Apocalypse: I Built the Infinite Train-Chapter 196: Emotional Release
Ding Junyi looked at Lin Xian, a flicker of embarrassment flashing in her eyes. But she quickly steadied herself, took a deep breath, and asked, “Did you want to sleep together?”
“No.” Lin Xian shook his head. In tonight’s circumstances, thoughts of romance were far from his mind. “I heard a noise and thought something had happened to you, so I came to check.”
However, judging by Ding Junyi’s expression, something had happened… just not the kind of emergency he had expected.
Her cheeks flushed red, and she lowered her voice. “Sorry… I was… relieving myself. If I disturbed you, I sincerely apologize. I hope this doesn’t make you think less of me.”
Lin Xian’s eyes widened. “Huh?”
Pushing up her glasses, Ding Junyi tried to maintain a serious expression as she explained, “I believe I mentioned before that life-threatening situations give me an intense physical thrill. This is how I periodically release my stress and emotions.”
As she spoke, she turned and picked up a peculiar purple object from the bed, then looked back at Lin Xian. “But don’t worry—I’m very traditional when it comes to relationships. Since I’ve already been with you, I consider you my only male partner. Given your current emotional state, I knew it wasn’t the right time for intimacy, so I handled it myself. I’m very meticulous about hygiene… it’s just that this room isn’t well soundproofed. I sincerely apologize.”
“…That’s too traditional.”
Lin Xian’s eye twitched. His gaze involuntarily landed on the purple device in her hand. It looked oddly familiar, but he couldn’t quite place where he’d seen it before.
“Thank you,” Ding Junyi continued. “You don’t have to worry about me being unfaithful—physically or emotionally. I have a psychological aversion to that kind of thing.”
A mental purity complex…?
Lin Xian suddenly felt a headache coming on. The Infinite Train was expanding, and everyone had their own private space now. Aside from Shasha, everyone on board was an adult, and this sort of thing was just a part of life. He had no right to interfere, so after a moment’s thought, he simply said, “It’s fine. I just wanted to check if you were in danger. Also… I wanted to apologize for yelling at you earlier. The situation was urgent—”
“No need.”
Ding Junyi cut him off, her serious gaze locking onto his. Then, unexpectedly, her tone shifted, growing heavier.
“You can raise your voice at me,” she said. “I don’t mind if you’re harsh with me—I can adapt to that style of communication. In fact… it actually makes me feel… quite good.”
What the f*—she’s a hardcore M?!**
Lin Xian’s pupils trembled. He was at a complete loss for words. Ding Junyi’s definition of “traditional” was clearly in a league of its own, and he had no idea how to respond.
“Uh—right. Get some rest.”
And with that, he turned and bolted.
Ding Junyi watched his retreating figure, her face burning. She touched her own flushed cheeks, then pressed a hand over her pounding heart, murmuring softly:
“When you yell at me… you’re so manly.”
Lin Xian made his way to Car 5, where Da Lou and Shasha were organizing weapons. Together, they moved to Car 10, where Shu Qin was stationed on guard duty.

Though she initially refused to rest, Lin Xian could see how utterly exhausted she was and didn’t give her a choice—ordering her to sleep until morning.
Before joining the Infinite Train, Shu Qin had shouldered immense responsibility in the Bigfoot Convoy, running on little sleep. These past two days had been no different, and with a critical mission ahead, she eventually relented and went to rest.
Meanwhile, in Car 11, Lin Xian busied himself with manufacturing ammunition. He even crafted an additional Thunderstorm A1 Grenade Launcher, assigning Shasha to train Miao Lu in its use.
As for Lü Chang, Lin Xian had observed that both he and Miao Lu had undergone significant physical enhancements. Their speed and combat ability were rapidly catching up to Blonde Thug from the Black Crow Four. Lü Chang, in particular, was incredibly fast—a natural close-combat fighter.
So, Lin Xian crafted a GK03 Electric Blade for him as a melee weapon.
Unlike Lin Xian, who could use the blade without an external power source, Lü Chang would need to charge it periodically using the train’s power grid.
When they received their new weapons, Miao Lu and Lü Chang were ecstatic.
“Whoa! Lin-dui, your ability is incredible!” Miao Lu’s eyes sparkled as she admired the grenade launcher in her hands.
Shasha grinned. “Of course! My Lin-ge is the best. Come on, I’ll teach you how to use it.”
Lü Chang, meanwhile, was staring at the gleaming blade, swallowing hard. “Lin-dui… this knife looks insane.”
Lin Xian gestured toward a switch on the handle. “Try pressing this.”
Lü Chang nodded and flicked the switch.
A faint electrical hum filled the air as silver arcs of energy danced along the blade’s edge. The weapon emitted a dim glow, with miniature lightning bolts crackling across its surface.
“Amazing…” Lü Chang’s eyes burned with excitement. This would be an insanely powerful melee weapon.
Outside, the Infinite Train remained stationed at the Rain Town platform, while preparations intensified inside the carriages.
In Car 12, the PX05 Engineering Robot tirelessly assembled ammunition belts.
Lin Xian, as the train’s primary weapons supplier, knew tomorrow would bring a brutal battle. He had to be ready for anything. If the chemical plant monstrosity survived the explosion, they would have to rely on the train’s heavy firepower to take it down.
If only his Mechanical Manufacturing ability were at a higher level—he would’ve built an Electromagnetic Rail Cannon by now.
But there was no time for regrets. The minutes ticked by, each second drawing them closer to dawn.
At 7:00 AM, the Dark Tides receded, and the sky lightened.
In Car 1, Lin Xian spotted Chen Sixuan, already geared up and strapping the massive A33K Heavy Anti-Materiel Sniper Rifle to her back.
“You ready?” he asked, his tone carrying a trace of admiration. He had watched her growth every step of the way.
Chen Sixuan nodded firmly. “I’ve already scouted the area. KIKI’s drones also confirmed my route—I should be fine.”
Lin Xian crafted a binocular scope and handed it to her. “Good. Stay alert. If anything happens, Shasha and Da Lou will provide cover from the train.”
“I know.”
Chen Sixuan glanced at him. “You guys are the ones in real danger. Don’t worry about me.”
Lin Xian tapped his communication device. “We’ll stay in touch.”
Chen Sixuan understood. She stepped to the train’s exit, took a deep breath, then threw the door open, dashing across the platform.
She moved swiftly, slipping through a warehouse alley and entering through a back door. Navigating past storage racks, she climbed a fire escape, reaching a metal air vent.
The vent was locked.
Gritting her teeth, she pulled out a shock lockpick and jammed it into the mechanism.
Snap!
A crisp sound echoed through the warehouse as the lock shattered.
Chen Sixuan’s eyes lit up. She swiftly opened the vent, placed her sniper rifle on the rooftop, then agilely climbed out. Securing the vent door behind her, she scaled a wind tower, settling into position.
She began setting up her sniper stand, adjusting her posture, checking the scope for distance and wind calculations.
Everything she had learned from the ex-military sniper in their convoy was now being put to the test.
“In position,” she reported through the comms.
Back on the Infinite Train, Lin Xian looked up.
There, perched high above, was a composed and breathtakingly fierce female sniper—a sight that made his breath catch for a moment.
“Chen-laoshi… you’re my goddess.”
Chen Sixuan’s voice came through the comms, calm and steady.
“During a mission, no flirting.”
