Captive Mate BL-Chapter 506: + - +
Chapter 506: +Chapter 506+
Caspian stopped by Asher’s office before heading to the kitchen, he poked his head in with a smile. "So the movie is postponed?"
He had come to tell his mate that he had something to do, but Asher had beaten him to it.
"I’ll come home early tomorrow," Asher was quick to promise, his attention on Caspian.
"Deal," Caspian’s smile widened, "Want some blueberries?"
"Yeah sure," Blueberries were certainly a healthier option than whiskey.
Caspian left as quickly as he came, heading right to the kitchen. Rosie saw him as soon as he saw her, the red-headed Omega shooting him a smile as she gratefully took another bowl of blueberries from a kitchen staff.
"How many bowls of berries is that?" He asked with narrowed eyes as he approached her.
Rosie hastily got up and backed away, stuffing her cheeks with berries like a hamster.
Caspian instinctively followed after her as she scurried around the island, slowing to a stop when she dashed out the door with her precious bowl of blueberries.
He turned to Katya, who had paused to watch them with a smile on her face. "Are there any blueberries left?"
"There are but there’ll be none left for pie at dinner," The chef reported.
Caspian made a mental note to remind Patty to order extra fruits when she came in the next day, at least for the period Rosie would be staying over. "The other option was lemon meringue. Why don’t we go with that instead?"
Katya was quick to agree, heading off to inform the necessary people of the new changes.
Caspian went off to the fridge, if he didn’t get some blueberries to his mate and Jael, he had a feeling that Rosie would come for the rest.
He had a maid go give a bowl to Asher, and had Katya hold onto Jael’s share for him, then he went off with a final bowl to search for the runaway Omega.
He found her right outside the kitchen door, she was crouched to the side, forlornly holding an empty bowl like she had been starved of food.
"You didn’t eat all the blueberries," He said with a fond smile, handing her another bowl.
Rosie took the bowl and stared at Caspian like he had a halo on his head. She seriously considered swapping places with Jael. Davian would have kicked her out of the kitchen after her first bowl of fruit.
"Come on, let’s go get you settled in." Caspian gestured to her, leading the way. "You could take a room close to Jael’s," He suggested, knowing better than to offer one close to his.
Rosie shrugged, she didn’t mind where her room was, it was all the same to her. Besides, she wouldn’t be staying for long.
"That’s Jael’s room," Caspian pointed at a door they walked past, you can take the one after his room.
Rosie walked right in and got comfortable on a chair, "Thank you so much," She appreciated, her teeth turning an ominous shade of blue from all the berries she had eaten.
Caspian held back a chuckle, "Did you bring any luggage?"
"No, we came right over from the ’relaxing’ drive Jael took me on." Rosie paused her munching to make air quotes around relaxing. "I can go get some after dinner."
The door opened then to reveal Jael, "Katya said the kitchen’s all out of berries."
Rosie shoved the last handful in her mouth at his words, leaving Caspian to respond.
"She’s just messing with you, I had her hold onto your share." He was quick to diffuse the situation. "How did you know we were here?"
"Followed the scent of blueberries," Jael shot Rosie an accusatory look.
The red-headed head kept a straight face like she hadn’t eaten most of the fruit meant for the pie. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Caspian didn’t hold back his laughter, not sure if Jael was serious or not. "Come with me, I’ll get you your blueberries."
Jael had actually asked a maid who directed him, but he wasn’t going to admit to that. "Why did you give her the room next to mine?" He whispered to Caspian as they made their way down the hallway.
He felt the hairs on his neck rise at that moment, and he whipped around to find Rosie’s pale eyes peeking at him from the doorway.
"I didn’t want her to be lonely, there are so many rooms. I’m sure it would be nice if there was someone nearby."
Jael knew that Caspian meant well, but he didn’t share the Omega’s sentiments. Rosie was too dangerous to be around him while he was asleep, it was like having a menace of an older sister.
If he got on her bad side, there was no guarantee that he wouldn’t wake up the next morning with all of his hair shaved off.
He got his bowl of blueberries, but it didn’t take long for Rosie to make her way over like a cat hearing the rustling of a bag. He let her steal as many as she wanted, hanging out in the kitchen with Rosie and Caspian.
A short while later, the blueberries were all gone, but there was someone new at the door. Patty poked her head into the crowded kitchen like she didn’t work there, coming in with a large shopping bag.
"Rosie told me she would be staying here for the next week or so," She spoke softly as she came in.
"Thinking about staying with her?" Caspian was quick to offer, he had been trying to convince Patty to stay at the mansion to no avail.
"Maybe," Patty murmured vaguely, approaching. She was calmer in Jael’s presence, holding out the bag she brought. "Here’s the blueberries you asked for."
Caspian and Jael turned to look at Rosie, who at least had the decency to look guilty.
"You asked for more blueberries?" Jael asked with concern.
Caspian snagged up the bag before Rosie could reach for it, "No more blueberries for the rest of today," He announced decisively, walking away to deal with the fruits. "Maybe for the rest of the week too," He added under his breath.
Patty slid into one of the chairs on the island, at a loss. "Is something wrong with the blueberries?"
"Yeah, Rosie ate all the berries in the kitchen." Jael gave her out.
Patty’s expression turned concerned, "Be careful, if you eat too many blueberries, you’ll turn blue." She dropped her voice to an ominous whisper at the end.
Rosie was unimpressed, "Do I look like I’m five?" She crossed her arms, "Besides, I wanted to replace the berries I ate."
As she spoke, her eyes drifted in the direction Caspian had gone off in.
Neither Jael nor Patty was convinced, but they graciously accepted her excuse, as long as she wasn’t eating any more blueberries, it would be fine.
