Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Fenrir’s turn to be Improved

Once again, the scene played out with Noah conjuring a vivid drop of blood from his palm. Before he could offer it to Fenrir, the giant wolf eagerly enveloped Noah’s hand and part of his forearm with his massive tongue. The gesture, which would have otherwise disgusted Noah, was mitigated by the protective layer of his equipment, sparing him the sensation of Fenrir’s wet coursed tongue.

Noah’s mind raced as the ants closed in. The blood pact was forged, binding him and Fenrir more closely than ever. He knew that to turn the tide of this battle, Fenrir needed an edge, a skill that could compare with Arachne’s newfound skill, amplifying his formidable capabilities, giving him the ability to fight head on with the menacing queen who had yet to make a move.

He glanced at the approaching swarm, then back at Fenrir, his eyes filled with high expectation. "I haven’t used this skill as often, but I don’t consider it my trump card for no good reason. Make me proud boy."

[Fenrir is now bonded through blood pact, skills requiring blood pact are now effective!]

[Fenrir has gained the skill ’Killing Instinct’ that is being shared by the host. During its evolution, Fenrir’s transformation will be influenced by Killing instinct!]

"AAAWWWOOOO!"

Fenrir’s transformation was alarming and awe-inspiring. The ground cracked beneath Fenrir’s feet as he stood on his hind legs, his muscles visibly bulging as though he had taken some powerful drug. To top it off, his pupils dilated until the purple hue was nearly invisible, replaced by a terrifying darkness that was haloed by the faint, eerie glow of purple.

"Ggrrr!"

The skill had turned him into an embodiment of raw, ferocious power, a beast ready to unleash havoc on anything in its path. Noah anticipated a bloodbath and quickly jumped back when the ants were just inches away from them. However, he learned that there wasn’t a need for him to move away at all.

As the four ants advanced, their oversized pincers aimed at Fenrir’s legs, his instinctive response was immediate. With a low growl, Fenrir’s muscles tensed, and his fur bristled in anticipation. The moment the ants made contact, an invisible force seemed to seize their daunting pincers, freezing their biting motions in place. Nothing seemed to happen at first, the ants couldn’t penetrate his body at all, but then almost imperceptibly, Fenrir’s body began to subtly rise off the ground. With their increased size, it enabled them to lift the beast off his feet, even as he resisted.

Fenrir wasn’t going to stand there and let the ants do as they please, not when its only instinct was urging him to kill. With a predatory gleam in his eyes, Fenrir didn’t hesitate. His claws extended to their full length, gleaming wickedly in the sunlight. With a powerful downward thrust, he drove his claws into the ants’ heads, not piercing through but rather tearing through their exoskeletons as if they were made of paper.

The four ants were quickly dealt with. Fenrir’s claws not only tore through their heads, but due to the natural curvature of his paws, he literally ripped their heads off while splitting them at the same time. This level of devastation was possible only because his paws were so massive.

It seemed that when Fenrir was under the effects of the skill, he relied on his ’weapons’ instead of just brute strength. The next wave of ants came, and he resorted back to swiping at the creatures like he habitually did before, but this time he swung with his claws still fully extended with the intentions of tearing through them. His claws slashed through the air, carving deep gashes into the ants’ armored bodies. The combined strength and feroricity of his attacks left a trail of dismembered ants in his wake, showcasing the reason Noah considered ’Killing Instinct’ to be a trump card.

Everything began to happen faster than most could comprehend what was happening. One moment there were ants approaching Fenrir and then the next they were flying away with less of their body then what they had before. And the moment when he began to move to wreak havoc through their ranks, the scene turned to disarray. Noah himself was having a hard time to keep up with Fenrir’s speed when he considered Fenrir to be more of a frontline attacker.

’No no no....’ Noah rubbed his eyes in disbelief when he witnessed what he was seeing. The Fenrir he was seeing now was already more dangerous than the awakened zombie they fought previously. He just couldn’t believe that just the skill he gave him could make him so powerful. He couldn’t shake the nagging feeling of disbelief, but then he remembered the notification after forming the pact. frёewebηovel.cѳm

’That’s right! His stats are being upgraded by my skills and the Killing instinct at the same time! Just what are his stats now?’ Noah thought before hurrying to check in the midst of the battle. There was no way for him to resist the urge not to check, he couldn’t stay sane if he didn’t know how strong he just made his beast that he was treating as a silly dog all this time.

"....." Noah was speechless as he beheld the staggering increase in Fenrir’s stats. Yet, the realization that Fenrir, like Arachne, couldn’t receive a perk despite surpassing the supposed limit mark tempered his initial disappointment. This time, he was mentally prepared, and the disappointment was somewhat less acute.

However, as he watched Fenrir dominating over the "little" big ants, excitement swelled within Noah, prompting a wide grin to spread across his face, his excited gaze rendering him unable to remove his gaze from the scene.

"I’ve created my own little boss monster~!" Noah exclaimed, struggling to contain his delighted laughter.

The increase to his creatures’ stats was immense after their awakening. Noah couldn’t help but wear a creepy smile from the pure bliss of how great his new class was just by obtaining it. All of his personal stats might not reflect what he truly desired, but the strength of his creatures completely made up for it, especially when he thought about the fact that he had yet to even tap into his class’s full potential.

He glanced at Fenrir, who continued to rip through the ants with terrifying efficiency, and felt a surge of pride. The power his wolf now wielded was beyond anything he had imagined, and it made him eager to see how much further they could go.

"This is just the beginning," he whispered to himself, his eyes gleaming with ambition. "We’re only going to get stronger from here."

With Arachne still cocooned, undergoing her transformation, and Fenrir decimating their enemies, Noah felt more confident than ever in their future.

"..."

Meanwhile, on Ailetta’s side, it was eerily quiet, aside from the noise Fenrir was making. It was unusual, considering they should have been fighting too. Witnessing the strange interaction between Noah and Fenrir, which seemed to trigger a change in the wolf, left the students in shock. ’Were we really just trying to save them?’ Many of them wondered.

The group visibly relaxed when they noticed the ants didn’t attempt to fight back after focusing on Noah. However, when Fenrir turned the tables, only Ailetta felt relieved. Everyone else experienced a chilling fear as they struggled to keep up with Fenrir’s speed.

The bloodthirsty state Fenrir was in unnerved the students, who weren’t accustomed to feeling like prey. Unlike the ants, Fenrir had an aura and presence that invoked the terrifying visualization of their own deaths.

"Gu-guys? I think we need to get out of here..." Bailey was the first to speak up, noticing Fenrir’s menacing demeanor. Although not everyone understood her urgency, some in the group had enough common sense to grasp the situation.

"I agree with Bailey," Ailetta chimed in, making her way back towards the others. "Fenrir seems to be under the effect of some kind of skill. I don’t think he would think twice about attacking us if we got in his way." She kept her skill active, unsure when they might be attacked, especially after hearing the yells from the dorm behind them.

"Ah Sam! Som-someone help us alread-argh!"

The students turned around, horrified to see large groups being ravaged by zombies emerging from the dorm. The runner zombies were already a challenge for an average level three human, but the sprinters, strong enough to contend with humans with stats between seven and nine, made survival impossible for those who hadn’t participated in the fights.

Panic set in as the students realized the peril they were in. Those who had avoided the battles until now found themselves ill-prepared to face the oncoming horde.

Determined to prove himself a great leader, Mark was the first to lead the charge to help the students in need, while Noah handled the most troubling foe.

"Well I guess that leaves the big one to me until Fenrir is done...that’s the only downside of the skill, but it’s definitely a fault I can live with. Hmmm, if she’s just going to be so kind and sit there then I’ll take her up on her graciousness, I still have time to power up!" He said with gusto when he mentioned the power up as he couldn’t contain his smile once again. Ever since he’s awakened, it’s been hard for him to contain his excitement. He felt like a kid with a new toy, finally discovering how to play with it properly.

Holding up his hand, a stone-like object emerged from his ring. It was the upgrade stone he had acquired earlier. He had three skills he could upgrade, and he knew exactly which one to choose.

[Decree of Equivalent Exchange has leveled up to Level 1!-Through the will of the user, you can now temporarily recieve or grant your subordinates two specific attributes of 20%. Number of attributes affected and the percentage given/taken will increase based on skill level, and can only be used with the undead.]

"This! This is exactly as good as I was expecting, haha~" Noah laughed out loud, his voice echoing across the battlefield. His exhilaration was clear for all to see, but he quickly composed himself, his expression turning serious. He still had one last thing to do, and he had to act quickly. The ant queen was growing increasingly anxious with each death of her minions.
