Chapter 94: Chapter 93: Tour Around the Ninth Army Headquarters

After making his instructions clear to everyone inside the office Layton Lewis looked at him.

Ryzel knew that Layton Lewis was giving him a signal for him to say whatever he wanted to say to the people who would be protecting him.

"Hello everyone, I am Ryzel. I would like to say thank you in advance for your protection," Ryzel said politely while facing everyone.

He doesn’t know anyone of them on a personal level yet, so he just sincerely thanked them for their upcoming protection.

"Nice to meet you Sir Ryzel, you don’t need to thank us, as it is our duty to protect you," Sir Fan, the leader of the first security team said.

"Still, I wanted to say thank you. By the way, you can just call me by my name Ryzel."

Most of the guards were older than him so it was awkward for him for them to always call him Sir Ryzel when he didn’t even have a rank and hadn’t even graduated yet and knowing that they were all older than him.

They would be watching him most of the time, so Ryzel doesn’t think they need to be that respectful all the time.

The guards didn’t agree at first as he was the General’s wife and deserved such respect. So, they compromised to address him with just his name if there were no other people besides them.

After talking to the guards, a bit Layton Lewis asked him if he wanted to continue looking around the military headquarters and of course Ryzel agreed.

He also wanted to see what the headquarters looked like. He would also be staying in it, so it was better to be familiar with his surroundings in advance.

Layton Lewis first guided him to a room near his office which is apparently his own laboratory.

The laboratory was fully equipped with all the things he would need. Some common herbs that were needed to make potions were also fully stocked in his laboratory.

"If you need more equipment, just tell me or you could check out if it is available in our ninth army medicine center," Layton Lewis said while he was looking around the room.

"This is already sufficient for the time being. If I need something, I’ll tell you directly. By the way, where is the ninth army medicine center?" Ryzel asked, wanting to visit and see what it looked like.

"The medicine center is across the training ground near the sleeping quarters of the soldiers."

"I see."

They surely place the medicine center near those places for better protection. Most of the people working there would be guides and some ordinary people so placing them near the places where sentinels could immediately aid them.

"Do you want to visit?"

"Yes, I want to see what it looked like."

He only saw the laboratories around the capital star when their professors brought them and the laboratory oh his mother when he was young. So, he also wanted to see the laboratory and medicine center of the ninth army.

Ryzel wanted to see their facilities and of course to meet the people working there.

He hasn’t been in contact with any guides since coming to the ninth army.

He wanted to at least meet some of them to see how they are working. The medicine center is the best place to meet some of them.

Layton Lewis led him around the military headquarters to see the different offices, canteens, training rooms, and other places before leading him to the medical center.

While going around the headquarters all the soldiers they met greeted them with respect, their stance and posture were all according to standard.

But even with their respectful image he could still see that all of them were curious about him and his relationship with Layton Lewis as he could see their eyes following everything they were doing.

He could even see their silent excitement when Layton Lewis half embraced him when he was leading him around.

He knew that after they walked away, they would all be gossiping about them as he could hear some noise as soon as they left the area.

"Your subordinates are pretty interesting. They are all very respectful and disciplined when you’re there but as soon as you’re gone, they are all very lively. Are they that afraid of you?" Ryzel asked in a teasing manner.

"No, they aren’t afraid of me. They should have been afraid of being punished," Layton Lewis chuckled after answering.

"What punishment are they afraid of?"

"The punishment varies for different violations but most of the punishment here in the ninth army stacks up.

So, most of them are very afraid of getting a violation even for just a simple violation because their punishment would become greater once they have more violations.

These stacked up punishment would only be reset if they have a great achievement or if they are promoted."

"Oh, so they are afraid you would pick up some of their faults and be punished that’s they are very disciplined."

"Yes, this type of punishment model is very great in reigning in the nature of sentinels. That’s why we use it in the ninth army."

Sentinels being sensitive to their surroundings tend to have violent tendencies so having such a punishment model would really be effective for them.

"Were here. This place is the medical center of the ninth army," Layton Lewis said while pointing at a large area composed of buildings with very tight security.

Unlike the other areas of the headquarters the medical center has a lot of soldiers stationed around it and he could also see a lot of defense measures surrounding it. It could be said that it is one of the most tightly guarded areas in the ninth army headquarters.

Well, it is indeed very understandable because the medical center is the place where they have their patients, potions, and of course guides. The medical center being in danger is a huge loss for them.

Both of them enter the medical center after a lot of identity verification. On the way Layton Lewis was also explaining the structure of the medical center.

"The medical bay where most patients are is on our right and on the left is where we have different laboratories for different purposes, and the area at the center where we are going right now is the place which focuses on potion research and production."

As soon as Layton Lewis entered the door, they were met with a very busy scene.

"Have you finished the making potion no.2?"

"We are running out of scalken herb, do we still have stock in our warehouse?"

"We just finished counting the remaining potions. We don’t have enough stocks; we need to prepare again for upcoming battles."

"How is the progress of your research? Did the effect of the potion increase?"

Looking at everyone being busy even in the lobby, Ryzel was amazed. It seems that in any place as long as it is a medical center, he could see such scenes. Even in their school, their department lobby also looked the same.

After a few seconds after entering someone finally noticed them.

"Good day General Lewis, Sir Ryzel!" They immediately greeted them when they noticed them.

"Everyone, this is Ryzel. He would be in your care from now on."

"Yes, of course General, we would take good care of him. As long as he needed something he could always come here," the head of the center replied in a friendly manner.

"Ryzel, this is Hanes Addis, he is the head of the medical center here."

"Hello, Mr. Hanes, nice to meet you. Thank you for your care in advance," Ryzel politely answered.

"Ryzel wanted to look around. You could all continue doing your work. We will just look around for a bit."

After talking to Mr. Hanes for a bit both of them went around the medical center.

The medical center is very wide. All the equipment is complete and even with different sets of numbers.

The things that were often used for different research are all in large quantities.

They also have large personal laboratories for their researchers. They also have a very wide herb plantation at the very back of the medical center.

They went to all the areas in the medical center, but they didn’t go inside the medical bay. Layton Lewis said that they might disturb ongoing treatment or the patients, so they didn’t go inside it any longer.

After going around the military headquarters Ryzel was already very tired.

They went shopping in the morning and went walking around in the afternoon. His physique is very low, so he was already very tired from just doing those for a day.

"Layton, can we go home already?" Ryzel asked. He wasn’t sure if Layton Lewis had any duties left so he asked if they could already go home.

"Yes, we can go now. Are you tired? Do you want me to carry you?" Layton Lewis considerately asked.

"Yes, I’m indeed tired but you don’t need to carry me. I can still walk towards our aircraft," Ryzel replied and started walking.
