Usually, she was in a very withdrawn state of mind, always cautious and full of unease about the people and events around her.

However, as she walked on the damp, soft earth, the fresh scent of soil lingering in the air, it felt as if she could hear the gentle breathing of Mother Earth.

The sound was like a gentle lullaby, bringing an extraordinary peace to her soul. Her anxiety gradually dissipated, its usual intensity gone.

Normally, such a shift in emotion would be perfectly natural.

But she had long been plagued by anxiety and had grown accustomed to a life of unease and worry.

Therefore, a tranquil and peaceful state of mind like this was, to her, far more precious than how she’d felt just half an hour ago.

This sharp contrast created a profound sense of dissonance within her.

But she didn’t dare to say anything.

Everyone else seemed to think nothing was wrong, their faces relaxed and carefree.

Seeing the system’s message, the words "site of the Gu Family legacy" were practically slapped in his face.

And so, he walked forward without the slightest fear and greeted the White Celestial Horse.

This was completely outside their plan.

They were very familiar with the mountain forests near the Gu Family estate.

This was especially true for Elder Gu, who had contracted Pet Beasts of his own.

Although he was old and his previously contracted Pet Beasts had died of old age, he had indeed acquired new ones recently.

While they weren’t as strong as his son’s Five-star Pet Beast, they still possessed a degree of combat strength.

But when Elder Gu saw the pure white Celestial Horse, which exuded an aura that calmed both body and mind, he knew they were in trouble.

The giant, ape-like beast with a black head and white arms suddenly arched its back and howled. Two clusters of eerie blue flames erupted from between its clasped palms.

The flames flowed like liquid down its knotted arm muscles, tracing strange arcs of light in the dim evening.

As the Black and White Long-Armed Ape stomped on the ground and leaped into the air, the grass within a five-step radius instantly turned to carbonized ash. A wave of blue energy washed over Gu Ming, forcing him back two steps.

The commotion wasn’t necessarily massive, but the instant the flames ignited, Gu Ming felt a searing heat wash over his entire body, as if a single touch would scorch him to a crisp.

’Grandpa’s Pet Beast is so strong!’

But just as the ape’s claws were about to touch the Celestial Horse, the divine creature calmly lifted its gaze and glanced at it.

The Long-Armed Ape’s muscles suddenly spasmed, and its eerie blue flames flickered erratically.

In the next instant, the Black and White Long-Armed Ape froze in mid-air, its body rigid.

It was already mid-pounce and couldn’t control its trajectory. It shot past the White Celestial Horse, missing it by mere centimeters and brushing past the halo of light above its head, before crashing headfirst into the forest ten meters to the left.

With the CRACK of breaking trees, its body, still wreathed in residual flames, plowed a ten-meter-long trench in the ground. The tail end of the eerie blue flames burst into a shower of sparks, setting the surrounding vegetation ablaze.

This caused the color to drain from Mr. and Mrs. Gu’s faces.

The situation was now completely beyond their control.

The power displayed by this Pet Beast was something that even the Black and White Long-Armed Ape couldn’t handle.

The White Celestial Horse had frozen the Black and White Long-Armed Ape with just a single glance, without revealing any hint of its Star Level Realm’s aura.

’This isn’t a Five-star Spirit Beast... could it be a Six-star?’

At this thought, beads of cold sweat began to form on their foreheads.

’Does Elder Gu know about this?’

Mr. Gu looked toward his father.

Elder Gu’s brow furrowed. He didn’t summon his own Pet Beast, but instead tugged on Gu Ming again, trying to pull him back.
