Campione Scumbag in Mash-up Anime-Chapter 111: God-Tier Shikigami
Chapter 111 - God-Tier Shikigami
Faced with a barrage of demanding questions from Nino, Ren merely let out a soft sigh. He had no desire to get into an argument, especially with his sister-in-law who had clearly disliked him from the start.
He was too lazy to answer. Instead, Ren gently stroked Itsuki's head in his embrace.
"Relax... everything's fine. I'm here."
The soft vibration of his voice seemed like a soothing incantation. Itsuki's breathing slowed, her fingers gripping Ren's shirt a little tighter. For a moment, the world felt like it belonged only to the two of them.
Once her emotions subsided, Itsuki realized how intimate her actions were, and in front of her sisters no less. Her cheeks flushed, and she quickly pulled away from Ren's embrace.
To divert attention, Itsuki stared at the floor, where the four men still lay unconscious.
"Hubby... what should we do with them?"
"Leave them to me." Ren replied vaguely, not elaborating on the fate that awaited the four members of the Twin Horn Syndicate.
Itsuki was smart enough to understand his implied meaning. She didn't need to know more than that.
However, Ren's indifference towards her ignited Nino's anger, who had felt ignored since earlier.
"Don't ignore me! Rokuhara, these guys tried to kidnap Itsuki to threaten you, you have to explain everything to us!"
"..."
On the other hand, Miku remained silent near the wall, her gaze calm but full of tension. She waited, giving Ren space to explain the situation—or at the very least, acknowledge their presence, having been dragged into this mess.
"If Nino-san wants to know the details, just ask Itsuki. I have to go deal with the source of this problem so it doesn't happen again in the future."
Ren's words made Nino huff in annoyance, crossing her arms over her chest.
"There are no secrets among family. So Itsuki, you'll explain everything later."
Miku, who had been silent all along, finally spoke up. "I want to know too... Ren-kun is too mysterious."
"..."
Itsuki glanced at Ren for a moment with a pout because he was passing the buck to her, before puffing out her cheeks like a sulking child.
An eight-month pregnant woman acting spoiled should look troublesome... But to Ren, it was incredibly cute.
"Before I go, let's leave some guards to prevent and protect you."
Through the Divine Authorities Book of Knowledge, Ren used onmyōdō instead of western magic like before.
Circles of energy began to form on the floor—not western style with ancient European symbols, but Japanese-style spiritual formations with kanji, yin-yang, and Shinto seal patterns.
"Spiritual Invitation Jutsu."
This technique was capable of powerfully summoning spiritual beings. If Tsuchimikado Yakou was considered the strongest contemporary onmyōji, then Abe no Seimei was the greatest onmyōji throughout history.
And now, Ren was summoning shikigami that had once been contracted by Abe no Seimei himself!
All of this was possible thanks to the Omniscient Codex ability that was part of the Divine Authorities Book of Wisdom's capabilities.
*BZZ!*
Golden white light enveloped the air. From the magic circles, two magnificent figures slowly emerged.
"Amaterasu Wakemitama: Zenki."
The figure that appeared first was draped in a pure white sacred robe that flowed luxuriously, sweeping the floor. Gold embroidery patterns and cherry blossom designs spread subtly across the fabric's surface. On its chest hung a sun-shaped emblem, radiating a holy light like the morning sun.
Its large, flat-topped circular hat had a radiant glow above it, confirming that this was a sacred manifestation of power, the Japanese Sun Goddess, Amaterasu.
Its face was covered by a spiritual veil, revealing only a gaze full of dignity and peace.
"Tsukiyomi Wakemitama: Goki."
The second figure appeared with a cold and serene aura, wearing an elegant black-blue robe with patterns of night clouds and crescent moons. In the center of its chest was a moon emblem that seemed to emit a dim yet sharp light, like the light of a full moon on a starless night.
Its black hat towered high with a sharper and more contrasting design compared to Zenki. Its eyes were partially covered by a silver mask that looked like a fragment of the moon.
The appearance of the two shikigami left the three women in the room dumbfounded.
Nino and Miku, who were experiencing the supernatural for the first time, completely froze in place. Their eyes widened, their breaths caught in their throats, their bodies trembled as they realized they were standing before something that couldn't be explained by modern logic.
Even Itsuki, who already knew that her boyfriend was a Campione, had only seen a small fraction of his true power. But this was a different level. The aura from Zenki and Goki was so impressive and captivating to those who saw it.
"So scary..."
Most afraid of ghosts and supernatural things, Miku was deathly pale and her body began to sway. Her breaths were short, her hand covered her mouth, and she would have almost fallen if Nino hadn't supported her immediately.
Although trying to appear strong, Nino couldn't hide the tremor in her voice as she opened her mouth.
"W-Who are they...?"
Ren looked at the three of them with a gentle smile as if the oppressive aura from the two shikigami behind him had no effect on him at all.
"Don't worry. They're not enemies. They are shikigami belonging to Abe no Seimei."
"Abe no Seimei? That legendary onmyōji?"
Miku's voice now sounded different—a mixture of fear and fascination. She did indeed have deep historical knowledge among the Nakano quintuplets, and that name was a legend in the Japanese spiritual world.
Looking at Miku with appreciation, Ren nodded slightly.
"That's right. Goki and Zenki are god-tier shikigami. Even stronger than Seimei's famous Twelve Divine Generals. So, you can feel safe. As long as they are guarding, no one will be able to harm you."
"..."
Nino bit her lower lip, staring at Ren wordlessly.
Her feelings were chaotic. All this time, she had harbored dislike for her brother-in-law because of Ren's playboy nature.
However, after witnessing the power of the extraordinary realm that Ren had displayed, her dislike slowly faded, replaced by another emotion that was difficult to express.
"Zenki, Goki. Protect them even if it costs you your lives. Understand?"
The two shikigami nodded in unison at Ren's stern command, then their bodies instantly vanished in a swirl of spiritual energy, disappearing from sight.
Zenki and Goki traversed every corner of the apartment building, hunting and exterminating evil spirits and invisible ghosts, neutralizing even the smallest threats that could touch the women their new master had just entrusted to them.
'Magic and Onmyodo aren't as strong as Divine Authorities in terms of destructive power effectiveness. However, their flexibility is very convenient to use. Perhaps the Book of Wisdom will be the Divine Authority I use the most compared to the others.'
Looking at the four men lying helplessly. With ease, Ren grabbed their collars one by one, dragging them like worthless sacks of trash.
*SSST!*
The sound of bodies scraping on the floor sounded pathetic, but there wasn't the slightest hint of sympathy in his gaze.
As he walked towards the exit, Itsuki's gentle voice called out, "Hubby, be careful. Don't get hurt..."
Ren's steps paused briefly. He glanced back, looking into the eyes of the woman carrying his child, and nodded softly.
"Don't worry. Not to sound arrogant, but only a few individuals can harm me."
Then Miku, who had calmed down a little, although her face was still pale, added in a soft voice, "Don't push yourself, okay? Anyway, please come back safely."
Ren managed a small smile, but before he could answer, Nino's voice followed in her characteristic tsundere style.
"Tch... Don't do anything dangerous or stupid. I don't want Itsuki to become a widow at a young age because her husband is reckless!"
Casually, Ren opened the door.
"I'll be back soon."
Then, he stepped out of the apartment, dragging the four men's bodies into the silent night, leaving behind three women who were silently beginning to worry about him more deeply than they realized.
