
"Too loud," Jael muttered with a scowl, shooting the intruder point-blank. He didn’t want Rosie to know there was someone stalking her, and even more than that, he didn’t want either of them to know about the dead man on the lawn.
He snagged his ankle and effortlessly dragged him completely off Rosie’s property. Fortunately, there was a stack of trash bins down the street. He stuffed the suited Alpha in and tossed his binoculars in with his cooling body.
If some rando could easily get so close to Rosie, it meant that trained killers could literally just walk in. He would give Davian an earful about the lack of protection, and even then, he would still have some people keep an eye on her apartment.
