As dusk fell, the Beastmen from the Spring Hunt returned in a great procession. Although they had spent four days fighting Fierce Beasts in the forest, they were now carrying and dragging countless kills, radiating an irrepressible excitement.

"You’re going to be a Mother soon, so how can you still be this lively, my dear?"

Everyone was incredibly protective of the females and cubs, especially the pregnant ones. They wished they could carry them everywhere they went, or even keep them from leaving the house, for fear of the slightest accident.

Si Shuo smiled, pressing her lips together. "I missed you, Gong You. All the other males have their females here to greet them. I couldn’t let you look around pitifully, not see me, and feel sad, could I?"

"Besides, I wanted to be the first one to see you."

"No wonder you love honey and fruit so much, my dear. All that sweetness is right there on your lips. You’re an expert at sweet-talking people!"

Si Shuo reached out and poked his chest, asking with a grin, "So, did it sweeten your heart, Gong You?"

Gong You chuckled. "It did. I feel like I’ve been soaked in a honey pot. It’s overwhelmingly sweet!"

Zhi Le slowly walked over, raising an eyebrow. "kitty, did you forget you had another Beast Husband in the Spring Hunt? You can’t let one be overwhelmed with sweetness while another doesn’t even get a taste, can you?"

Si Shuo felt a little guilty. To be honest, Zhi Le’s clone had been monopolizing her attention all day, making her forget that the real Zhi Le was also at the Spring Hunt.

Si Shuo’s heart tightened. She shook her head and asked, her lips pursed, "What is it? Zhi Le, did you run into trouble during the Spring Hunt?"

Zhi Le shook his head, took Si Shuo’s hand, and began to lead her away from the crowd as they slowly walked back.

"I can create clones. Every time I advance a color level, I can manifest an additional one. This means my advancement is slower than others. It’s like two bodies advancing at the same time, plus I need extra cultivation to sustain a newborn clone."

Si Shuo was a little puzzled. "That seems reasonable. No superpower can be too overpowered; there has to be a balancing factor."

"You pay a higher price, so it’s only natural you get an extra body to face enemies with!"

Zhi Le smiled. "With an extra clone, my love for you doubles, kitty. In the same way, you have to pour an equal amount of joy and attention into each of my clones and my original body."

"Otherwise, if a clone develops its own feelings, it could split off from my original self and become an independent entity. The same could happen to my original body."

"After all, while my original self and my clone can be indistinguishable, once they are split into two separate individuals, there are bound to be differences."

Si Shuo nodded repeatedly. "I won’t do it again!"

Then, she gently swung Zhi Le’s hand and said with a smile, "Zhi Le, from now on, if I do anything wrong, can you just explain it to me clearly like this, okay?"

"There are so many of us in this family; I can’t possibly think of everything. If there’s a misunderstanding, let’s resolve it right away. We shouldn’t just sulk by ourselves. That will only hurt our relationship and make the problem worse."

Gong You and Zhi Le protected Si Shuo, one openly and one from the shadows, while Ji Liang and Xu Chi resignedly went to retrieve the items the other two had brought back, dragging everything to their family’s Beast Skin Bag.

After a short rest, a bath, and a change of clothes, the two males took turns sharing some intimate moments with Si Shuo. Then, the great drum in the square began to beat.

Every family that had participated in the hunt hurried toward the square with a sense of urgency.

Si Shuo sat on Ji Liang’s head, her view wide and open, with a small snack in her hand.

The four days of the Spring Hunt had felt like four months to her. Now that her family was reunited, she was in excellent spirits.
