Beastmen Love-Chapter 142: Warning Call

Astri received a call from Nature while she was having dinner. She felt it wasn’t something dangerous but Nature wanted her to know right away. She closes the door of the bedroom and then closes her eyes to see what Nature wants her to see.

She sees several Monsters gathered and then a giant worm with thousands of teeth like an endless tunnel comes from the ground, then she sees Monsters that clearly look and feel more powerful leading all of those Monsters. They’re seeking blood, or migrating to a place that will provide them with more power.

As Astri is trying to understand what she is seeing, from nowhere the door opens on her head waking her from where she was.

"Ow.." She whines.

"Astri! Why were you behind the door? I’m so sorry. Does it hurt too much?" Dieg says, hugging her and kissing her head several times.

He was trying to get inside hidden from the others and was so focused on getting inside that he didn’t sense her there.

"Love.. Let’s put the cubs to sleep." She changes the subject and that was enough for Dieg to see it was something serious.

"All right.."

They come back to the dining room, and then Dieg calls the children to sleep. It’s already night, but not late, however, the children had plenty of training and things they had done to make them tired, so they happily agreed to bathe and get ready to sleep.

Astri’s spouses noticed she didn’t keep on eating and simply waited, taking little sips of water. Claud decides to take a look at her mind and is impressed with what he saw. He tries to not appear shocked, but Kangki notices from a mile away, so he decides to also look at her mind.

"I called you here, Xzan, to know if you want to move here and be one of the leaders." Lee asks Xzan.

"Why? Apparently, you have plenty of strong leaders here." Xzan asks, curious.

"Because we will have a mission for the new Beast King. Claud and Zin can heal almost anything. We will travel to far away and none of us want to be apart from our mate, who will also go, and our cubs as well. I trust many to be in our place, but you’re the best to lead The United Tribes."

Xzan never imagined he would hear something like that from Lee. Lee always said he could do everything by himself, and now he’s calling him to be in his place as an equal.

"You have to understand one thing: We’re called United Tribes because we share power between our tribes for a greater cause. You will be one of the Leaders." Tyr says.

"And who’s the higher leader? You?" Xzan jokes.

"No. Do you know who the Higher Priest is?" Tyr asks.

"Higher Priest? He’s the strongest beastman known from these lands. Why do you ask?"

"No. I’m not the strongest. At least not anymore." Claud seriously answers.

"What... You’re.." Xzan asks, in shock, after choking on juice.

"That is one of my names."

"The Higher Priest... Is your leader? Now I understand everything."

"No. I’m not their leader. They consider that I’m more knowledgeable, so when they need someone to help, I help them. That’s all." Claud speaks.

"I see."

"The invitation is done. Can he leave now? Astri has something important to discuss with us." Kangki says, already without patience.

Everyone looked at her, who was quietly waiting and looking at nowhere specific.

"I apologize, Lady Astri. Am I intruding? Is there something I can do to repay?" Xzan asks, standing up and then walking in her direction.

Zin stands in his way and hisses.

"No one is intruding, Lord Xzan.. You all can keep talking, I’m just thinking." Astri says, still looking at nowhere specific.

Xzan can’t see, but her eyes are shining like the stars are moving inside of them, traveling her mind somewhere else.

"I just want to apologize. Stand out of the way, snake." Xzan says to Zin.

"No." Zin answers.

"Let him be, Zin. He will accept the offer." Astri answers, then takes a sip of water.

"Why do you think I’ll accept?" Xzan asks Astri, with a smile, because he thinks that she will ask him to be her spouse.

"I’m not guessing. I’m sure of it. You and Lee are not only similar in smartness. Real leaders look at the bigger picture and do not let only instincts dictate their lives. You seek to become better day by day and you know that you will grow here." She answers directly, taking him by surprise.

"You... You’re not a normal female.."

She chuckles and blinks her eyes, making them come back to normal.

"You’re not the first one to say that." She says, and looks at Zin. "Take the maps, love. Please."

Zin nods and walks away.

"Maps?" Xzan asks.

"Will you really accept? We have an important meeting now and only the Leaders can participate for safety reasons." Tyr asks Xzan.

"All right. I accept. But you need to explain things more. I feel there is more than it looks like."

"You will learn everything." Astri says.

"Is there something coming, Astri?" Shung asks.

She sighs, showing she’s worried.

"Yes.. And I’m afraid that.. things might get too dangerous." Astri says.

She opens the maps, and most of them already saw the maps she made, not only Kangki and Xzan. She explains, helping them to situate the locations on the map.

"This is.. amazing. Who did this?" Xzan asks.

"Astri did. Now pay attention." Lee answers.

Xzan feels that he keeps getting impressed by that little female.

"I saw Monsters migrating from here, and they’re coming this way. They feel that this is the best place to settle with what they have. However, they will first attack tribes nearby to gather more Monsters before coming at us." Astri explains, pointing at the positions.

"How many?" Shung asks.

"Around 300 or 400."

"We can handle that much." Wayde says.

"The quantity is not the only problem." Claud says.

"And what is it?"

"We need to remember that not only one, but two Monsters Kings doesn’t exist anymore. So they fought to decide who would be the next ones. One stayed where Salaz’s kingdom was, and the other is coming here. He has around 10 Monsters as powerful as Khan, a Prince of Monster. And a worm." Astri tells them.

"A worm?" Koa asks.

"It’s like a Kraken from the land. Not as big and dangerous, but destroys as much. It can swallow our front gates easily."

Everyone fell silent. Xzan’s mind is burning trying to understand everything he heard of.

"Only us can defeat the strongest ones and the Monster King. He’s not as strong as Kangki." Claud says. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"Wait! What are you all talking about? Monster King? Worm that can swallow us? How do you know Monsters are coming this way?" Xzan asks, trying to understand.

Claud explains from the beginning who Astri is, making Xzan’s mind have another explosion. Astri chuckles and offers him water, then tells him to breathe.

"Well.. Are all leaders here?" Xzan asks.

"Yes. Some of our tribesmen and soldiers know about Astri. Astri sometimes is called by Nature to go on missions to other Kingdoms. And we will be traveling with her. When Astri asked me if we knew someone with an open mind, eager to improve, I remembered about you." Lee says to Xzan.

Xzan can see how much Lee changed. He can sense that Lee now has more power than he looks like, and also knowledge.

Xzan was always curious to learn new things, and how to have a better life and build a better place to live. His wish was one day to have a place like The United Tribes, but he didn’t know all the ways to have that.

Now he has the opportunity, and he can’t deny he’s happy but also cautious with what he will learn from that group.

"You have a lot in your mind, Lord Xzan." Astri says, then gives him a pancake, making him look at her again. "What I can guarantee to you is that we’re not evil. And that it will always be fun to learn something new." She smiles.

He loses his voice again, feeling that he can trust her for some reason. He never trusted a female, knowing that all they think about is building the best harem, however, she feels different in all ways.

"Tsc.. Lee, tell your friend he’s not allowed to be alone with Astri. I can sense what he wants from yards away." Kangki says, full of jealousy.

"I know. All of us can, smart ass." Lee groans.

"Stop, the two of you. It’s her decision, not ours." Beau says.

"You want more males sleeping in our bed?" Dieg asks Beau.

"No.. But it’s still not my decision."

"Can we go back to the main subject? Astri just said that very powerful Monsters are coming this way. What will be the plan? How long until they get here?" Shung asks.

"7 or 8 days until they find the closest tribe. This tribe will be destroyed if we leave them alone." Astri answers.

"If we go there we won’t have the walls to help us." Lee says.

"As I felt, in this tribe there are only 60 members. We should call them here until there’s no risk anymore." Claud tells.

"That’s a good idea. Lee and Tyr are the best for this task. Their names are known and they will convince the tribe leader easily." Cyprian says.

"All right. We will go. But when we’re back we will be the next in the lines." Tyr retorts.

The others groan.

"Good one." Lee smiles at Tyr, thanking him for his smart move.
