Campione Scumbag in Mash-up Anime-Chapter 112: Crushing the Twin Horn Syndicate
Chapter 112 - Crushing the Twin Horn Syndicate
The Twin Horn Syndicate's Headquarters was not a towering modern building like most other criminal organization hubs. Instead, it was a sprawling traditional Japanese house, with architecture mimicking the ancient Heian era style. Everything was designed to give the impression of a peaceful old shrine, not the base of one of Japan's most dangerous criminal Onmyoji syndicates.
The moonlight that occasionally pierced through the gaps in the clouds only added to the eerie atmosphere, as if nature itself foresaw the coming storm.
It was at that moment that a figure, one no one expected, suddenly appeared in front of the main gate.
The figure was none other than Rokuhara Ren.
With the Divine Authorities Book of Knowledge in his possession—except for the future-there was nothing he did not know. This ability allowed him to access all the knowledge in the world, and finding the hidden location of the Twin Horn Syndicate headquarters was just a trivial matter for him.
"Let's give them a grand welcome."
After saying that, Ren raised his right foot and kicked with inhuman strength.
*BOOM!*
The antique door shattered into pieces, its fragments scattering into the courtyard in a thick cloud of dust. The sound of the explosion echoed, breaking the silence of the night and waking the inhabitants of the headquarters.
From behind the veil of dust, Ren's figure slowly emerged, his steps leisurely yet radiating an aura that made the air feel heavy.
"Intruder!"
"Only one person? Kill him!"
They were a team of about seven Onmyoji tasked with guarding the entrance.
"Get lost!" Ren said indifferently.
Before they had a chance to launch any attacks, Ren's figure disappeared from their sight—moving at a speed impossible for ordinary human eyes to catch. In the blink of an eye, he was already among them, spinning and striking with a deadly combination of punches and kicks.
*BAM!* *BAM!* *BAM!* *BAM!*
One by one, the seven Onmyoji were thrown into the air like dry leaves caught in a storm, their bodies landing with sickening thuds. How could they withstand the physical strength of an extraordinary Campione?
*THUD!*
Their necks were twisted at unnatural angles, their eyes frozen in expressions of horror. In a matter of seconds, their lives had been taken.
"What the hell?!"
A dozen Onmyoji who rushed out of the house saw this scene in disbelief.
The Onmyōji of the Twin Horn Syndicate were extraordinary beings who had survived several spell battles and whose hands were stained with blood, and could directly face thermal weapons. How could these seven onmyōji be defeated in the blink of an eye by a high school student?
Were high school students these days so terrifying?
What level of power did he possess?
How fast was he?
"Everyone prepare to fight!" Ordered a senior Onmyoji.
Soon after, they gathered together, then scattered in all directions, in three layers inside and three layers outside, surrounding Ren.
The chanting of the Onmyoji holding talismans began to be heard. Glowing symbols began to appear on the floor, forming intricate diagrams surrounding Ren's standing position.
"It wouldn't be fun if I just beat you with brute force, would it? Alright, let me show you the pinnacle of true Onmyodou Art."
With a mocking smile, Ren chanted an incantation in less than two seconds.
"Tales, Facts, Myths, all are stored in my writings, all secrets are gathered in my grasp, nothing can be hidden from my mind."
Divine Authorities Book of Knowledge has been activated!
At the same time, the Onmyoji launched their attacks.
*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*
Waves of fire, lightning, and wind blades bombarded Ren from all directions, creating explosions that shook the courtyard. Dust and smoke enveloped the area, hiding his figure from view.
"Did we get him?"
"Hmph, there's no way that brat would survive our combined attack."
However, as the smoke began to clear, Ren's silhouette reappeared—without the slightest injury. His clothes were tattered, torn in several places, but his body itself was untouched.
"Frogs at the bottom of a well."
Seeing their shock, Ren understood why the Twin Horn Syndicate was so bold as to have the idea of using a Campione as their puppet.
Narrow-minded and unaware of the wider world, the leaders of the Twin Horn Syndicate overestimated themselves and underestimated the Campione.
They probably thought that the Campione's Magic Resistance, which was immune to all mystical arts below the level of gods, was false information.
"If energy attacks don't work, use shikigami!"
Having regained their senses, the onmyōji prepared to summon their respective shikigami.
Unfortunately, Ren had no intention of standing still and waiting for his opponents to complete their attack preparations, as if this were a scene from a Power Ranger or Kamen Rider series.
"Rain Silk: Five Dragons!"
Through the Divine Authorities Book of Knowledge, Ren accesses all the knowledge of the Onmyodou Art of Abe no Seimei, a legendary onmyoji of the Heian era whose abilities are unmatched even by modern practitioners.
*BZZZ!*
In an instant, five gigantic dragons appeared beside him, radiating astonishing violence, each formed from a different element: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
"W-What is this?!"
A feeling of pure terror gripped the souls of the Onmyoji. They, who had always been proud of their strength as followers of Tsuchimikado Yakou, now felt like children facing giants.
"Kill them all." Ren commanded in a calm voice.
"ROAAAARRR!"
The five dragons roared simultaneously, creating a sound wave that shattered several paper windows around the courtyard. At Ren's command, they began to move.
It was then that the massacre began!
The Fire Dragon spewed a sea of flames that incinerated the talismans before they could be activated.
The Water Dragon formed a giant wave that crashed into the ranks of Onmyoji, crushing their bones.
The Wood Dragon grew giant roots that ensnared and crushed.
The Metal Dragon launched sharp blades that cut through anything in their path.
The Earth Dragon shook the ground, creating cracks that swallowed those who tried to escape.
"ARHHH!!!"
The Onmyoji fought desperately. Some tried to summon their shikigami—spirit wolves, firebirds, or even snakes—but these creatures were instantly destroyed in the face of the five-element dragons.
Others launched attack spells, sending lightning, wind, or energy blasts towards Ren, but all were futile against the Magic Resistance of a Campione.
Some tried to flee, but none managed to take more than a few steps before the dragons caught up and ended their lives.
Blood soaked the ground, mixed with the screams of death that echoed in the cloudy night. The once orderly courtyard had turned into a chaotic battlefield, filled with corpses, debris, and the remnants of failed spells. The Onmyoji who were so confident in their superiority were now nothing more than victims of the ferocity of a Campione they had underestimated.
"..."
Ren stood amidst the chaos, his eyes showing not the slightest hint of regret.
"In your next life, be good people."
